Um...The Beverly Hills Hotel Might Have Something to Say About This T-Shirt

July 12, 2011 at 5:00 PM | by | Comments (0)

The other day we spotted this t-shirt inside the men's department at Bloomingdale's and did a serious double-take. The Altru clothing brand has totally lifted the logo for the famous Beverly Hills Hotel as seen on its exterior.

Initially we for sure thought the hotel would be upset about this but the Altru Apparel website does have licenses for its other t-shirt imagery. So perhaps BHH is down with it after all?

Yet if you want the real thing, the hotel's online shop sells a black and pink version for ladies for $80. Men can snap up a pink polo shirt with the logo in the left corner for $71.

Morgans Hotels Get Snazzy New T-Shirts Just in Time for Xmas

December 7, 2010 at 9:25 AM | by | Comment (1)

Looking for some holiday gifts for the hip hotel lover in your life? The Standard Hotels have their specially designed Pendleton blankets and now their equally cool frenemies, the Morgans Hotel Group, have their own t-shirts.

Each Morgans Hotel will have their own t-shirt, very much like the W Hotels t-shirts, except these shirts have way more personalization going on.

Several artists were hand-selected for the project to create an aesthetic representation of the atmosphere that Morgans strives to deliver at each hotel. The participants cover an impressive scope of backgrounds and experiences in the art world – from graffiti to jewelry design – and will lend their story and skill to the guest experience with their concepts.

Desires Hotels and Threadless Hook Up to Give You Free Tees

January 23, 2009 at 2:02 PM | by | Comments (0)

Threadless, for those unfamiliar, is a clothing company that is entirely community-based. Everyone — that means you and us and your mom — is invited to come up with an original idea for a t-shirt design (like a doodle of a brontosaurus) or a slogan (like "plot: it builds character" or "sleep is so last night"), and then the community votes and comments on the designs and, based on that feedback, the t-shirt is either printed or it's deemed lame. If your design is printed, you get some money and a gift certificate to Threadless. Got it? Cool.

Here's where Desires Hotels — the folks behind the Iron Horse in Milwaukee and the Sagamore in South Beach — come in. Finding a common thread between the hotel company and the t-shirt company (ha! Thread! See what we did there?) Since each company emphasizes the importance of unique, distinctive design, they've hooked up to hook you up. Desires is rolling out a promotion that scores you a 25% discounted rate at Desires hotels if you book between January 22 and April 15, and you'll also score a $25 gift certificate to purchase any t-shirt or hoodie design from Threadless.com.

But we have a question: when is a hotel company going to test-drive a community-designed hotel? Like, wouldn't it be cool if we could all submit room designs and then if our particular design happened to get picked, we'd be compensated with some free room-nights and enormous pride? Seriously, that could be an awesome idea; after all, as every hotel review website demonstrates, everyone thinks they're a hotel expert. Everyone.

New W Hotel T-Shirts Let You Proudly Declare Which W You Love the Most

December 24, 2008 at 9:30 AM | by | Comments (7)

While perusing the W Hotel Store online yesterday for some gifts for the hotel geeks near and dear to our hearts, we couldn't help but notice some new t-shirts W Hotels was hawking.

As you see above, you can get your own "I W" t-shirts depending on which upcoming W hotel you are most excited for. There's "I W Hollwyood," "I W South Beach" and "I W Hong Kong." That last property is actually already open. And you can also buy a "I W New York," a city which has 5 Ws. Sadly, there's no "I W Hoboken" in honor of that upcoming hotel. Hopefully, the shirt will come online soon.
