Todd English Restaurant to Open in Ft. Lauderdale's Il Lugano Hotel
Thanks to tipster TonyT, we just got word of celeb chef Todd English's plans to open da Campo Osteria at the boutique Il Lugano Hotel & Residences in Ft. Lauderdale. According to Dine Magazine:
This new restaurant will feature Northern Italian cuisine combined with a spectacular panoramic view. The menu will pay tribute to English’s Tuscan roots, and feature pastas, grilled entrees and flatbreads.
And the official word from the the restaurant's MySpace page (how trendy!) is that the Ft. Lauderdale spot is going to open up in November.
We're certain the food is going to be excellent, but we're not going to lie: we're a little bit worried about the ambiance -- specifically the music playlist. See, the restaurant's MySpace friends include LL Cool J, Creed, Christina Milian and Danity Kane. Um. Yeah. That sorta makes us worry, you know? A gentle suggestion to Todders: if you're considering booking one of those four to play your opening, we urge you to reconsider.

Hotels and Social Networking :: Sketchy or Seriously Innovative?
We came across community and social media blogger Chris Brogan's discussion on social networking at hotels and we got to thinking about some of his points. Should hotels create their own online social networks? And what about hotels that carve out their own corner of social networking sites by creating MySpace or Facebook pages - what sorts of features do guests want to see from them?
First thing's first: hotels with their own social networks, a la Pod Hotel's Pod Community Blog where guests can post on a forum to find other folks to eat/drink/shop with during their stays.
What if every hotel had its own little social network like that? You know, an opt-in program for guests who are chillin' at, say, the X Hotel in Anywheretown who want to meet some other travelers? They create a profile and link up with people who share their interests or just want to grab a martini (or more, even). Cool? Or sketchy like a mom on Facebook? (No offense, Mom!)

Where to Find Supermodels and a Cheap Bed in London

We all know that when traveling to London on a budget, you may have to sacrifice some of your favorite hotel comforts in order to afford a stay in this increasingly-expensive city.
But the Pavilion Hotel could possibly satisfy your wallet and your celebrity supermodel fetish.
The hotel was created by former model Danny Karne (who drives a Lamborgini) and his sister, Noshi who wanted to liven up the hotel experience. So they opened a 30-room hotel with all different themes. Consider it the UK Sister to the Madonna Inn.

Ghost Bar at W Dallas MySpaces!

OMG. We just found out that the W Dallas Ghost Bar has a friggin' MySpace page!
We totally sent them a MySpace friend request and can't wait until we can start commenting on their page like how awesome the bar is and how we really want to make friends with those fierce-looking people in the gazillions of pictures they have. (Help, we need a good plastic surgeon!)
Once we become friends, then getting in on Tuesday nights (the hottest nights in town) will be soooo much easier since we're like one of their 2,372 friends. And since our dream has always ALWAYS been to land a nude layout in Playboy, this will totally improve our networking skills.
OMG, our friend request came through. Thx so much for the add Ghost Bar!! You Rock!
