As we've told you before, the Sunset Marquis just completed an overhaul of their sexy hideaway villas in the Hollywood Hills and an addition of 40 new suites, so to celebrate, they are throwing a party tonight which will feature a performance by Stevie Wonder and guitarist Jeff Beck.
Everyone knows who Stevie Wonder is so he needs no explanation but as for Beck, he was a guitarist for the Yardbirds (Clapton's old band) and was ranked 14th on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. He is also the man responsible for the Sunset Marquis' famous recording studio.
The party will also host a private viewing of "Gibson Through the Lens," a photo exhibition of over 70 rare and vintage images of iconic rock stars and their Gibson guitars like David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Prince.
As with most parties in Hollywood, this one is not open to the public. But we'll do our best to get you some party snapshots.
The Seaport Hotel in Boston has always been a geeky...er tech-savvy hotel, having employed the SeaPortal, a sort of iConcierge that eliminates the need for human interaction when staying at a hotel.
But now they move from software to playware (?) with their Guitar Hero contests.
The hotel has a Twitter account (as does HotelChatter) and has let its followers know that tomorrow it will be holding a Guitar Hero contest from 5:30 to 7:30pm in the hotel's Tamo Bar. And judging from regular SeaPort "tweets", it seems the contest is a standing Wednesday night thing. So if you can't make it tomorrow, try the next week.
However, there's not much info we could find after that. We searched the hotel website high and low and found no mention of the contest. And we think it's a shame the hotel hasn't made mention of this event on their tricked out web calendar.
2008 has been a killer year for The Sky Lodge in chi-chi winter haven Park City, Utah. Tapped for Conde Nast Traveler's 2008 Gold List the resort has maintained it's rep as one of the top destinations in North America with intimate offerings like this summer's Monthly Vintner Dinners at their fine dining restaurant Fin.
Beginning on July 18th, guests can experience five-course dinners paired with the visiting winery's selections for a set price of $125. The first two dinners are hosted by Oakville Ranch on July 18th and Judd's Hill Winery on August 28th.
This is a great opportunity to mingle with the wine country elite, ask questions, and drink full strength booze in the lovely state of Utah!
This Wednesday at the W New Orleans, Andy Warhol-inspired cocktails will make their debut. Heh. Leave it to W to host a Warhol event on Wednesday.
From 4.30pm until around seven, W is holding the "Shake It Up With Martini and Rossi" event: Andy Warhol prints combined with six cocktails using Martini and Rossi Vermouth and inspired by Warhol images.
They don't give too much more away except that there'll be "Velvet Edie" and "Factory Martini" cocktails among the six, and they'll all be shaken and stirred "Warhol-style". Which we think is pretty stylish.
It's a first come, first served night so don't be late, and if you do get to try a Warhol cocktail let us know how it tastes.
What: Continuing Kimpton's streak of heartwarming efforts to embrace pets and their doting families, three Boston Kimpton properties -- the Hotel Marlowe, Nine Zero and the Onyx -- are holding a Saturday of doggie pampering for charity.
The event will feature wash-and-dry services provided by local doggie pamperers Laundromutt (hehe) and "puppy snow cones and peanut butter cupcakes" from Polka Dog Bakery. Awww!
The proceeds from the day go to benefit Boston chapter of the Trust for Public Land.

What: The night before the 30th annual Bolder Boulder 10K road race taking place on May 26th, the St Julien Hotel & Spa is offering the "Bolder Boulder Pasta Pasta" carbo-loading dinner.
At $19.95 per person, guests can stuff their face with a high-carb dinner prepared by St Julien's Executive Chef Jason Rogers. But nothing's plated here and served to you. Instead there's a "Build Your Own Pasta" bar featuring a variety of pastas, pasta sauces, and toppings.
The hotel will have live music during the dinner and anyone actually running the race and has their 2008 Bolder Boulder bib already will get 50% off their dinner price. Eat up!
Poison frontman and Rock of Love star Bret Michaels is performing at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando on May 29th for the hotel's Velvet Sessions. What: An "exclusive" fashion week after party hosted by Queen Models management company. (We have no idea what type of models since their website is not quite filled out yet.)
