"Buy One, Get One Free" offers usually refer to things like magazine subscriptions and ice cream sundaes. In the case of Mexico's Rosewood Mayakobá resort the promotion is a "Buy Two Nights, Get the Third Free" deal at a hotel we once described as "a dash of Venice" with "a bit of Disney's Jungle Cruise, a shot of the Hobbit's Shire, and a touch of Tatooine mixed in for good measure."

Included in the offer, which is valid through December 15th and requires you to stay two-consecutive nights to get that third freebie, is daily breakfast. That early morning "extra" doesn't seem like much of a bonus, though, considering that ye old Continental Breakfast is standard fare at many hotels.

Giving Yourself To Mexico is Precious Thing

We've told you of the dangers of staying in Mexico (poop-stained sheets anyone?) But we realize that no matter what we say, some of you are still going to go.

So like a parent preaching safe sex, we're giving you an option that won't break your bank, is clean with helpful staff, won't ask you to do it because you love them and won't get you pregnant. At least we don't think.

The El Pescador in Puerto Vallarta is definitely el cheapo but with killer views (see above pic taken at sunset), an extremely friendly staff, and clean rooms.

Located right on the ocean and a couple of blocks from the Malecon or romantic boardwalk, the hotel provides some safety-net distance from the spring breaker bars. Instead it's situated right next to a great cabana bar, a supermarket, and several local taco stands in case you want to extend the el cheapo theme.

The hotel also features a pretty decent restaurant and a seaside pool. At $50 bucks a night and even less depending on the season, you'll totally have money left over to pay your medical bills back in the states to treat any weird rashes or illnesses you may have contracted from the taco stand.
