The other week we noted that the exclusive Morgans Hotels Global Club Card had gotten a makeover and today, we learn a little bit more about the design, as well as who is privileged enough to get one:

Featuring a fresh design by illustrator-designer Jo Ratcliffe, the new card conveys the playfulness for which Morgans Hotel Group is renowned. Ratcliffe, who has a knack for speaking volumes with streamlined pieces, thoughtfully created not only the card itself but the packaging as well. This striking piece and its new privileges are being offered to select tastemakers from a carefully collated list.

Thanks to a reader, we have a more clearer shot of what the card looks like in person. Still, no word on what you have to do to be a select "tastemaker." We're guessing you have to stay A LOT of nights at Morgans Hotels.

Morgans Hotels Give Their Global Club Card a New Look

Remember back in June when we were positively obsessed with Morgans Hotels and their Global Club Card? First, we were obsessed with finding out what they offered and then we were obsessed with finding out what they looked like, even asking you readers to submit your own wishful thinking photoshop creations.

Finally a reader sent us a photo of the club card and it was way cooler than what we imagined--although we wish members of this ultra-exclusive club could have the option to personalize their card with a photo of their fave Morgans Hotel.

Either way, perhaps our renewed interest in the card sparked the folks at Morgans to mix up the card's look. A tipster has sent us a photo of the card's brand-new design.

The Morgans Hotel Group Global Club Card...Revealed!

Last week, on a "slow news day", we put forth our own photoshop suggestions for what you think the Morgans Hotel Group Global Club Card should look like and we got something even better--a photo of the real thing.

A tipster sent us this snapshot of his own card (photoshopping off the important details) and we have to say, we're loving it. It's way better than what we thought it looked like. Although, we still think it would be cool if you could personalize this card with a photo of your favorite Morgans Hotel.

Now Accepting Your Photoshop Submissions for the Morgans Hotel Group Club Card

It goes without saying our newest obsession is the Morgans Hotel Group Global Club Card. We've got the full list of what this card gets you at Morgans Hotels and commenter wrote to tell us just how powerful this card is.

By far the biggest benefit I've seen is guaranteed access to their bars/clubs/restaurants, pretty much no matter what. My buddy walked 5 guys into the Delano on South Beach during a huge Super Bowl party, lines were around the block and we didn't wait 15 seconds.

Another tipster writes:

I have had a Global Card for at least 10 years. It was originally a Schrager one and then a new one was sent when Morgan took over.

It guarantees getting in the bars like Sky Bar Mondrian even when there's a big queue. I also always get upgraded at least 1 level often 2 when arriving at hotel. And the best thing is it's free.

So now we want one even more. But we'd also settle for a picture of one. The commenter told us it's a very simple card with a Morgans Hotel logo on it which we think is BORING! So we've decided to open up the Photoshop Submissions line for your ideas on what the card should look like. You don't have to be a PS Genius to do this. Heck, you can do it in Microsoft Paint if you like! Here we'll start it off for you!

What we imagine the MHG Global Card looks like.

Last week we were trying to nail down exactly what you get for being a Morgans Hotel Group Club Cardholder. We were able to suss out some very VIP perks like hotel room upgrades and priority access and reservations to all Morgans Hotels restaurants and bars but it turns out there's a whole lot more that these privileged card holders can receive.

A tipster and global card holder sent us (from his iPad, natch) a complete list of the perks. We've bolded the ones we like:

· Complimentary night at all of our new hotel openings around the world
· $100 in US Hotels or £100 in UK hotels for a standard room if available after 10PM

What is the Morgans Hotel Group Global Club Card? (And How Can We Get One?)

The other week we mentioned how the Sky Terrace was open for the season at The Hudson Hotel. The terrace, we noted, is open to hotel guests, select New York influencers and Morgans Hotel Group Global Card holders.

Naturally, any sort of secret club or exclusive card-holding group has us wanting more yet when we inquired about this club, a Morgans rep told us they were still finalizing some details about the program.

However, in doing some internet research, we learned the Morgans Hotel Group Global Card has been around for some time or at least since 2007.
