Bad Rate:: No Good Cheap One Night Stand Rooms in the Desert

[Ed. Note: This is the Bad Rate in our Good Rate/Bad Rate feature. The rates listed here were valid on April 17, 2007 and is subject to change. Enjoy.]

We guess if you were headed to the desert for a relaxing weekend (or perhaps a last-ditch attempt at saving a failing celebrity relationship), forking out $345 a night for the Le Parker Meridien might be worth it. But if you want to do a quick shopping trip at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets, or if you're interested in a one night stand, there's really nowhere to stay for a night since most of the less expensive places request a two-night minimum.

One place that does not and that was available was the Hilton Palm Springs Resort at $235 which still seems steep for a one night stay at a Hilton and one reviewer says don't forget about the parking and resort fees.

And even if you do decide to book a higher-end resort like the Viceroy Palm Springs, just remember who you might be sharing the place with.

Great and fun place - particularly before the LA crowd arrives for weekend who tend to be a little too fabulous. (Overheard at pool on cell phone - "no no getting you 100 million will NOT be a problem")
