Today is National Tequila Day, one of our personal favorite holidays of the year--after National Margarita Day of course.
While many of you might be celebrating with some shots of Patron at a bar after work, down at the Las Ventanas Al Paraiso Resort, a Rosewood Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, it's an all-out affair. Never mind that the National Tequila Day holiday only applies to the U.S.
Here's what Las Ventanas has on offer for those love the tequila:
Chocolate Covered Tequila Ice Cream
Tequila Sunrise Popsicles
But only mentioning these tequila specialties and posting pics of them would just be cruel. And we're not like that. Neither is Las Ventanas. The resort has graciously shared the recipe for each tequila treat below so every day can be tequila day. Salud!

Now that we've actually seen one of the properties in person, we're even more ready to give the all-inclusive experience a whirl.
We peeped at the former Barcelo Cabo in Mexico as it was undergoing some last-minute touch-ups to turn into the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos, a family-friendly resort. (Hyatt Zilara in Cancún will be adults-only.)
The good news is that the Barcelo property is rather new (it opened in 2009) and so the rooms, public spaces, restaurants, meeting rooms, pools and even the kids' club area are all in excellent condition. (We especially loved the giant flat-screen TVs which also accessed the internet as well.) All Hyatt really had to do was make some cosmetic adjustments, change up the signs and tweak the all-inclusive plans.
You can read more about the plans here but the basic all-inclusive plan includes not just food and alcohol from the eight restaurants on-site (most are a la carte and only two are buffets) but also entertainment options, daily and nightly activities, fitness center, kids club and WiFi. The Club Premium Plan gets you a few more perks like private check-in, access to the Exclusive Premium Level Lounge, 20 percent off spa and salon services, welcome amenities and other goodies.

As the grand finale to cocktail week here's Part 2 of our round-up of some of the nifty things we see going on in the world of hotel bars and bevvies. Don't forget to let us know what’s going on in your section of the world!
Beer is the new wine: Before some of you get stressed out, we’re not saying that wine’s going away, but we have noticed that beer is getting more attention these days. Some hotel bars are making beer their “thing,” some are making their own and some are getting it made for them.
Most of us tend to only hang out at airport hotels when we’re going to and from a place, but the Four Points by Sheraton LAX has a 100-beer beererie called Brewster’s that includes an ever-changing tap list of craft and microbrews. They have an on-staff Director of Brewer Relations who ensures the beer list is fresh and filled with rare brews, monthly beer appreciation nights, beer pairings such as Smoked Stone Porter with smoked salmon, beer turndown service that includes a beer-stocked minibar, and a recently-launched Hoppily Ever After package that lets the happy couple-to-be create their very own custom, brewed-to-taste beer for their big day—isn’t that just so romantic?
Yet another hotel is planned for the distant future. We can expect a new JW Marriott hotel in Cabo San Lucas for 2015. The 300-room luxury beachfront resort will be set in Puerto Los Cabos, an eat, live and work planned community that will span about 2,000 massive acres. The Marriott will occupy 14 of those.
On the agenda for the hotel will be two restaurants, a casual grill, snack venue and an outdoor bar. There will also be the usual resort amenities and activities from pool and spa to fitness center and and tennis courts.
Life's unfortunately, not all play, so for the business crowd, the hotel will house 13,131 square feet of meeting space, which will consist of break-out rooms, a ballroom and a boardroom. Not to leave the kids out, a children's club is on the horizon as well.

We love Cabo San Lucas and apparently so does the White House, as President Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton chose the posh 57-casita and suite Esperanza Resort as the official host for the entire U.S. delegation during the G-20 Mexico Summit on June 18-19th.
Our question is, did the Prez have to stay all official-like the whole time, or did he manage to sneak away for a quick dip in the pool?

These days, amenities can make the difference between booking one hotel and kicking another to the curb. So, properties are upping their A-game. The latest trend? Wooing potential guests with two sure-fire hits: booze and technology. These hotels have got it right with these tasty and techy treats.
The Opus Vancouver goes a step beyond just offering in-room iPads. Guests are actually allowed to take those iPads anywhere off property, since the devices are equipped with GPS. Plus, customers will save money by avoiding international data charges if they forward their calls to the iPad and check emails there instead of on their smartphones. Genius!
NFL quarterback, Mr. Gisele Bundchen, er, we mean Tom Brady is not having too bad of an off-season. Check him out squealing with delight as rides down the water slide at a luxury hotel in Los Cabos, Mexico.
But while Deadspin is running the too-easy caption contest to go with this photo, we're trying to figure out where he and Gisele were staying.
Our first thought was One and Only as the colors and stone walls look very similar. Alas, One & Only doesn't have a water slide. Then in this shot Brady and the missus chilling by their private pool we spied some blue pool towels with a logo yet we still can't figure out which hotel it belongs to.
We rarely ever say this when it comes to celebrity hotel stays but Help! We didn't survive The Rapture only to be stumped by Tom and Gisele's Cabo hotel. If you think you know which resort made Tom squeal like a little girl, tell us in comments below!

If you wake up in a tequila haze tomorrow wishing you could remember what you did during last night's Cinco De Mayo celebration, don't fret as there's a chance to relive Cinco de Mayo every day this month at the One & Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, Mexico.
The luxe resort is offering several incentives for guests visiting this month starting with over $550 in complimentary amenities when you book a minimum three-night stay. That includes $200 in resort credit, round-trip airport transfers, two $50 gift certificates for ESPA massages, two rounds of gold at the signature Jack Nicklaus golf course and the deal sweetener, complimentary margaritas at the Agua Bar from 5-7pm every day.
And if you book a fourth night, you will get a fifth night free. You must book by May 27th. Go here to do so. Rates start at $1,000 a night for a Beach Front Terrace Junior Suite with a king bed. Yes, we know that's one expensive margarita. But soo worth it.
Every Valentine's Day, we're inundated with crazy hotel packages that would require a Real Housewives-sized budget (and aren't all that inventive). So this week, we're taking a look at affordable, but fun deals that us regular folks would book.
You know what's romantic? Somewhere warm with no snow, like Los Cabos. If you're looking to plan a special Valentine's Day getaway with your honey, you might want to show you care by upping sticks to celeb favorite One&Only Palmilla.
Talking pillows. Of course. Obvious candidates for a big hotel promotion campaign. Or have the Barceló Hotels group simply gone completely mad?
If only for novelty value alone, the new campaign from the Barceló group, "Pillow Talk", wins big points. It features six videos of two talking pillows, Sophie the Softie and Drew the Dreamer (who incidentally have their own Twitter accounts), as they dream of a better life. Spoiler alert, in case you want to watch all six videos and enjoy the suspense: Sophie and Drew end up finding this better life at the newest Barceló hotel in Mexico, the Barceló Los Cabos Palace Deluxe, which will open up on December 17, 2009 (or December 15, depending on which page of their website you trust).
Our mention last week of the turtles at the Hilton Barbados was obviously just the tip of the iceberg. No hotel worth its sea salt is ignoring the critters these days, and that's especially true of pretty much every hotel at Los Cabos in Mexico.
For example, the Hilton Los Cabos Resort shows its turtle-friendly colors by having its staff relocate turtle nests to safe "corrals" at the front of the hotel's beach perimeter so that the baby turtles can hatch safely. At the Las Ventanas al Paraiso they have their beach attendants guard the turtle nests and put up signs to warn off guests – and the part we nearly can't believe is that when the turtle eggs hatch, this happens:
The attendants swirl sashes in the air to frighten away any sea birds that may be lingering near the baby turtles.
Guests also get a small ceramic turtle on their pillow at night to commemorate the whole turtle experience here. And over at the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar, the attendants who get the (we guess quite boring) job of watching over the turtle nests must also register the date of birth of each turtle. Basically it all comes down to this: if you're heading to Los Cabos, you can't just check the room rates or amenities at a hotel you also have to check just how well they're taking care of the turtles.
When Stella went to go get her groove back, she jetted to a luxe-ish resort and dressed herself in cute linen-y, breezy outfits to look the part of upscale vacationer without a care in the world, looking gorgeous effortlessly. And while Stella went to go grab her lost groove in Montego Bay, we'd be down for hitting up a resort in North America and One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos appeals to the Stella in us.
Here's why: 'cause we could win ourselves a Tory Burch wardrobe to wear while we're down there. Oh, and we can win a trip down there for free along with the Tory duds.
The deal: Every day, the resort is giving away a Tory Burch Summer Essential Kit with a beach towel, a cosmetics bag, a tote bag and flip flops; you can enter to win one of them every day until July 15th. You can enter that little giveaway here.
And when you enter to win the kit, you're automatically entered to win the Grand Prize: a $1200 Tory Burch Shopping Spree (which, let's be real, will probably only stretch as far as 2 or 3 outfits) and a Four-Night stay at the One&Only Palmilla which includes roundtrip airfare for two, dinner for two at hotel's new Market by Jean-Georges and two massages during your stay.
Or you could just take the trip and gift the wardrobe money to us. We could use some new pairs of ballet flats and some breezy tunics.
