Scoping Out The Trump SoHo With Ivanka on 'Nightline'

In case you missed it, Ivanka Trump was on Nightline last week, talking about nepotism, her conversion to Judaism, her impending marriage, and—our favorite part—Trump SoHo. There’s not too much of the hotel’s much-vaunted Rockwell design to see in this clip, but if you want to see Ivanka in construction boots, this may be as close as you’ll get without stalking the still-in-the-works hotel. (She says her dad would kill her if he saw her in 4-inch stilettos on a construction site.)
You can kinda sorta see the view from the Terrace Penthouse, even though it’s raining and Ivanka doesn’t want to go out on the balcony. For the rest of the details, we turned to the hotel’s press release to get our imagination working …

Ivanka Trump Wants You to Spend The Night at Trump Soho

Want to be one of the first to stay at the new Trump SoHo opening in February? And meet Ivanka Trump? (And, no, it doesn’t involve becoming an apprentice chamber maid or front-desk clerk.) In a promotion we can totally get behind, the hotel has a “Trump SoHo Hotel Countdown” website which includes a contest to win a two-night stay in a spectacular suite, dinner for two at Quattro, and a VIP invitation for the hotel’s big opening bash with Ivanka.
It couldn’t be easier to enter—just punch in your email address. Plus! Reading the fine print for the sweepstakes gave us some valuable intel on the hotel’s opening timeline. The Trump SoHo’s Twitter page says the hotel does not have an official opening date yet—listing “February 2010” in their bio—but here’s what we found reading the contest rules:

The Fashionable and The Fabulous Descend on Paris
It's Couture Collection week in Paris, which naturally means lots of pretty people dressed in avant-garde black outfits are stepping in and out of the city's poshest hotels, each one carefully matched to their image. Luckily for us, Fashion Week Daily did the leg work of discovering the favorite properties of the power players, and exactly where Ivana Trump does her dry cleaning.
Some of the choices of the fashion set are unsurprising; Houston Socialite Becca Cason Thrash sleeps at The Ritz and Hilary Alexander of The Daily Telegraph hunkers down at the Hotel Normandy. Others keep second houses in town or shack up next door to Chanel on Rue Cambon, as is the case with Daphne Guinness. What really surprises us, however, is Ivana Trump's obsession with the Hotel Le Bristol, a "grand dame" property known for its discreetness, and apparently, its excellent dry cleaning service. Since it is a fashion week, we'll forgive Ivana for thinking the laundry to be the most noteworthy bit of a hotel.

Snapshot :: Guess What's On the Tables at Trump Las Vegas?

Catalogs for Ivanka Trump's jewelry collection!
Yup. It's true. That's pretty much all your reading material here at Trump Las Vegas. In fact, there's not even an in-room compendium to browse through while killing time in the suite. It figures Trump would only promote Trump in his properties.
We're holed up here right now and while the full review will be forthcoming tomorrow, we'll let you know that despite the lack of in-room reading material, we're actually liking Trump's place.
The hotel does not have a casino or any sort of nightlife for that matter (aside from the DJT Steakhouse) but that's actually a welcome change for a frequent Vegas visitor like ourselves.
The suite we're in has a king bed, a kitchenette and two full bathrooms--one of which is the size of our living room.
So far, the only downsides are slow-ish service, $11.99 WiFi charge and being able to hear the sirens 44 floors below. What? Did The Donald not soundproof these gold-carat windows?

Ivanka Trump Back to Being Ivanka Trump
Yesterday, we were stunned to hear of the lovely Ivanka Trump's quick trip to regular-people-land (which involved staying at the Quality Inn and munching on Little Caesar's), but today we've learned that girlfriend is back to doing what she does best: hawking her father's crap.
WWD has the scoop:
Ivanka Trump, who visited the Windy City recently to show her fall jewelry collection at J.Mendel's Michigan Avenue boutique, didn't miss the opportunity to promote (albeit graciously) the new Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. The statuesque blonde, who wore her own diamond tassel earrings, mentioned that while in Chicago she stayed at the hotel, received several spa treatments that day and dined for both lunch and dinner at the hotel's restaurant Sixteen, where she enjoys the admittedly rich porcini ravioli.
How sweet of her to plug her dad's businesses! And she was rewarded nicely for it, too: Ivanka's getting a bit of retail space in the hotel to open up a boutique for her jewelry line.

Ivanka Trump Sleeps at the Quality Inn

Ivanka Trump might be plugging all of her father's monstrous luxury hotels all over the world, but when her flight got cancelled in Salt Lake City, she humbly spent the night at the Quality Inn. Page Six reports:
Meanwhile, she flew commercial to Aspen last weekend for the Annual Food & Wine Classic, but had an unexpected one-night layover in Salt Lake City due to storms. She slept at the Quality Inn and ate at Little Caesars for dinner with her $18 stipend from the airline.
We're impressed that Ivanka spent the night in an airport hotel where the rooms are badly in need of an upgrade, so say TripAdvisor reviewers. But Little Caesar's? That's pushing it.
