What Is It About Hotels That Makes People Act Naughty?
We love a good hotel party just as much as anyone else, but two major stories in the news this week are making us wonder: how much hotel partying is too much hotel partying? We're referring, of course, to the two major hotel scandals making headlines this week: the Secret Service's bachelor-party-gone-awry in Colombia, and Lindsay Lohan's TMZ-licious scandal at The Standard West Hollywood. Two separate, unrelated incidents, but both perfect examples of why some guests really need chaperoning more than others.
Sometimes, the misbehavior is confined to just the nightclubs, or just the rooftop bars, and that's perfectly OK. But, as we've seen, that's rarely the case.
For the rest of us not so innocent bystanders, the best we can do to avoid getting mixed up in any trouble is to keep the door tightly locked at all times; but that doesn't really address the problem. Whether it's guests getting a little too touchy-feely with housekeepers, or celebs behaving badly, there's just something about hotels that causes people to act a little naughtier than usual.

The Standard Hotel is The Hot New Place for Hot Messes
The girl in the box is actually NOT a hot mess.
The Standard Hotel on Sunset in West Hollywood has long been a famous spot for pretty much everything else aside from its hotel rooms thanks to its chicquarium, adult Sunday brunches and rotating art installations. And now this month, it's the hotel's secret club, Smoke and Mirrors, that's making the news.
For starters actress Amanda Bynes has been banned from the hotel after she was last spotted leaving the club drunk, just moments before she swiped a cop car and was arrested for drunk driving.
And today we learn that our old favorite hot mess, Lindsay Lohan has been accused of attacking a woman at the club for talking to a male friend of Lohan's. Lindsanity is denying the allegations, saying she was home all night but now a hotel employee is telling cops that he saw Lohan there. TMZ reports:

This Can't End Well: Lindsay Lohan Returns to the Chateau Marmont
The oft-repeated saying in Hollywood is "If get in trouble, do it at the Chateau Marmont but if you're Lindsay Lohan, a troubled actress whose every move is watched by tabloids, we'd say the iconic hotel tucked away above Sunset is the last place she should be right now.
About six years ago, Lohan racked up at $500,000 bill at the hotel while living at the hotel. Here's what she told Vanity Fair about the place back then:
"It's like a house, it's so weird. I'm like, 'This is my den.' Like, three people were lying on the second floor and walking up to my staircase." She catches herself and lets out a goofy laugh, "My Staircase!"
However, this time, Lohan won't have to worry about paying a hefty hotel bill. RadarOnline.com reports that an "artist friend" has loaned her his room while she finds a new place to live. But she will have to worry about nightlife temptations.

Well, At Least Lindsay Lohan Can Always Get a Free Room at a Dream Hotel
Ladies, dating the club promoter for the hottest club in town is sooo last decade. The new dating up trend is now hoteliers, or so Lindsay Lohan thinks.
We've long suspected that Lohan has been using dating the Dream Downtown's hotelier, Vikram Chatwal, but now it looks like The Superficial has the proof.
The gossip site posted a series of photos of Lohan and Vik inside Vik's apartment in Soho doing whatever it is two people like Lohan and Vik do. Apparently, these shots were taken before Lohan's disastrous attempt to get into some Fashion Week parties at the Dream Hotel.

Guess Who Was Causing A Bloody Racket At The Top Of The Standard?
It's not an entirely flattering photo of dear ol' Lindsay's back—but it's not an entirely flattering story about her either. The rumor, according to Hollywood Life is that hotel-lover Lindsay Lohan threw a full cocktail glass at a photographer while attending a V Magazine bash at the Standard's penthouse bar, Top of the Standard.
The photographer in question, @Jasper Rischen, is now feeling the heat as conflicting variations of the story arise. Did Lohan actually throw the glass? Or was it knocked over? Did a woman actually fall on the broken glass and slice her arm open? How many french fries were tossed? So many questions, so little time.

The Raleigh Hotel is Still Standing After Lindsay Lohan Has Her Way With It
Lindsay Lohan is back, bitches! No, not back like with a career or anything but back to her hotel-hopping ways. Her latest victim visit happened at The Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach on Saturday where she was seen looking worse for wear while smoking cigarettes by the pool.
Girl was in town for the Miami Heat game as well as a photoshoot for a local mag, Plum Miami. So far, The Raleigh Hotel survived Lindsay's stay, so maybe she has changed? However, her pool time wasn't the most relaxing as she tweeted:
Cant i just be with my sister @ a pool and have our salad!!!!! grrrrr met the sweetest girl whos 17 and has a child, she named her daughter Lindsay after me and it was an amazing feeling - g-d bless ariona marie valles.

What Lindsay Lohan and Vikram Chatwal Have in Common
It's an unlikely pairing--that of Lindsay Lohan and "hotelier" Vikram Chatwal but it turns out they have more in common than we thought--they have both given up on their careers.
It's been nearly four years since Lohan was arrested for her DUIs and she has yet to find redemption in the eyes of the American public and the legal system. Meanwhile, it's been nearly four years since Vikram hit his "finest hour" as a hotelier. After that, it seems he has largely been letting his father, Sant Singh, run the Vikram Chatwal Hotels business which includes the Dream and the Night Hotels brand (now in partnership with Wyndham.)
So maybe it was only a matter of time before these two met up.
We thought we spied Vik in one of these pics of Lohan out on the town in New York. Plus when we heard Linz was staying at a hotel in midtown we wondered whether it was the Dream. But as it turns out Vik put her up in the new luxe Chatwal Hotel. Page Six reports:

Lindsay Lohan Spends First Night Out of Rehab in a Hotel, Of Course
Let's try this again...mmmkay?
Lindsay Lohan has finally busted free of jail and rehab and in typical Lilo behavior she's spent her first night as a free (but sober) woman in a West Hollywood hotel, according to Radar Online.
Word is she is staying at this hotel until her Venice apartment is fully set up. While Radar hasn't dished on the hotel name, they do describe it as "upmarket," "boutique" and "top hotel."
Well that could describe several hotels in West Hollywood. While we're inclined to think Lindsay is back at her old haunt, The Chateau Marmont, there might be too many bad influences/memories for her there. After all, her last stay there after getting out of rehab did not do her good.
So maybe she's playing it safe at the Sunset Tower across the street which is super protective of their celebrity clientele. Then again, Sunset Tower is more protective of A-listers rather than perpetual rehabbers.

Lindsay Lohan's First Hotel Stop After Rehab? The Chateau Of Course
As Jennifer Aniston can attest, old hotel habits die hard. Lindsay Lohan has only been out of rehab less than a week but she's already making her way around town. And her first hotel stop out of rehab? The Chateau Marmont of course. At 11pm at night. Radar Online reports:
Lindsay drove to hotel in a brand new $150,000 Maserati Gran Turismo, with her friend Eilat Anschel arriving there at about 11 pm. They stayed for just over two hours, hanging out in the lounge with other friends.

Daddy Lohan Shacks Up at the Mondrian While Lindsay Gets Shackled in Jail
It's a sad great day for the American justice system as bad girl Lindsay Lohan has been carted off to jail for violating the terms of her probation stemming from drug charges and a DUI arrest.
But while Lohan was agonizing over the harsh realities of jail life, her dad Michael was checking into the Mondrian Los Angeles with his fiancee early this morning, according to the The Daily Mail. But don't worry, Daddy Lohan was thinking of Lindsay and he released a statement via his lawyer to show everyone how much he cares:
"Michael spent the morning praying for his daughter. He's devastated she's going to jail. He loves her very much and he'll pray for her."

Mixx at The Borgata to Mixx It Up With Sam Ronson Tomorrow
The Fourth may still be a week away but with hot temps already here, our minds are already stretched out by the pool. This weekend calls for 85 degrees in Atlantic City, and we have to admit that we're mighty tempted to jump on an ACES train and hit up the Borgata.
Tomorrow night is the Grand Re-Opening night at MIXX Nightclub, with resident DJ Samantha Ronson running the show, and on Sunday the SUNBAR pool party season kicks off at The Water Club. Question: Will a SCRAM bracelet prevent Lindsay Lohan from traveling out of state to stalk Ronson behind the DJ booth? We guess we'll find out.

The Bowery Hotel Loves You Sydney Fife
We're guessing "I Love You Man" actor Jason Segel isn't going to be using the name of Sydney Fife to check into the Bowery Hotel anymore, thanks to this gossip item, but it was fun while it lasted. The NY Daily News reports:
Jason Segel knows how to keep a low profile when he's in our fair city: We hear the funnyman uses the name of his character in "I Love You, Man" when he stays at the Bowery Hotel. "He checks in under Sydney Fife," says a source, who reveals that Segel uses the pseudonym when he has a rendezvous with a prominent upper East Side socialite.
