Have you ever heard of the Amgen Bike Tour? Neither had we, but apparently it’s the largest cycling race in the U.S., running over 800 miles on various courses from Sacramento to San Diego. Bike world superstar Lance Armstrong himself will also be racing in it this year.

Yet even superstar cyclists need a place to lay their weary...er,quads at the end of the race, so the Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook just north of San Diego is offering cyclists and cycling enthusiasts (we know you love it!) special packages between February 15-22.

Lance Armstrong Hits Up Palazzo And Venetian On Tour De Vegas

Where: Las Vegas, NV, 89109
September 29, 2008 at 9:00 AM | by Jenna | 1 Comment

We got word from a tipster that Lance Armstrong checked into the Presidential Suite at Palazzo Las Vegas on Wednesday of last week.

He arrived and sat down for a late dinner at the Wolfgang Puck restaurant which is not particularly worth noting except for one thing: the place is called CUT. Ha! Cut! Because that's obvi what the L-Man is all about (being cut? You know? Cause his body is cut? Yeah.)

So then he gallivanted around the hotel and hung out with his other cut friends.

Croissants and Beer for Lance Armstrong and Jake Gyllenhaal at Crillon Hotel

Go To The Hotel's Web
Site Where: 10 place de la Concorde, Paris, France, 75008

While other news reporters were asking how Lance Armstrong felt when fellow American Floyd Landis succeeded him as the Tour de France winner, we were wondering what he and new best friend Jake Gyllenhaal thought of the Crillon Hotel?

This luxe Parisian landmark is where Lance was staying during the tournament and Jakey was a constant visitor to his suite:

Wearing a sleeveless T-shirt, camouflage shorts and sneakers, the 35-year-old Texan was just back from a run and looked fit enough to compete in the race he once dominated. Yet telltale signs that those days were over were scattered on every side: from the cold beer and plate of pastries sitting on a table nearby, to the collection of friends, including actor Jake Gyllenhaal, who gathered around a TV set and insisted on switching channels in time to watch Tiger Woods win the British Open

Rumors are abound that Jake wants to play Lance in a biopic about the cycling star. Hence all the time the duo's been spending together biking, travelling, drinking beer, and eating hotel pastries. You know, guy stuff.

As for the Crillon hotel, the place is establishing itself as a sort of Jock Jam Hotel as the French football team held their World Cup 2006 homecoming there just a few weeks ago.

Sadly, no one seemed to care much about Landis' victory. Wait, who is Landis? What did he win?
