Jenna Talackova certainly has a strong effect on people when she goes gallivanting around in a bikini. Recently, she showed up at the Hotel Wilshire with an entire crew to stage a photo shoot by the pool, and caused quite the scene. TMZ reports the restaurant staff made such a stink, Talackova and her crew were forced back downstairs to finish the shoot in the privacy of one of the rooms.
The irony here, of course, is that Talackova endured another, more public rejection recently—namely, being booted from the Miss Universe competition, by owner Donald Trump, for being transgender (though he's since reversed his decision).
All in all, though, we think she's got good taste in hotels, and clearly wasn't put off by having to re-locate the photo shoot. And whether she ended up posing in a bikini on the rooftop, or inside one of the rooms, we're now more than a little curious to see how the pictures come out in the end.
Now we know what Madonna is doing in hotels (and with whom--cough, cough, 24-year-old Brahim Zaibat), we thought we should check in on her ex, Jesus Luz. Turns out, just like his namesake, Jesus wants to walk on water. Or, well, float on it, anyway--at New York's RoomMate Grace Hotel.
We thought that his split with Madonna may send Jesus back into the dark, cold depths of Nobodiesville but thanks to the latest issue of Page Six magazine, he gets to live again! He appears on the cover of the magazine that came with The New York Post last week, and in these photos inside, taken at the Midtown hotel most famous for its pool.
The Obama family really does love the Hay-Adams Hotel. Not only did the first fam spend the weeks leading up to Barack's inauguration occupying the Presidential Suite at the iconic old-school luxe D.C. hotel, but now Michelle Obama has shown the hotel the ultimate love: the opportunity to be forever immortalized with her on the cover of Vogue.
According to People, the new first lady was photographed by famed portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz recently, and the portrait which shows Mrs. Obama leaning on the arm of a beige Hay-Adams couch appears on the cover of Vogue's March issue. While almost every first lady has appeared in the mag, only Hillary Clinton was ever featured on the cover before Michelle.
Naturally, we got to thinking: if we were being photographed for a Vogue cover (by Annie L., no less), which hotel would we want to serve as the backdrop for our portrait? A super cool and sleek design hotel? Or more of an older classic like the Hay Adams?
Eh, we might as well go with the Hay-Adams especially if we knew Vogue was picking up the tab. Rates for standard rooms start at around $395.00 these days, but going rate for a one-bedroom suite (which we'd probably request because a suite would have a variety of furniture upon which to artfully arrange ourselves) is up around a staggering $3,200 a night.
Surely not to be outdone by the Raleigh Hotel which is hosting Miami's Swimwear Fashion Week, The Standard Miami was the setting for a W Magazine photo shoot entitled "Summer Camp" by Bruce Weber featuring hot designers and models like Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy and Lara Stone.
The Standard website is even promoting the photo shoot where the girls roll around on Standard beds, lounge on a stack of pool chairs, parade around half-naked near a massage table, and other very interesting poses.
Let's just say there's a lot of (artistic) boobies and butt...you know, just your average summer camp experience.
