Once again, Jet Set Life's Kimberly Murgatroyd returns with another VIP Hotel Review. You may recall her last visit to the exotic Belvedere Hotel in Mykonos, Greece. This time she's landed stateside to revisit the XV Beacon Hotel. Enjoy.

Maybe I keep returning to Boston's XV Beacon Hotel because I'm a true New England girl at heart, or maybe it's that XV Beacon just gets what operating a luxury boutique hotel is all about. When you first walk into this, turn-of-the-century federalist meets modern hotel, there is an immediate feeling of warmth and a definite welcoming vibe.

Without a doubt, what makes this hotel so welcoming is the extraordinary staff that has turned anticipating a guests needs into an art form. From the front desk to the chauffeur, the staff could not have made us feel more at home. It's an obvious reflection of outstanding kindness and leadership from the general manager and the hotel's owner. The staff at XV Beacon are the heart and soul of this operation.

Jet Set Girl Flashes Her Black Card at The Fasano Hotel

Brightening up our dreary lives once more is Jet Set Life's Kimberly Murgatroyd who has graced us with another hotel review from an exotic location, making us eternally envious of her jet-setting ways. This time, she's touched down in Rio de Janeiro.

When speaking to the über-chic guests at the roof top pool of the Fasano Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, your conversation always turns to where you stayed B.F. (Before Fasano). You will get a variety of answers, yet everyone agrees that with the Fasano, Rio de Janeiro finally has a star on the hotel scene.

There was a lot of hype about the Fasano hotel opening in Rio. So, my husband and I decided to stay at this Ipanema property for ten-days during our second trip to Rio for New Year’s Eve. When we pulled up to the perfectly located Fasano, it was rather unassuming. Once inside we found a beautifully designed lobby pulling us in three directions.

To the right is the check-in and elevators, to the left are the plush couches of the lobby lounge and straight head, we can follow the narrow white curtain enclosed, lit pathway to Londra, one of Rio’s sexiest bars.

One thing we did notice is a lack of music in the lobby. No faint sexy beats of any kind can be heard, just guests chattering in multiple languages. This is something that we will determine is a consistent, yet easily correctable flaw in many areas of the hotel.

Once again, Jet Set Life's Kimberly Murgatroyd returns with another VIP Hotel Review. You may recall her last visit at the Don Carlos Resort in Marbella. This time she's chillaxing in Mykonos at The Belvedere Hotel. Enjoy.

Some jet-set destinations come and go, but Mykonos has actually been an island getaway dating back to the 11th century BC. This island is so sexy that even Zeus fought over it! Enough history, let's get to the good stuff.

My husband and I did a two week stint for our yearly honeymoon during mid-July when the season, which in my opinion, is perfect. The weather is warm, yet not humid. The island is crawling with a mix of weekend visiting Athenians and the beautiful Italians.

For those in the know,The Belvedere Hotel is the only hotel on the island that delivers the kind of service, vibe and consistently chic attitude that you want from your Greek island getaway.

Our next VIP reviewer is Kimberly Murgatroyd, the pretty young thing behind My Jet Set Life blog. Her motto is "Excuses are over. It's time to live." And indeed she does. Here she gives us her insider take on the Don Carlos Resort in Spain. Enjoy.

For my husband and I, deciding to spend a few weeks enjoying Spain's sunny Costa del Sol was easy, however deciding where to stay wasn't. There are some great hotels in Marbella, although I found that the Don Carlos Leisure Resort & Spa was the perfect place to park my jet set suitcase for a few weeks.

During our stay, the hotel celebrated their new five-star rating with a large party in the hotel's gardens. However, I think the rating was a little ambitious considering the check-in process and staff is average. They also don't have a concierge, and getting help with local restaurants, directions and things to do seems more three-star than five-star.
