The Ultimate Guide to Black Friday and Cyber Monday Hotel Deals

November 26, 2013 at 9:38 AM | by | Comments (16)

They're baaaaack! Once again, we've compiled a master list of Black Friday and Cyber Monday hotel deals for you crazy bargain hunters out there.

While most of the deals kick off at either midnight the hotel's time on either November 29 or December 2, quite a few (more than half we'd say) are available through the whole weekend. So the deal starts off on Black Friday and extends all the way into Cyber Monday. Pretty sweet. One funny thing: Some hotels ask you to call to book and used the code CYBER. LOLSIES!

As always, you must must must read the fine print on the hotel deals. And not just the fine print that we've listed but the even finer print that you see on the hotel's booking page as many of these deals require advance payment or are nonrefundable. If you don't do this, we'll spank you. Not in a Fifty Shades of Grey way either. So now, have at it!

UPDATE: This list is a beast. Probably over a 100 or so hotel deals. We've made it easier to navigate the list by jumping to some popular sections. NOTE TO HOTELS: Unfortunately, we are not longer accepting submissions but please feel free to add your deals in comments below. Thanks and happy deal-hunting!

You Can Now Book a Hotel Room Through Twitter with Loews Hotels

November 15, 2013 at 10:19 AM | by | Comments (2)

Loews Hotels is trying something new with their Twitter pages--allowing guests to book their stays directly through Twitter.

Many hotels have long been offering reservations through Facebook for a few years now but Twitter has never really been done before. Here's how Loews is pioneering this new social reservations tool:

Simply use the hashtag #BookLoews in a tweet to @Loews_Hotels that says where you want to stay and you'll be connected by a Loews Travel Planner to start a Twitter conversation. Once you're ready to book your stay, the Travel Planner will tweet you a link to a secure chat conversation to take your credit card and billing info in a secure, PCI-compliant digital environment. Other than that, you never have to leave Twitter to book your hotel room. This is the future, kids! (One thing to note: The Loews Orlando hotels are not bookable through Twitter.)

Celebrate SLS' 5th Birthday, Get 2 Tickets to the SLS Vegas Opening

November 12, 2013 at 12:04 PM | by | Comments (0)

We've just turned 10 but the original SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills is still a baby at 5 years old. Crazily enough, we were there when hotelier Sam Nazarian gave birth to the energetic hotel that would turn into a full-on, real deal hotel collection with a property in South Beach and more to open in New York, Vegas, Seattle and beyond.

And in typical flashy SLS style, they are celebrating the milestone in a major way.

The hotel has put together an extravagant package SLS 5-Year Anniversary package priced at $10,000 a night that includes a stay in the presidential suite, a truffle dinner for two, personal chaffuer in a BMW, a Ciel Spa experience and wait for it...two tickets to the opening of SLS Las Vegas.

Say what??? We had to double-check this package listing but it's for real. The two tickets are just simply tickets to the opening and not a hotel stay. But we're guessing that if you spend 10 grand on this package, you'll probably spend at least $250 on a hotel room at SLS in Vegas. Remember, SLS Vegas will open sometime in fall 2014.

A more affordable birthday gift for SLS is after the jump.

Starwood and AAA Have Reduced Rates at 'Roadside' Hotels This Fall

Go To The Hotel's Web
  Site Where: Various Locations
September 10, 2013 at 12:16 PM | by | Comments (0)

There's nothing new about the fact that a AAA membership gets you 20% off participating Starwood properties, but if you're anything like us, you typically a) don't really want to stay at whatever hotel happens to be "participating" or b) completely forget that you're a member of AAA when planning your travel.

Well, with the leaf-peeping season and the holidays on the way, it's Starwood and HotelChatter to the rescue. We've just reminded you that Starwood has extended the AAA discounts to its stylish yet affordable Four Points, Element, and Aloft hotels, most of which are found along major highways and near major airports. Thankfully, they look nothing like the "roadside" hotels of yesteryear.

Starwood has even created a map that highlights popular road trip routes in the States. A few of them would be great options for leaf peepers, such as the east coast down through Virginia and the Carolinas or the Great River Road through the Midwest. For more realistic purposes, it has a locator to help you find hotels along the highway for when you hit the road to visit family for the holidays.
