The Next Must-Have Hotel Amenity Could Be a Music Studio

Inside a typical room at the PuroHotel Oasis Urbano
Where do the heavy hitters of the music industry stay when they're far away from their mansions and second and third homes? Well, they either go way remote and luxe like a cabana in the Seychelles or they go somewhere with good proximity to a studio, like a friend's mansion with home studio or a hotel nicely located near one. Well, Mallorca's Puro Hotel Oasis Urbano is keeping their music industry guests happy by just building one into the hotel.
Apparently Puro, a hotel that has it's own music mix albums in the minibar, is the place to stay for visiting DJs, who are a big part of the cultural scene on Palma de Mallorca. The new music studio, opening in March 2011, will be in a private wing, a "completely new area which can be hired exclusively by musicians, or small groups looking for a private space to celebrate."

Simple Is The Name of the Game at San Fran's Mosser Hotel
The Mosser Hotel in San Francisco put itself on the map because it's the only hotel in the The City by the Bay with its very own recording studio. Studio Paradiso is perfect for musicians to roll through and lay down a couple tracks (and it has open studio happy hours with free drinks, so maybe we'd even record something), but the somewhat teensy rooms aren't suited for rockstars or divas.
But you're not a rockstar and you're probably pretty stingy with the ol' pursestrings right now, so take another look at this spot. We were cruising Flickr and found this snapshot and a mini-review from super-satisfied guest caribb:
Perfect for me who would be sleeping getting up going out for the day and coming back only to just sleep the night through again. It was clean, quiet, simple in style with all the necessary hotel amenities plus the best location I could have asked for. The downtown Mariott was across the street at probably 3 times the price. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful too... so anyone going to San Francisco and wanting to stay downtown without paying a fortune try this place at 54-4th Street.
Rooms with a single bed and a shared bath start at only $55.00, and a deluxe queen (private bathroom and a queen bed) will run you an easy $89.00.

Living It Up While We're Going Down at the Setai
Let's get this out of the way now: we apologize for the careless use (and blatant abuse) of lyrics from various Top 40 Hip-Hop jams in this post, but: this Miami package is for true ballers only and we're sorry but we can't accurately describe it without using words like "baller." Because, um, it's only for true ballers -- cause it will cost you $10,000.
The Setai's "Party Like a Rock Star" package is exactly what you think it is: you get to pretend you're a rock star and lay down hot tracks at a studio and spend an evening all up in da club with a bottle full of bubb.
You may remember the Setai for its 2,500-square-foot recording studio, designed by Kravitz Design, which we told you about this summer -- and, obviously, the space comes into play here. With the package, you'll get five hours of studio time, and whether your music is the stuff of platinum records or not, you'll still get VIP access for four people to SET Nightclub (including a table and 2 bottles of alcohol for you and your entourage).
Valid until December 31st, the 10K 3-night package will get you the rock star life, which also includes a one-bedroom suite for 3 nights, transfer to and from airport in a Range Rover (yo' street in the Range Rover, people), a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne upon arrival (there's your bottle full of bubb), dinner for 4 in the restaurant (with wine pairings) and enough music and photo ops to build yourself a pretty kickass MySpace profile that makes you look rich and important.

Sunset Marquis Unveils New and Improved Villas
The Sunset Marquis -- the West Hollywood hotel with one of our favorite taglines ("if we were any more Hollywood, our pool would be shallow at both ends") -- has just reopened with a fresh new look after its $20 million expansion.
The hotel's reps just emailed us a bunch of pics of the new villas and it looks like the place is indeed even more Hollywood now.

The Five Best Hotels With Recording Studios

Imagine you are a jet-setting rock star and your label is being really pushy about getting you to lay down some new tracks for your album. But all you really want to do is be big pimpin' all over the world. Is there a way to do both? Actually there is.
A few hotels offer recording studios inside their properties, making it possible for rock stars and pop stars to take a working vacation.
Of course, you don't need to be a big time rock and pop star to book these hotel studios, you just need plenty of cash.
That means any monied up schmo can throw down a hack version of Chocolate Rain, upload it somewhere, dream of going viral, then end up on VH1's The Best Week Ever. Ah, the wonders of the new millenium.
