A few weeks ago, we visited the southern-most beach town of the Jersey Shore, Cape May, located at Exit Zero of the Garden State Parkway. Unfortunately, the words “Jersey Shore” have been heavily tainted in recent years, so we must first ask that you get all that bad imagery out of your head.
Cape May is far from the obnoxious Jersey boardwalk scene you’ve seen on television. It boasts great seafood, raw bars, wineries, campgrounds, beach bars, and the second-highest concentration of Victorian buildings behind only San Francisco – most of which house bed and breakfasts.
During our visit, we spent the night at the Blue Rose Inn, one of the newest B & Bs in town. We chose them not only because they recently opened at the beginning of the summer season, but because they are putting a new spin on the B & B concept, one we think other future inn owners might want to consider.
My, my, my, how things have changed over the past two years. Back in December of 2009, The W Hoboken's Chandelier Room turned down the cast of the Jersey Shore from making a paid appearance at the club. But just last month, the hotel was the scene of a very important Jersey Shore event--Snooki's engagement.
Yes, Snooki (real name: Nicole Polizzi) and Jionni are engaged. And expecting! And they tell all in this week's Us Magazine. The entire Q&A is pretty much off the charts on the unintentional comedy scale but we had to share with you the bit about their engagement. It goes something like this:
Us Weekly: You're also celebrating your engagement? How did you propose, Jionni?
JL: On Valentine's Day
NP: It was at the W Hotel in Hoboken--a room with a view of New York City. It was so beautiful.
JL: I wanted to do it on the balcony. That's why I got a room with one.

In the ever-expanding universe of Twitter, there is one particular trend @HotelChatter happens to quite enjoy: candid hotel room photos. These Twitpics range from stunning views to anti-views to celebrity tomfoolery and everything in between. And we can't get enough of 'em! Every Monday, we will feature one "Twitpic of the Week" to commemorate our favorite hotel-themed snapshot. Got a favorite of your own? Want to show off your sweet suite? Send it in!
Celebrity Fact #1: Any photo is a new chance to show off their bling. Celebrity Fact #2: Certain celebs like to coin their own little catchphrases (see: Paris Hilton's "that's hot," or Justin Bieber's "swag"). So when @DJPaulyD found this no-smoking sign in his hotel room, he just couldn't pass up the opportunity to do a little Twitpic-ing. He tweeted:
"See Now This Is My Kinda Hotel Room #fresh"
The cast of the Jersey Shore is about to start shooting their fifth and final season in Seaside Heights, NJizzle again and we all know where they are staying. We practically know the Jersey Shore house as well as we know the Shore house that we spent every summer in back in the 80s.
But we got a random tip over the weekend about where the production crew will be staying--you know, the people who have to plan the logistics for Snooki, Jwoww, Ronnie, Sammi, Vinny, Pauly D, Deena and The Situation and catch all their drunken escapades, hookups and fights on camera.
It turns out the crew is spending at least 10 days at The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in nearby Asbury Park.
The Jersey Shore gang may be distracted with its various spin-offs, including what sounds to be a Laverne & Shirley wanna-be show with JWow and Snooki, another one that follows Pauly D's DJ career and now a show focusing on the Situation. But you can still get your fill of Seaside Heights hijinks with CheapOAir's Memorial Day hotel packages.
Could it be that Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola has finally gotten over Jersey Shore boyfriend Ronnie? The constantly yelling reality star was seen stepping out of the Hotel Gansevoort with another reality star, Kim Kardashian buddy Jonathan Cheban of The Spin Crowd.
There probably wasn't any hanky-panky going on there. After all, he's not her type—a big gorilla juicehead. We're guessing she's looking to employ the publicist to give her image a much-needed makeover, since she's known as one half of one of the most toxic couples on reality TV.

Now that the Rose Bar at Gramercy Park has shuttered their secret, invite-only music sessions, The Plaza is at the ready to fill in the gap on the elite NYC music scene with their new Artist in Residence series in the hotel's famed Oak Room. (Perhaps they were inspired by Lady Gaga's impromptu performance?)
The first artist on the schedule is Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of Billy and Christie Brinkley. The NY Post reports that her debut tonight is completely sold-out and that a "very special guest" is set to attend (we're gonna go with Billy.)
Alexa will also be performing on December 27, January 3 and January 10. The shows start at 9:30pm with dinner available at 8pm. Tickets cost $100 a piece and can be purchased by calling 212-758-7777.
We're not going to lie, we're getting kind of jealous of the Jersey Shore crew. That's because they've gone from bunk beds and tanning salons in Sleazeside Heights, New Jersey to the finest hotels in the country.
Rooms at the "Pretty Woman" hotel start at $445 a night. That's like 8 Ed Hardy t-shirts! But while the hotel's Lea Journo hair salon has plenty of services for men, including a pedicure and deep conditioning treatments, tanning is sadly not an option for the Sitch here.

After watching Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino completely break down these past two weeks on "Jersey Shore" (fighting Angelina, trying to pull a robbery on Vinny's
cougar girl, smacking Snooki in the mouth) as well as on "Dancing with the Stars" (his wooden dancing skills were voted off this week), this latest news about The Plaza's own situation with The Situation has us very concerned.
According to the NY Post, The Situation and The Plaza are in talks to make him the face and partner of a new luxury gym that would open in The Plaza's retail spaces where the old Radu gym used to be. NOMG!
"There will be a very select clientele. Members would need letters of reference, and there will be a high initiation fee. The Situation will be originating a workout program, and he'll occasionally teach abs class himself."
WAIT, IT GETS WORSE:
Our source said, "The deal could also be rolled out to other Fairmont hotels."
OMFG, it's almost here. The second series of the Jersey Shore debuts on MTV tomorrow night. And if you can't be in Seaside Heights with the crew, the next best thing has to be partying in South Beach, just like the cast did in this next installment.
Unfortunately for massive Sitch-and-Snookers fans, the Metropole Hotel scrapped its plans to rent out the Jersey Shore Suite (guess all that GTL'ing doesn't leave guidos and guidettes much cash for fat digs, after all). But! Its sister hotel, The Catalina is hosting a huge Jersey Shore 2 Viewing Party tomorrow night, and you're invited.
The art above the bed in this boutique hotel says "Vive La France" and the Queen of England appears in a piece of lobby art. But make no mistake about, the Bungalow Hotel is in New Jersey. The Jersey Shore, to be exact. And while we love the look of its clean, South Beach-inspired decor courtesy of Sixx Design, the place is booked out on weekends for the rest of July and August.
Thanks a lot, Jersey Shore and all you Snookers and Situation groupies!
The Tropicana – where the crew actually visited in episode seven - is still running its very amazing Jersey Shore Package until June 26. As we mentioned before, the package gives you dinner, bed and breakfast (boring), VIG* admission to Providence nightclub, and IN cards giving discounts for nightlife, food and parking.
So far, so standard, but then it gets fun. You also get a room service basket “stocked with Italian delights” like artichoke hearts (the only hearts you should be opening up on the Jersey Shore), a Snooki pouf or guido blow-out courtesy of the Trop Salon, and a photo op with a life size cut-out of the cast.
