Surely not to be outdone by the Raleigh Hotel which is hosting Miami's Swimwear Fashion Week, The Standard Miami was the setting for a W Magazine photo shoot entitled "Summer Camp" by Bruce Weber featuring hot designers and models like Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy and Lara Stone.
The Standard website is even promoting the photo shoot where the girls roll around on Standard beds, lounge on a stack of pool chairs, parade around half-naked near a massage table, and other very interesting poses.
Let's just say there's a lot of (artistic) boobies and butt...you know, just your average summer camp experience.
The Atlanta blog, Around Midtown, has posted some pics of the conversion of the W Hotel Midtown from a Sheraton on their site and this is what the new W will look like. What's going on there? Well Around Midtown breaks it down:
Now construction is finally at the point where you can see some of their plans unfolding, which include painting the predominantly cream building a slate color, accented by a linear black effect up the building. The retaining walls at the ground level are being covered with a slate.
While anything is better than a fugly Sheraton, we have a feeling the folks in Hotlanta might get sick of W Hotels soon. Aside from this one and the current W Atlanta Perimeter, there are Ws set for downtown and BuckHead. Maybe they should just call it Watlanta. Ok, bad joke, we know.
Somehow someway the world's biggest living druggie, Pete Doherty, is not in jail or rehab. And somehow someway the once-beautiful Kate Moss thinks he's attractive.
Most recently, the mismatched duo have been staying in a 1,500 pound-a-night suite at the Claridge's Hotel in London for a few days reconciling and probably doing some other stuff. This is London writes:
Doherty, 28, was last night pictured returning to the hotel after walking free from court on a technicality following a police blunder.
He had faced jail for breaching bail conditions. But because officers didn't bring him to court within 24 hours of his arrest, magistrates were forced to let him go.
There was no sign of Miss Moss coming or going from the hotel yesterday but sources said the pair had been meticulous about leaving and arriving separately.
They've also been having some boisterous room parties as hotel security ejected some of their friends once the room occupancy was exceeded.
God we feel sorry for the Claridge's housekeeping staff.
If you're into celeb sightings, don't let them fool you like Kate Moss tried to do. At the re-launch of the newly renovated May Fair Hotel in London Kate put on a Manchester accent pretending to be a lookalike to avoid attention:
The Croydon-born supermodel tried to trick guests, but when she was approached she insisted she was a Mancunian lookalike.
"People genuinely thought she was someone from Manchester who happened to look like Kate Moss," The Sun quoted a partygoer, as saying.
Nice try Kate but you wouldn't fool us. Londoner accent or Manchester, there just aren't many people that look like you. Besides this was the Mayfair, they only deal with the real celebs.

According to Scene in the Tropics Moss checked into the hotel with her mother and daughter a few days ago for a photo shoot, natch. While going topless ain't nothing new at the Delano, photogs were reported to be stalking Moss from all angles of the hotel. So it's no wonder her ta-ta couldn't get some privacy.
Kate Moss gets around. Despite the whole cocaine snafu, she's still managed to party it up--first at Scores with Lindsay Lohan and now she's moved onto Jack Osborne.
The two were caught getting hot and heavy at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Teddy's-- the ultra-exclusive lounge.
Celeb onlookers who supposedly had to watch this illegal tongue action were Natalie Portman, Jessica Simpson and Kate Hudson.
If we can actually believe this happened, and we are so sure Entertainmentwise is a credible source, we still wouldn't be all that surprise since the Roosevelt has just become the hotel industry's wild child--the new Riot Hyatt if you will.
According to UK's Sunday Mail rag, Kate Moss is currently holed up at the Mercer Hotel in Soho where she has been in pseudo hiding since last Friday.
Why is she seeking refuge at the Mercer? Could be because of all the recent photos floating around showing her cutting up 20 lines of white powder? Or maybe it is because of the even more recent reports that Kate Moss allegedly organized cocaine-fueled orgies with Sadie Frost and another woman, then Sadie Frost and Jude Law, then a gaggle of other women?
Well, either way, it seems that the above described alleged incidents could effect Moss's lucrative fashion contracts and who has custody of her daughter, thus, Kate has thrown away her Mercer room key and latched herself inside with just her "young" female assistant Fiona Young in the room.
