New York Fashion Week, er, excuse us, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is upon us once again. If you didn't manage to snag a Runway Package from The London NYC (the official sponsor), never fear, plenty of hotels are getting in on the Fashion Week action with promos, packages, partnerships, and parties. The Sheraton New York Times Square has just had a facelift, and it's pretty sure it's not the only one.
In recognition of the completion of a $180 million top-to-bottom renovation, and the removal of construction scaffolding on the building’s facade in September, the hotel is offering guests who have had some work done in the last six months -- on their home or their body -- a $50 per stay Makeover Celebration Credit for use in the hotel. You get the goods by presenting a receipt for at least $150 in home renovations or cosmetic procedures, valid on two-night stays on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October and November.
Remember the tooth fairy? That generous spirit who arrived during the night to alleviate the pain of losing our baby teeth with a few coins -- or paper, if we were really lucky?
The two Hotel ZaZas in Dallas and Houston remember her and are celebrating this year's National Tooth Fairy Day (um, that's August 22nd, didn't you know?) with a special dental-themed package.

Here's a new reason to love one of Venice's most lovable hotels, the Hotel Cipriani. Next month, guests can sign up to have "Dinner In the Sky," a one-off experience that literally involves a 22-seat dining table being raised 164 feet in the air.
According to The Daily Mail:
"A total of 22 guests can be seated around the table, which will be suspended over the swimming pool of the hotel, located on the island of Giudecca.
Thrill-seekers will have the choice of a one-hour three-course meal prepared by the hotel's chefs or a 30-minute aperitif, during which they can drink in views that stretch to St Mark's Square on the opposite side of the lagoon."
We'd probably opt for the 30-minute aperitif, since we're almost positive the dizzying height would make us lose our appetite. Then again, we'd also have to watch how much we drank. Wouldn't want to have any bathroom emergencies at that kind of altitude!
According to the Daily Mail, the platform can be rotated 180º, offering each guest at the table a panoramic view of Venice.
If this idea sounds more romantic to you than terrifying, then plan on booking a seat at the table (50 EUR per person for the aperitif; 250 pp for dinner) for the event, which takes place June 19-23.

Now, it's The Borgata's turn to crank up the volume, as the casino hotel's big 10th anniversary is fast approaching, and you can bet (heh) they're going out of their way to let you know about it.

It isn't often that a hotel lets you have a say in the price of your stay. But that's exactly what Victoria BC's Hotel Grand Pacific is offering for the next two weeks. Running through next Friday November 11, prospective guests can visit the PayWhatYouWantVictoria site, answer some survey questions, and enter a price that they feel best reflects the "worth" of a one-night stay at the waterfront hotel.
When we first heard about this, we immediately thought of when Radiohead released In Rainbows in 2007, becoming the first band to ever release a digital album without an actual price—customers chose how much they wanted to pay, and that was that. By doing so, the band was challenging the conventional record distribution process, and the aging music industry in general. But in this case, the motives are a little more complex.

Tiger Woods may have lost a few sponsorships and fans after his whole cheating scandal (not to mention a wife!) but he's still got a few people in his corner, including a hotel.
At the five-star Grove resort in Hertfordshire (sister hotel to London's Athenaeum), golf fanatics can visit the site of Tiger Woods' 2006 World Golf Championship victory. And they can even attempt to re-create the exact same shot that scored Tiger his winning "eagle."
The hotel, which maintains a championship-quality course, has installed three plaques in the lawn near to what is now the ninth hole of the course (when Tiger played in 2006, it was the final eighteenth hole). Simply locate the plaques, and try to pull off the same trick that Tiger managed not once, not twice—but three days in a row. The pressure is on!
