Mmm...Obatzda At Andaz Wall Street
Here's another hotel trying on someone else's culture for size: Andaz Wall Street is celebrating Oktoberfest (now thru October 1) with a specially-curated menu of German traditional dishes.
Knowing how much the hotel looooves to host large drunken wedding parties, this feels like a match made in heaven. If heaven is a waterfront luxury hotel whose kitchen was experimenting with morsels like radi, obatzda (above), spaetzle, and smoked trout.

A Room for the Night and a 'Dirndl' for Oktoberfest at Munich's Charles Hotel
Boobs. That's what the German Oktoberfest celebrations is all about, right? Wrong, but we're at least close. On September 18th, Munich will tap the first kegs to kick off the month-long festival of beer, brats, bretzeln (pretzels) and yesboobs too. You see, the Bavarian traditional costume for women is a Dirndl, a highly decorated peasant dress of sorts, which is typically specially made and heavy on the cleavage-baring.
If you're thinking of heading to Munich for Oktoberfest this year and you like the look of these Dirndls, the the Rocco Forte Collection property The Charles Hotel at the center of the city has a deal for you: their "Dressed for Oktoberfest" package.

It's Time to Start Prosting Again
Oktoberfest 2008.
Yes, Oktoberfest is back! Or will be back on September 19 with the Lord Mayor of Munich cries, "Ozapft is!" ("It's been tapped"). But if you're planning on making your way to Munich for the festivities, we recommend doing two things.
First, read our tips for Surviving Oktoberfest. We attended it last year and if you'd like not awake the morning after with rain-soaked pants and vomit-covered sneakers, then you'd do well to heed our advice.
Second, checkout the Oktoberfest Package from the Charles Hotel, a Rocco Forte property, in the city's old Botanical Gardens.

Oktoberfest Hotels :: Going to Munich For The Real Thing
As more than a few of you know already, this HotelChatter editor is headed off to Paris tomorrow. But what you may not know is that we are also headed to Munich the following week to partake in some authentic Oktoberfest activities. We just love bier and wiener schnitzel. Ok, we really only like saying wiener schnitzel. But we do love bier.
Our Ellen De Generes-rambling aside, we are here to tell you what hotel we booked for our two nights in Munich. This is something that we never do! Largely because we're afraid of getting kicked out before we get there. But we're traveling with our life partner and he's made the rezzie in his name. So it's all good.
We're staying at the Leonardo Hotel Munich City Center for two reasons. One, it's close to the train station. Two, we could book it using credit card rewards points. (Room rates started around 182 Euros for next week.)
But we still have some important tips on booking hotels in Munich for ya. Keep reading after the jump.

Weekend Hotel Happening :: Oktoberfest at the Dream Hotel

Hotel: The Dream Hotel New York
When: Saturday, September 20th. 1 to 7 pm.
Where: The hotel's lounge, AVA, and its "rooftop-turned-bier-garten".
What: An Oktoberfest celebration!
Kind of random, we know -- but we're told the place will be teeming with beer and Bratwurst (perhaps both in the edible sense and the euphemistic sense). Now, we have to warn you: there's a list for this event and we're not sure who's on it, but we couldn't resist passing the news along to you. Hey, you're a hottie so we figured you can try your luck with getting into this anyway.
They're giving away some stuff, too, including treatments at The Chopra Canter & Spa, dinner at Amalia at Dream or Beer for a Year. Yes: beer. For a YEAR.

Oktoberfest Hotels :: Celebrate Oktoberfest in Michigan's Little Bavaria
If you're reading this, chances are pretty high you're not in Munich, the world's holiest of Oktoberfest meccas (but by all means, correct us in the comments if we're mistaken). Because if you were in Munich, we hope you'd be perfecting your beer stein-pounding or last-minute Dirndl shopping for Saturday, when the festivities get underway.
But for the rest of us beer-lovin' brethren, Middle America has an incredible alternative: Frankenmuth, Michigan, the first German Parliament-sanctioned Oktoberfest location outside of Munich. "Little Bavaria" holds its annual fest today through Sept. 21.

Oktoberfest Hotels :: Celebrate OktoberFest in Cabo San Lucas

What do you get when you cross a German and a sombrero? OktobeerFiesta!
We realize that might not make a lot of sense, especially since it looks like we didn't even spell check the punchline but we're for real. Casa Dorada in Cabo San Lucas is celebrating OktoberFest at their B Lounge. We're thinking this is probably more affordable than trekking to Germany and the weather is guaranteed to be better.
The package, which includes three nights accommodation in a junior suite, an open beer-bar all day, and a pair of tickets to one night's activities is only $998. (The larger one bedroom suite package is $1,198.) Our calculations show that those rates include taxes, so beer-belly up to the B Lounge.
Since themed festivities don't begin til evening, you can spend the day surfing the free WiFi on your suite's private terrace, or by the pool, or by the beach, or at the spa, or just hanging out in the open bar all day getting your money's worth.
Evening activities include live music, ethnic food with beer pairings, and both German and Mexican snacks. So really, it's like you're traveling to two countries for the price of one. We can't think of a reason not to celebrate OktoberFest--er, um, OktobeerFiesta!--now.
