Celebrity Scoop / Marcus Jordan / Michael Jordan / Embassy Suites Hotels / Omaha Hotels / → All Tags
We're used to celebs behaving badly at hotels but now there's a whole new category of celebs to watch out for at check-in--celebrity kids!
Like Marcus Jordan, son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, who was arrested in Omaha at an Embassy Suites Hotel for a three pointer of charges--resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing justice.
Apparently, Marcus was in Omaha to watch a friend at the U.S. Olympics Swimming Trials but instead got into a fight with two women in the driveway of the hotel early on Sunday morning. (We doubt it had anything to do with the hotel itself although their lack of free WiFi is irksome.) In case you forgot, this is the same son who spent nearly $50,000 partying in Vegas two summers ago.
We stay and broadcast from Hilton It is right across from the (Qwest) convention center where the meetings are taking place and centrally located downtown near all of my favorite restaurants. It is actually my favorite hotel of any place I have ever stayed. Who would have known? Once a year shareholders, business leaders, and the media descend upon this tiny city once and they handle it incredibly well.
Liz doesn't even leave the hotel for a java jolt as the hotel brews Starbucks coffee in the lobby. (We just hope the hotel waives their WiFi charge for her.)
While we're a little bit bummed that the Element Times Square won't be opening until December, we've got something that will hold us over in the meantime--Element Omaha (sing it now, "Somewhere in middle America, get right to the heart of matters...") which will open on November 4.
Built green from the ground up, the property will pursue LEED certification and offer sustainable practices and eco chic amenities. Each of Element’s 132 guest rooms has a fully-equipped kitchenette and guests will have access to the complimentary healthy Rise breakfast each morning, Motion, the 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center and complimentary bikes to borrow.
Element Omaha, in the city's Midtown district, will actually be the first Element hotel in the Midwest and if you're in the area, we highly recommend you try it out. We spent four days at the Element Las Vegas last year and it still ranks as one of our top hotel stays.
