In case you were wondering what Kid Rock and Wolfgang Puck were doing last night, they were attending the opening festivities of the brand new MGM Grand Detroit Hotel and Casino.
The opening was celebrated with a VIP black-tie affair attended by Grammy-nominee Kid Rock and Grammy-Award -winners Ashanti and Anita Baker, along with celebrity chefs Wolfgang Puck and Michael Mina and many other Detroit dignitaries.
The official opening of the doors was commemorated with a visually stunning celebratory moment that lit up the neighborhood and the skyline.
As the property's spectacular Grand Garden was illuminated for the first time, fireworks signaled a new era for downtown Detroit with matchless amenities and accommodations never before available in the Midwest.
Looks like San Diego won't be having all the rock'n'roll fun. The Hard Rock Biloxi is scheduled to open this July, almost two full years after Hurricane Katrina destroyed it--and just two days before it was originally scheduled to open. After rebuilding, the hotel is set to have heaps of casino games, including a poker room, a steak house and a full service spa. (So you can turn it up to 11 while getting a seaweed wrap?)
Though the reservations line isn't yet open--that happens on June 1--we're fairly confident the place will open on time. After all, they've got Kid Rock, Cheap Trick and even Poison lined up to play this summer. The former Mr. Pam Anderson even gets the honor of christening the hotel: His show is slated for 7/7/07--opening night. And that's not the only batch of 7s in this joint. The address is 777 Beach Boulevard. So let's hope this place brings guests some luck.
There was bound to be some fireworks when exes Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson were in Las Vegas hosting separate New Year's Eve parties across the street from each other.
KID Rock wanted to ring in the New Year with a fist to Tommy Lee's face - but he beat up a door at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, instead. "Kid is divorcing Pam Anderson, but he heard [her ex] Tommy was hooking up with her, and got all riled up," our source said. "So he went over at 6 a.m. with two bodyguards, and began kicking down what he thought was Tommy's door. Only it wasn't - and Kid found himself staring at some poor, startled family. He signed an autograph for them as security arrived, then bolted over to the Paradise strip club."
Ahh...nothing chases the blues away like strippers and champagne. We should just be thankful that Kid Rock actually signed an autograph instead of beating the crap out of the family.
Kid Rock is just the latest in this week's celebrities behaving badly.
The target of Rock's angst was the ever-lurking paparazzi outside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. According to Page Six, a husband-wife paparazzi team says:
The rap-rocker and his entourage beat up two of their staffers who were waiting for Rock outside Teddy's in the trendy Roosevelt Hotel just after 2 a.m. "They stole their cameras, their bags, everything," [the wife of the paparazzi team] tells Page Six. "They just threw it in the back of Kid Rock's limo and drove off."
Sadly, someone who still admires Kid Rock was trying to get a CD autographed when he got caught in the fray and was "punched and kicked and left lying on the ground." But it doesn't stop there. Other clubgoers who stepped outside decided to beat him up some more.
Looks like the Roosevelt has finally jumped the shark and is now letting in gangster thugs with angry fists. We all know it's downhill from here. Soon the Tropicana Bar will be hosting $1 shot nights and Amateur Karaoke contests.
