Another week, another cultural hotel experience. Today it’s over to La Residence Hotel & Spa in Hue is upping the ante with a pretty incredible package that ticks off five UNESCO-rated sites off your bucket list.

It’s not enough to provide a decent hotel room these days; you’ve got to give an “experience” as well. Recently we’ve seen unforgettable service, a house jet instead of a house car and excursions from private dinners on the Ponte Vecchio to naming your own star.
Now it’s the Landmark London’s turn to take “experience” literally with five Landmark London Experiences.
Travel is a chance to educate yourself about global destinations. How do native foods manifest in room service? In what way does the local political climate affect the hardness or softness of a mattress? And most importantly, how do you say, “A little lower, please” in various native tongues? (Cultural competency is very important in spa visits.)
Okay, we kid. But really, when you finally wander outside the confines of your plush hotel, you want to make sure you maximize your vacation time with at least one uniquely immersive experience. So today the Peninsula Hotels launch the Peninsula Academy, a “summer collection of exclusive experiences” that bring some over-the-top (but extremely cool) guest opportunities that are tailored to each hotel location.
Heading to the Peninsula Shanghai? Hop in a Rolls-Royce for a traditional Chinese breakfast and meeting with red-hot young fashion designer Lu Kun. Visiting the Peninsula Beijing? Take a private tour of the Shu Fang Zhai Temple, a private part of the Forbidden City otherwise inaccessible to the public, followed by a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.

As we told you last week, St. Ermin's Hotel in London is Accor Hotel's first UK property belonging to its revamped MGallery Collection. At the opening, a new logo - a stylized M with "Memorable Hotels by Accor" beneath - was introduced.
The new logo is a big improvement from its predecessor , which took the "M" that we know from Mercure, Accor's mid-market brand. The new "M" fits the upscale segment and focus on individuality and design much better in our opinion.
Positioned as they are as memorable hotels, each MGallery property offers a distinct "Memorable Moment", like learning about Balinese art and cuisine at The Royal Beach Hotel Seminyak or touring Prague in a classic car at the Hotel Century Old Town. Memorable moments can be arranged through the concierge at each property with 24 hour notice; rates vary based on the experience and the number of people participating.
