Room with an Anti-View: Planet Hollywood

You know the scene. You open the door to your brand new hotel room, run over to the window, open the blinds and bam, you are hit with the anti-view. Maybe you are looking down a dirty alley, witnessing a drug deal, staring at an air shaft in the face, or seeing a brick wall. Whatever you are viewing it is not extremely pleasurable. Help out your fellow hotel mavens by uploading your anti-views to the HotelChatter/Flickr photo pool, or by sending the photo along to us. Remember to tell us the name of the hotel and the room number with the not-so-easy-on-the-eyes view.

Ahh...Las Vegas. This sad shot was taken from room 1222 at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino when we hit it up for the grand opening weekend.

It's a good thing we hardly spent time in this room or all the other Vegas hotel rooms we've ever stayed in. (Except for when we got sick.) We're starting to think this is another trick of the casino bosses. Give people depressing room views so they will go downstairs and gamble or eat or take in a show or spend money on shoes. We did the latter.

Planet Hollywood Grand Opening Pictures

We wouldn't let you take off for a four-day weekend without something pretty to look at. Here are all the pictures our cameras snapped from the Planet Hollywood Grand Opening Weekend. If you like old timey celebs like Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone, you will be so happy. It will be like Christmas came early!

On the musician side: If you like Mark McGrath, DMC, Earth, Wind and Fire, and Barbra Streisand, you will also be so happy! Same goes for anyone who likes geometric shapes and views of Las Vegas casino rooftops.

Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino: A Semi-Stream of Consciousness Review

We have recovered enough from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino's Grand Opening weekend to bring you our Semi-Stream of Consciousness review about this new casino hotel on the Strip.

Sadly, the rooms were what we liked least about the hotel. The good news is everything else is rather exciting. And since Planet Hollywood has yet to reach astronomic Vegas room prices, the place is a deal for those obsessed with Hollywood culture and for anyone who enjoys good food, great shopping and a modern casino vibe.
