We sure hope last week's Four Seasons jewelry thief wasn't lurking around the Peninsula Bev Hills last night!
The Peninsula Beverly Hills must have been a hectic scene last night as hand-delivered suits and mysterious orange sacks began arriving at the hotel and immediately whisked up to VIP suites. "The bling is here!" the hotel announced on Facebook, as we pictured everyone from Jennifer Aniston to Catherine Zeta-Jones checking into five-star hotels all over Hollywood to get themselves dolled up for the big awards ceremony.
While we can't say for sure which stars were actually at the Peninsula, we guarantee a few of them were pretty big names. After all, what regular person would have multiple bags of expensive jewelry dragged up to their hotel suite on Oscars night? One starry-eyed Facebook commenter wrote: "I can only imagine what's inside!" One thing's for sure: nothing we'd be able to afford in a million gazillion years.

This holiday season, we know there's going to be a good deal of marriage proposals. But not every gift has to begin with Kay. In fact, if you've got the dosh, and a few minutes for some Fantasy Friday dreaming, we've got a sweet little tidbit to share.
Salvatore Martone, the Executive Pastry Chef at the Four Seasons New York, has created a decadent “$20,000 dessert” that highlights a sparkling diamond from Leviev, one of the world's largest privately held diamond polishers and cutters.
So if you're thinking of asking for her hand in marriage, here's one way to do it!

The latest output from the seemingly endless fount of hipster goodies commissioned by The Ace Hotel will slip around your wrist, smell like an old English saddle, and make you look super cool at, say, an outdoor music festival.
At least, that's the intention behind the new Ace X Tanner Goods Bracelet (above), which comes in tan and black, and has the Ace Hotel & Swimclub Palm Springs logo etched into it. You can snag one for $50 a pop, which is about a third of the price you'd pay for an actual room at the hotel. So now you must ask yourself: is it a 335 square-foot King Lounge in Palm Springs I want? Or three handmade leather bracelets? Decisions, decisions.

New York Fashion Week officially kicked off yesterday, and for the next week, New York is a sloppy mess of runway events, underpaid models, and too many cocktail parties than we care to count. On the plus side, hotels always get a good piece of the action—here's a look at five hotel events this week worth your while.
Since October, Andaz 5th Avenue has been asking a rotating series of local artists to paint murals that represent their "view" of New York. Starting on Sunday, Claw Money—or Gold, as she is also known—will superimpose her own bright, raw graffiti style onto the doors of the bar downstairs.
So if you see a girl in six-inch heels with a can of spray paint, just play along. Photos from the exhibit are being sold in the bar for $5 apiece, proceeds go to charity.
Last week when we were hunting down some info on the Dorothy Draper School of Decorating at the historic Greenbrier Hotel in West Virginia, we came across this photo on the hotel's Facebook page--a sterling silver charm replica of the iconic Springhouse gazebo. Oh great, a hotel charm, just what we wanted. Thaaaaaaanks.
The $75 charm (!) is just one of many knick knacky items that you can pick up from the hotel's Crepe Myrtle Bags & Beads store if you're doing some Christmas shopping during your stay. Actually, the charm is just one of many logoed items you can get from the hotel's collection of stores from tennis gear to golf clothes, handmade truffles, toys, and uh, gun stuff from the Gun Club Shop.
While being on site to pick up the items in person might be easier, you can always phone in a gift order too. Not sure about that gun stuff though.
Fun Fact: We have pictures of us posing near the Springhouse from 1991 wearing a floral printed dress from Express and white flats. Eeek!

Black Friday has officially come and gone, and though we hate buying into all the commercial hype, we've got to admit—we're starting to feel the clock ticking. Tomorrow is December 1, and before we know it, Christmas will be here! Here to help is HotelChatter's mini gift guide, featuring all hotel-inspired Etsy finds. Browse away, and if you come up with other hotel-related trinkets to add to the list, do let us know!
$9 While not exactly the most flattering piece of jewelry ever made, this is certainly a creative take on the hotel keycard. The designer takes recycled credit, gift and hotel keycards, cuts them into shapes, and then sands the edges to smooth them down. The above pair measures 4 inches long. And if these aren't up your alley, how about a pair made from tiny plastic Monopoly hotels?
This week, we take a look at a new indie jewelry collection that has recently popped up inside the W Leicester Square. PDB Jewelry (it stands for 'Pure Dead Brilliant') is a Bali-based company whose cuffs, earrings, rings and necklaces tend to have cute, weird little sayings emblazoned straight into the metal. Which, somehow, makes them a perfect fit for the often-blunt hotel idioms of W.
We already knew that hottie "Top Chef" host Padma Lakshmi was a former supermodel who was once married to controversial author Salman Rushdie but we had no idea that she was dabbling in the jewelry design business. Yet lo and behold, The Padma Collection is now for sale at our fave NYC hotel, The Surrey. Apparently, it's Padma's fave NYC hotel too.
The Fall/Winter 2010 jewelry collection was inspired by her international travels and will be on sale in the Surrey's centerpiece armoire in the lobby through March 2011. The collection includes necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings with prices ranging in the low hundreds up to $6,000.
Yesterday, we gave you our 10 picks for holiday gifts from hotels but if you're still looking for something special, perhaps this will strike your fancy.
Remember how we mentioned last month that St. Regis Hotels had teamed up with jewelry designer Alexis Bittar to create some St. Regis-inspired pieces? Well, they are now available for sale on Bittar's own website.
Here are the St. Regis Collection by Alexis Bittar Earrings ($235), St. Regis Collection by Alexis Bittar Necklace ($490) and our personal fave, the St. Regis Collection by Alexis Bittar Geranium Brooch ($385).
Lucy Sykes Rellie dons a St. Regis Collection necklace by Alexis Bittar at a party to celebrate the 21st St. Regis Hotel opening.
The luxury hotel brand recently celebrated the opening of its 21st hotel, St. Regis Bahia Bahia Resort in Puerto Rico which opened November 4 and which was quickly followed by the 22nd hotel opening at the St. Regis Lhasa Resort in China on Monday. (Not to mention, the St. Regis Osaka in Japan opened last month.)
But despite all the new hotels, the St. Regis is not one to ditch its long history of luxury. Fortunately, instead of just waxing on and on about their history, you can actually get something out of it.
