Fontainebleau For Florida Residents at $199 a Night

There's tons of hotel news flying around this week and we don't have time to give each and every story the love and attention it may deserve, so you will have to settle for some news briefs.

· Les Folies Berger Ends Its Run: The long-running topless revue at the Tropicana Hotel is ending its nearly 50-year run on arch 28, 2009. A new show will take its place although that is to be determined. [Las Vegas Now]

· $199 Rates at the Fontainebelau for Floridians: From now through February 11th, Floridians can get a special rate at the Fontainebleau, starting at $199 a night. The deal also includes 20 percent off select services and a 2pm late check-out. [Ocean Drive]

· Trammell Crow, Wyndham Founder, Dies: Trammell Crow, prolific Dallas developer and the man who started up the Wynhdam Hotel co. died today at the age of 94 on his farm in Texas. [Bloomberg]

· 800 Hotel Rooms Left in DC: You can still sleep in DC for Barack Obama's inauguration. DestinationDC reports that hotels withdrew their inventory from online travel booking sites to exert tighter control over bookings. Which led people to believe the hotels were sold-out. [Washington Post]

· Plane Crashes in Hudson, All Are Safe: A US Airways flight from New York to Charlotte crashed flying out of LaGuardia airport. All passengers have reportedly been rescued. [Jaunted]

Miami Hotel Mambo: Something for the Locals

The Angler's Boutique Resort which has just opened here in Miami Beach, is offering a Locals Only type of package, called simply the Miami Beach Getaway Package.

The package encourages guests to "Be a tourist in your own town" and offers two nights stay, breakfast daily, parking, a Premium Bottle Cocktail set-up(with mixers, garnish, ice and two glasses) and a fully stocked beach bag and beach set-up, complete with towels, sun block, water and Evian spray (What? No paddle ball equipment?)

The price is $490 and an upgrade to a balcony suite is just $90 extra. Or tack on two 30-minute in-room massages for an extra $150. Book directly with the hotel by calling 305-534-9600. Ask for Miami Beach Getaway. The deal is good from August 1 through November 15.

If you don't want the extras, the hotel is still offering special opening rates through November starting at $200 a night. But you can't combine the Getaway Package with any other deal.
