The Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong gets into the Easter spirit by asking the age old question--which comes first--the chicken or the egg?
To be honest, we prefer not to get into such debates. Instead, we'll focus on the cute as hell eye candy brought to you front-and-center from the hotel's delectable Mandarin Cake Shop.
Sing it now, "rubber ducky, your the one..." What, you don't know this song? Gah! To the corner with ya!

...Miami's Epic Hotel!
When this Kimpton hotel does a pool party--they do it up right, as you can see. Last night, this benefit party, called "A Sound for All The Senses" was for a cause--to support The Starkey Hearing Foundation. The DJ of the night was none other than "That Deaf Dj", aka Robbie Wilde. Wilde, who's been playing clubs for more than a decade, has been 90% deaf since age 11. He didn't let his disability detract him from his love of music, and he has soared to, well, epic heights in the DJ world.
Apparently his music not only inspires people to get on the dance floor, but groove in the pool as well.
So we say "Salute!" to Wilde and his wild, funky style! Looking for a place to party this weekend? Check out the Epic!
..The Montage Beverly Hills and its view of Beverly Drive.
While the Central and East Coast are shaking in their boots wondering if/what kind of weather monstrosity is going to hit in the next few days (it's March, right?), this West Coast cutie is standing proud on the corner saying "Snow who? Snow what?"
The Montage knows not of such snowy thangs in Cali-for-ni-a. And we just love this pretty pic they posted on Intagram boasting all their hotness. Perhaps this snap it will inspire you to appreciate your warmth (if you live in such weather) or get out of the cold by taking a look-see at our Caribbean Guide.
There's a reason why Al Roker and Storm Phillips have huge followings. Weathermen have influence! Donchaknow?

Happy New Year from Shangri-La Hotels!
Of course, a Hong Kong-based hotel portfolio would get a little loud about the Chinese New Year. It's the most important holiday in, not only the Chinese culture, but also a good portion of Asia. And with the number of hotels Shangri-La has opened in China, it's pretty fitting.
Shangri-La has welcomed the 'Year of the Snake' via their Instagram account. While the name sounds vicious, there's nothing poisonous about this serpent—he's made of flowers coiled around a tree in one of their properties.
Officially, Hong Kong celebrates the holiday starting today, the 11th, but many other Asian countries take part in the holiday from the 9th to the 13th. With a wealth of customs that accompany the special time of year, we can only hope for the traditional red envelope filled with monatary gifts when checking into our hotel on the New Year.

...the Beverly Wilshire! The hotel helped Today Show host Savannah Guthrie do her best "Pretty Woman" impersonation outside the property.
No doubt with all those bags she was getting her shopping on in anticipation of the upcoming Oscars. The tv segment can be seen here. http://ow.ly/gNLdP

...the Sunset Tower Hotel.
What can only be described as one of the most thrilling events of last night's Golden Globe awards was President Bill Clinton taking to the stage and introducing a clip from "Lincoln", the nominated film from director Steven Spielberg.
It was apparently an unexpected appearance, and we're certain there were more than a few swooning ladies (and men) in the Beverly Hilton's International Ballroom.
So, we're even more delighted to come across this Instagram photo from the hotel saying "Proud to have Former Pres Clinton with us after the #goldenglobes last night."
Normally the STH is home to Vanity Fair's post-Oscar party, so we're not sure if there was a post GG soiree going on, but we're impressed with the prez's choice of digs (it's Jennifer Aniston's go-to) as it's full of character, moderately priced at around $300 a night, and a pretty class act, to boot.

With all the design details in hotels, it's no wonder they're the perfect place to get creative with Instagram photos. We're kind of obsessed with browsing the #hotel tag, and every once in a while, we bring you 5 of our favorite shots that impart major wanderlust. And don't forget to follow our own shots on Instagram under "hotelchatter," "jaunted" and "vegaschatter."

For Ace's next California location, the hip hotel brand has honed in on LA's re-emerging Downtown neighborhood, and even better, work has already begun on converting a 1927-built United Artists movie theater into a 180-room hotel. OK, fine, that part we already knew.
But it looks like the Ace team has actually set a tentative opening date of Fall 2013, which would make it the Ace's fifth property in 14 years. Compared to the big corporate entities, that's practically nothing, but then again that's why we like the Ace so much. After all, we don't see Hyatt or Hilton going in and restoring 2,214-seat movie theaters out of the kindness of their hearts.
Furthermore, Ace has now created an interim Los Angeles page on their website, and last night, posted the above photo on their Instagram feed, generating more than a few excited responses from fellow Instagram-ers:
A hotel Instagram of our own
Hotels...they're finally getting it. Social media, we meanthey're getting social media, and the latest example of this is a major Instagram contest to award a mobile photographer with a new camera, a hotel stay, a display of their image and mentions in the press.
The contest, hosted by Washington DC's Dupont Circle Hotel asks for submissions that have a theme of a circle reflect "the spirit of Washington DC." Just contributing an image to the contest earns you a free cocktail at the hotel, so that's like $14 right there. Naturally there are more detailed rules; see them below.
Back in May, the W New York Times Square became the first hotel to host a formal exhibition of Instagram photography. The event must've been quite successful, because it's now spreading to the W Chicago Lakeshore, who tonight host the opening of their own Instagram showthe first official Instagram exhibit in Chicagocomplete with culmination of a contest.
After receiving over 7,500 entries, the W Lakeshore chose one photo to crown the exhibition, and it'll be unveiled this evening between 6-8PM in the Living Room and Wave Patio with "cocktails, interactive moments, Instagram portraits and DJ Megan Taylor," according to Racked Chicago.
The party is open to the public, and we'll be there amongst the crowd doing the very meta thing of instgramming instagrams. Charge up your phone and see you there?

In the ever-expanding universe of Twitter, there is one particular trend @HotelChatter happens to quite enjoy: candid hotel photos. These pics range from stunning views to anti-views to celebrity tomfoolery and everything in between. And we can't get enough of 'em! Every Monday, we commemorate our favorite "Twitpic of the Week." Got a favorite of your own? Want to show off your sweet suite? Send it in!
It's no secret that the James Chicago likes to offer fun little "extras" at the hotel: whether that's a pop-up ice cream shop, or a noteworthy artist-in-residence program or an in-room cocktail amenity. And so we weren't too surprised to see a recent guest tweet this photo of one of the hotel's 26 in-room DVD projectors.
