Mauritius Four Seasons Much Better Than Dentist's Waiting Room

If you fly all the way to Mauritius, you might as well stay somewhere flash--and after opening just last year, the Four Seasons Mauritius spa resort sounds like it fits that bill. A UK Times review this week definitely gave it the seal of approval.

The Four Seasons Mauritius has 123 different villas and apparently every one has a plunge pool and an open-air bathroom and, although we think you should probably go internet-free on this kind of vacation, there is WiFi throughout. The spa sounds especially modern, if you believe the reviewer:

The glassy relaxation room has a spirally ceiling, is scattered with hippy paperbacks and has the slight feel of an upmarket dentist’s waiting room.

We're hoping this is more a case of a hotel reviewer searching for a few new adjectives rather than a realistic impression of the place--a positive review shouldn't contain the words "dentist's waiting room", we figure.

Apart from that glitch, it sounds like this is easily the best place to stay on the island, so the prices match it. Rates start from around $900 a night but there are various packages available with free nights or breakfasts included as well.
