Just because you've been recently laid-off from your job, doesn't mean you can't live the high life. We told you about the five best hotels (under $100!) to stay at and we let you know about a place in Cabo where you can black-out every night for $60. Now we learn about the Arabian Park Hotel in Dubai which is offering a free dinner to those now without a job.
All unemployed dinner-seekers have to do is show up with their layoff letter in hand. And yes, the offer applies to out-of-towners willing to make the trip to the Gulf Arab sheikdom.
While the deal is good to anyone laid off in the world, it seems several property developers in Dubai have been slashing their employee numbers too. The Arabian Park like other hotels in Dubai are reporting some drops in business last month so the free dinners are not only a way of helping out but also a way to attract some new guests.

Aside from our own misgivings about Mexico, this deal is perfect for the recently laid-off employee who wants to drown their sorrows in tequila, sand and tanning oil. Tesoro Resorts in Cabo are offering "crash" rooms for $60 a night. Why do they call them "crash" rooms? Because dummy, that's all you are going to need them for. The rest of the time you will probably be drinking your face off. Case in point, this copy is straight from the hotel website:
Tesoro is stumbling distance to all the best bars and restaurants in Los Cabos including No Worrys, Cabo Wabo, Body Shot Nightclub, and Nowhere Bar.
And if you're lucky hopefully you won't be crashing in your own room, eh? Also being black out drunk helps you forget that you're in a $60 hotel room in Mexico.
Use code word "crash" for bookings from now until February. 28, 2008.
Pink slip, schmlink slip. Just because your business cards are now only good for jotting down your take-out Chinese orders doesn't mean you can't enjoy yourself. Take it from someone who understands: now is the time to take a brief breather and reset your life, and isn't that what hotels are for?
Ok they are good for a lot of other things too, but right this minute you need a break. Hold off on the Starbucks for a few days or liquidate the crap you kept on your desk and you'll be surprised to know that you can afford a getaway to a city that is not Detroit.
