New York Hotels Are Still Hot On HotelChatter

December 26, 2008 at 12:22 PM | by juliana | 2 Comments

It's been a while but today we're checking in on our fabulous HotelChatter Hotel Pages. Each hotel we talk about here on HotelChatter will have its own hotel page, where anyone and everyone can add hotel photos and hotel commentary. What goes on in them there pages? We have our Internet monkeys cull the data and below, we give you a peek at where everyone is going--lucky stiffs:

· The Jane Hotel: Could this page be popular because of the hotel's $99 room rates? Or is it the photos of the micro-rooms that are very Wes Anderson-inspired? Or maybe it has something to do with all those protests.

· Thompson LES: There's a reason that this hotel page is getting a lot of traffic. It seems that if you are a girl, you will get upgraded to the studio suite like Jenna and Juliana did. If you're a boy, forget it. You're stuck with the Queen Superior. Just kidding. We don't think room assignment is a sexist thing but the tales of three different guests are interesting to read.

· Palazzo Las Vegas: This hotel officially opened last December and it had a rocky start. Things have improved vastly with the opening of new restaurants and clubs and 2009 will be rewarding for hotel guests. We just saw a rate of $119 a night.

· The Cooper Square Hotel: The surest way to get a hotel page to the top of the list? Pants-droppers in your rooms and dedicated peeping Toms on hand to snap the pics. As far as actual guest reviews for this hotel, we haven't had one yet so please let us know what you think.

· The Standard NYC: And lastly we round out the NYC-heavy hotel pages with the just-opened Standard Hotel (pictured above.) We're hearing that the hotel does look amazing in person but the room pics still have us concerned. Like the Cooper Square above, send us your reviews.

Golden Nugget One Guest's Choice for the 'Fremont Street Experience'

Go To The Hotel's Web
Site Where: 129 Fremont Street [map], Las Vegas, nv, United States, 89109
May 9, 2007 at 3:21 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

Thanks to our Intergalatic Hotel Pages you can go ahead and leave a comment hotel review on the page of your favorite (or most hated) hotel without waiting for us to do a story.

Take for instance this frequent visitor to the Golden Nugget Hotel in Las Vegas. The guest writes:

I have stayed at the Nugget many times, the most recent last week May 2007. I have never had a problem. This year stayed in the North Tower, which is much closer to the casino, elevator opens right next to the casino floor and sundries shop. The North Tower is $25 per night more than the South Tower but worth the cost for the proximity, it is a very long walk from the casino to the South Tower elevators. The hotel is sparkling clean and safe. Never had any issues with management or hotel staff that wasn't addressed and corrected immediately. It is my hotel of choice for the Fremont Street Experience.

Thanks for the great tip, Mrs. Robinson. So now you know. Comment hotel reviews are simple. Just sign up and become a member and off you go.

From the Hotel Pages: Commenting is the New Holla Atcha Boy

April 20, 2007 at 3:18 PM | by juliana | 1 Comment

New feature time. We recently launched the HotelChatter hotel pages. Each hotel we talk about here on HotelChatter will have its own hotel page, where anyone and everyone can add hotel photos and hotel commentary. What goes on in them there pages? We have our Internet monkeys cull the data and below, we give you a peek at where everyone is going--lucky stiffs:

· One of the popular pages this week is the Chateau La Rue hotel page which means we got a lot of Tori Spelling fans or you, like us, just can't wait to see what hunky Dean McDermott is doing each week.

· Meanwhile, we got a comment review of the Hotel Seagate in Toledo, Ohio where a guest says the front desk basically pointed him to the Radisson nearby for newspapers and coffee. The place also advertised free wireless which wasn't working.

· The CEO of Yotel Hotels apparently took offense when we commented that Yotel was worse than Starwood Hotels in terms of Hotel Hype. But he let us know that the capsule hotel chain will open in Gatwick this June.

· We also got what appears, to the untrained eye, to be a "live comment review" from someone staying at the Gran Bahia Principe. But to us this smells like a competitor trying to put salt in this hotel's game. So while we always appreciate comments and reviews, whoever they are from, we don't like suspected evil do'ers, so keep it clean--got it?

· Finally, we proposed a W question. Wherever and Whenever did you have the Worst or Wonderful W Hotel experience. We got lots of suggestions-- check 'em out and add yours.

From the Hotel Pages: Naughty and Nice

New feature time. We recently launched the HotelChatter hotel pages. Each hotel we talk about here on HotelChatter will have its own hotel page, where anyone and everyone can add hotel photos and hotel commentary. What goes on in them there pages? We have our Internet monkeys cull the data and below, we give you a peek at where everyone is going--lucky stiffs:

· One of the popular pages this week is the  Nicky O South Beach hotel page which is funny because this place is not only suffering from the worst case of hotel hype but it is definitely not going to open before the Summer. Still, we're hoping for never.

· Who knew you were such art enthusiasts as the page for Raleigh Hotel got some serious action during Art Basel's flurry of party promotion.

· It wouldn't be a hotel page wrap-up without a Vegas hotel.  Looks like everyone is still interested in Britney Spears' possible concert venue at the Palms. That or her no-underwear tendencies.

· The 2007 NYC Hotel Openings Preview sent a lot of you to Jason Pomeranc's hotel pages, namely the Allen Street LES and the disaster that is Six Columbus.

· And lastly, Miami Beach burned up the hotel pages with the looks at the construction of the  Hotel Gansevoort South/Paradiso Miami. This one has been a long time coming but we think it will actually open before Six Columbus.

From the Hotel Pages: All Over the Map

New feature time. We recently launched the HotelChatter hotel pages. Each hotel we talk about here on HotelChatter will have its own hotel page, where anyone and everyone can add hotel photos and hotel commentary. What goes on in them there pages? We have our Internet monkeys cull the data and below, we give you a peek at where everyone is going--lucky stiffs:

· One of the popular pages this week is the  Hollywood Roosevelt hotel page which means you guys are checking out Paris Hilton's bad fashion sense, but we hope you are checking the cool new Flickr photos of the hotel instead.

· Since we just launched our Viva Las Vegas Hotel Map, the hotel that seems to catch your interest the most is the Venetian. But maybe you just can't get enough of the hotel's Anti-Views.

· Also in Vegas, the MGM Grand hotel page is also popular, which makes sense because its the like the largest hotel on the fricking planet.

· In NYC, it looks like some of you are contemplating staying in the Pickwick Arms stateside version of the capsule hotel rooms but a tad bigger and with cooler amenities.

· And lastly, it looks like you are intrigued by the Sunset Grande Jamaica and its confusing hotel reviews. Don't be shy to let us know what your inner referee thinks.

From the Hotel Pages: The Tropical Edition

October 20, 2006 at 4:09 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

New feature time. We recently launched the HotelChatter hotel pages. Each hotel we talk about here on HotelChatter will have its own hotel page, where anyone and everyone can add hotel photos and hotel commentary. What goes on in them there pages? We have our Internet monkeys cull the data and below, we give you a peek at where everyone is going--lucky stiffs:

· Fashion hotels are a hot hotel trend but Donatella Versace's hotel, the Palazzo Versace on Australia's Gold Coast is missing the mark. Here's a teaser line from a guest review on the hotel page: "Now I understand every hotel can have a bad day now and then, but this was becoming Fawlty Towers in proportion." The biggest problem was the General Manager who seems to have adopted fashion's "We're better than you" attitude.

· It seems like the Grand Coco Bay's hotel ad got you all interested. Or maybe you just wanted more info on the human pyramids in the pool.

· It wasn't a good week for Hawaii but the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows was taking all the precautions they could and you wanted to know more.

· It seems we are not alone in our obsession with hotels in the Maldives as the One & Only Kanuhura page got some traction. Now if only someone likes Google Earth as much as we do.

From The Hotel Pages: Can't Get Enough of New York City

September 15, 2006 at 4:56 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

New feature time. We recently launched the HotelChatter hotel pages. Each hotel we talk about here on HotelChatter will have its own hotel page, where anyone and everyone can add hotel photos and hotel commentary. What goes on in them there pages? We have our Internet monkeys cull the data and below, we give you a peek at where everyone is going--lucky stiffs:

· We got to stay at the  The Tribeca Grand this week and spied the Hotel Happy Ending Bandit (aka Kevin Costner) in the wild. Sadly, we also got TV snow instead of TV porn.

· We tried to set the record straight on hotelier Jason Pomeranc's hotel woes, but you must be checking out the  6 Columbus page for laughs. Its got the most stories for a hotel that has still yet to open.

· Actually, we take that back. The Gramercy Park Hotel had more pre-stories. But it's opened and we learned today that the 14s and 15s room have shitty views.

· In other non-NYC pages, despite our love for the  Venetian Hotel & Casino in Vegas, that poolside band is ruining everything!

· Are you readers all secretly rabid MySpace fans? Is that why you're checking out the W Dallas, whose Ghostbar has a notorious MySpace page?

From the Hotel Pages: When It's Time to Change, You've Got to Rearrange

August 17, 2006 at 12:55 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

New feature time. We recently launched the HotelChatter hotel pages. Each hotel we talk about here on HotelChatter will have its own hotel page, where anyone and everyone can add hotel photos and hotel commentary. What goes on in them there pages? We have our Internet monkeys cull the data and below, we give you a peek at where everyone is going--lucky stiffs:

· Now that it seems like Jason Pomeranc is having money woes (hence the Madonna/H&M advertecture), the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel Page is the place to reminisce on the good old days when celebs ruled the joint.

· The Algonquin Hotel is an old hotel that's no doubt seen many changes and their elderly bartender has probably seen them all as well.

· Since Ian Schrager has moved on to bigger and better things, the  Delano Hotel is making some changes with Barton and Butter.

· Speaking of Schrager, did you hear he opened up the  Gramercy Park Hotel this week?

From the Hotel Pages: Everyone Loves Hotels in Mexico

We have our Internet monkeys cull the data and below, we give you a peek at where everyone is going--lucky stiffs:

· Is Nick Lachey on HotelChatter?  Seriously, who else would be constantly visiting the One and Only Cabo hotel page in the middle of a heat wave--lots of you it seems.

· Speaking of Mexico, if you have followed along closely, you know Mexican sex toys are expensive.

· See this is why we made these pages...we have never even heard of Hotel Fusion, but because you guys alerted us to it, we will check it out stat. Thanks!

· And because we did some skulking around the newly renovated Sofitel Hotel in Los Angeles, we think Rande Gerber's Stone Rose and the all-black lobby deserve an extra look.

From the Hotel Pages...

June 23, 2006 at 9:23 AM | by markj | 0 Comments

New feature time.  We recently launched the HotelChatter hotel pages.  Each hotel we talk about here on HotelChatter will have its own hotel page, where anyone and everyone can add hotel photos and hotel commentary.  What goes on in them there pages?  Take a quick look at what has been transpiring thus far:

·  We thought the Four Seasons Maui was exclusively for Britney and monied up Blog Cowboys.  However, the regular folks are not only poolside, but they also take the best photos (above).

· The meaning of getting Six Columbused.

· The Claremont is old, but wise.

· If you are staying in Dubai, on an expense account...

· The new place in LA is right on the highway...
