The Renaissance Times Square Was So Scary, Blake Lively's Face Froze

Don't be scared, Blake, it's just make believe!

OK, we'll be honest. When we first saw this photo, and read the caption about a special Halloween suite at the Renaissance Times Square being decorated by Madame Tussauds, we thought they were referring to a wax sculpture of Ms. Lively. Sorry, Blake! Your features just looked so....erm, lively lifeless.

Blake Lively stopped by last week for the debut of the hotel's "Dare To Check-In" Halloween suite. And since she is on the rebound from her short-lived relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio, Renaissance made sure there were plenty of toys to keep her distracted. Like tarot cards. Obviously, when you've just had your heart broken on the national news, a fortune teller is exactly the person you want to speak to.

While a number of stars are hanging around Hotel Martinez for the Cannes Film Festival, it looks like Leonardo DiCaprio is at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in the Cap d'Antibes nursing his broken heart.

Luckily, Gossip Girl Blake Lively was there to help DiCaprio, who recently split with longtime model gf Bar Refaeli. The two were spotted walking the hotel's gorgeous grounds together, and they "looked like a couple," the New York Post reported.

Leonardo DiCaprio to Play a Serial Killer Hotelier in New Movie

November 2, 2010 at 12:58 PM | by | Comment (1)

Normally when we talk about hoteliers here at HotelChatter, we're usually geeking out over their new hotel plans (and occasionally gossiping about their choice in love interests).

But here's one hotelier who creeps us out--Dr. H.H. Holmes, the serial killer who killed 27 people after luring him to his hotel during the World Fair in Chicago in 1893. And that's just the amount of murders he confessed to. Many people suspect there are way more victims.

Now Leonardo DiCaprio has been cast to play Dr. Holmes in a movie based on the book, "The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America" which chronicled Holmes' hotel of horrors.

While we give props to hoteliers today for adding screening rooms, recording studios and infinity pools in their properties, Holmes prided himself on his gas chambers, crematoriums and soundproof vaults that doubled as "guestrooms." Gives a new definition to the term hotel hell, huh?

On-On Hotel Offers History, Leo DiCaprio, and A Lousy Night's Sleep

All this week, HotelChatter's roving correspondent Claire Duffett will be reviewing several beach hotels that she visited during her trip through Thailand. Got questions or suggestions? Send them to us and we'll have Claire answer them for you.

On On Hotel’s name is a little deceptive because it isn’t technically a hotel. It’s more like the hostel from hell… and we mean that in the best way possible. Though we try to steer clear of hostel living, there are times when a place’s historical significance warrants an exception. Plus, we have a motto that always serves us well: If it’s good enough for Leonardo DiCaprio, it’s good enough for us.

Leonardo DiCaprio To Build Eco-Hotel in Belize

October 8, 2007 at 11:10 AM | by | Comments (3)

The rumor mill has been running this weekend on just what one of the hotel world's favorite guests, Leonardo DiCaprio, has got up his wealthy sleeve. Apparently he's taking his environmental passion to a new level and plans to open a new eco-hotel in the Caribbean.

DiCaprio already owns some jungle land in Belize and has allegedly struck a deal with the Four Seasons Hotel Group to build a green hotel there. The fine green details of what will make this resort a real eco-resort and not just a destruction of jungle haven't been released yet, but must be known because they're saying construction will start in January 2008. Word is that it'll be a super-luxury yet green resort, probably ready for a few of his Hollywood mates to enjoy a private vacation there. But seriously, check out his Eco-Site if you're still not sure if his green plans are for real.

Leo's Eco Hotel

June 29, 2005 at 12:36 PM | by | Comments (0)

According to reports, despite a nasty bottle cut to the face and neck, Leondardo Di Carpio is planning on opening an eco-hotel of the Belize Coast on a little island he just purchased.

"The Aviator" actor bought the 104-acre Blackadore Caye in the Caribbean sea, and is working with people from the nearby Cayo Espanto island to "develop an airstrip, infrastructure and top quality accommodation."

Huh, and all along we thought Johnny Depp was the one in Pirates of the Caribbean, oh well, since Leo is going to star in Aquaman this makes all the sense in the world--oh wait, that is only on HBO.

Leo is hoping to establish a luxury hotel that can make money without destroying the environment by using renewable energy sources and respecting wildlife and water resources.

We expect to see other environment friendly celebs like Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Larry David, and pretty much anyone else who drives a Prius in Hollywood, to visit.
