The Regent Montenegro
There’s tons of hotel news flying around at the moment, so we have another roundup of news bites for you today to get you up to speed on the latest from Oman to Cambodia and China to Argentina.
Starting with the Arab sultanate of Oman, its newspaper Muscat Daily (Muscat is the capital) reports that the country will have the first Aman Resort in the Middle East, in the remote coastal town of Shuwaimiya. The developer of the eco-resort has confirmed Aman Resorts will open, with the hotel group so far taking a confirm-nor-deny approach. Whether or not it will be the first in the Middle East remains to be seen, based on what we hear about an opening in Jordan.
And yet, for the first time ever in the Middle East, coming up September 20-27 and then again December 6-13, the DJ Dispensary (a collective of luxury travel and 12-inch vinyl experts) will be at Six Senses Zighy Bay, Oman, hosting well-heeled, spa-loving Tiestos-in-training for uber-exclusive “DJ retreats.”
Drop the beat, yo. Sound the alarm.

Before you check out of work and into your hotel for the long weekend (woot!), here are some luxury hotel news to be aware of.
First up, the Dorchester Collection has decided that seven hotels catering to crazy celebs is simply not enough. So they adopted an eighth property in Geneva, Switzerland--Le Richemond Hotel, previously a Rocco Forte hotel. Hotels Mag reports:
Le Richemond will undergo a refurbishment of its public areas, including the restaurant and bar, as well as its guest suites. The hotel will remain open during the project.
The Le Richemond will officially reopen as a Dorchester Collection hotel in August. Another bonus? We see a little tidbit on the 45 Park Lane hotel in London which will now open in September.
Over at Jaunted they've been name-dropping Oman as the next big tourist destination, and now that we've found the Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay there's nothing stopping us hopping on an Oman-bound plane.
Zighy Bay doesn't official open until April, but the UK Times has had a look, and every TripAdvisor review so far has given it five stars. Apart from being a pretty unique resort in an exotic place, and brand new to boot, it also loves infinity pools with a large one and smaller villa infinity plunge pools. The large infinity pool is fed by a waterfall and overlooks the beach, too.
Zighy Bay is in a soft-opening phase already but will be fully completed in the next couple of months. If the infinity pools don't tempt you, perhaps the choice of arrival method will: you can come in by bus (boring), take a scenic 15-minute motorboat ride, or most exciting, paraglide into the resort in tandem with an expert paraglider. We figure they bring your luggage separately.
However, if you want to go we suggest going ASAP. The hotel is still offering promotional rates in April but they aren't cheap at $870 a night for pool villa. Although you do get that killer infinity pool as an amenity.
