How Will The Ace Hotel NYC and Its Residents Get Along?

The Ace Hotel New York didn't open in January or February, nor did it open on March 1st and yesterday, we learned that the hotel isn't opening on March 16th either. The word is that "large components, such as heating, just aren't ready."

This we totally get. New York City hotels often have a hard time making their opening dates as NYC city permits and inspections are notoriously difficult waters to steer through. But the Ace Hotel has another difficult obstacle to carefully to maneuver around--SRO occupants. Much like the The Jane Hotel, and unlike most hotels with residences attached, The Ace is renovating a building that already comes with residents and they have been vociferous, to say the least, about the changes going on in their building.

No doubt, all this makes for a very delicate hotel opening situation.
