It's a beer bath, bro
Gentlemen, are you quick to conform to stereotype? Do you think spa treatments are unmanly? Have you ever said, “Dude, the only way I’m ever getting a massage is if it’s a massage with beer, done by a hawt chick, lol”?
Consider your bluff called by Four Seasons Vail. The hotel famous for its “Haut Chocolate” has a Brew and Renew spa menu designed “especially for men” (although it generously adds in parentheses that “women can enjoy them too”). And it involves beer.
Designed in conjunction with Vail’s Crazy Mountain Brewing Company, the menu offers a “Brewsage” – that’s a massage with hop oil, bro, for $150 – a “Beer Brew Bath” (presumably what it sounds like, $55), an “Amber Ale Foot Soak” filled with fresh beer, as you drink a brewski ($75), and a “Stout Scalp Treatment” using beer froth and honey to primp one’s barnet ($45).

There's two exciting things about this place, though: first, it's going up in San Antonio's historic Pearl brewery, which was originally built in 1881 and was an actual, functioning brewery all the way up until 2001.
These days, the Pearl brewery is a 22-acre mixed-use development project that's being hyped as San Antonio's next big foodie destination, with a slew of great restaurants (Il Sogno Italian Osteria, NAO New World Flavors, Blue Box Bar), shops, an amphitheater, and even a CIA campus (that's Culinary Institute of America, not, like, government agents).
Second, the hotel will be designed by Roman & Williams, the creative geniuses who brought us the Ace Hotel (as far as we know, this will be their first project with Kimpton), meaning we can probably expect a lot of exposed ceilings and rich tile and wood textures.
Details are few as of now, though we're guessing Kimpton will play up the Pearl's 'reclaimed,' 'industrial' vibe, since that seems to be all the rage these days. We admit, the brewery's original smoke chimney (pictured), which is still intact, is pretty awesome, and is a unique design feature any hotel would envy.
Another reason we plan on checking into this hotel when it opens next year? Beer!

It's coming up on Father's Day, and once again, we're here to make your gift-giving experience go as smoothly as possible. How, you ask? By providing a range of perfect hotel experiences to suit all dad types! From smoking lounges to motorcycles to "sports" manicures (if you want to make a spa treatment guy-friendly, then that prefix is compulsory), we've rounded up six hotels with the best man-centric activities.
So, what are you waiting for? Read on! You've only got six days to book!
Though it's home to three championship golf courses, a shooting school and one of the best father-and-son fishing getaway spots, The Cloister at Sea Island off the coast of southern Georgia has one other man-centric feature that helps it stand out from the rest of the resorts: a Smoking Lounge. The wood-paneled room helped win the hotel a coveted spot on T+L's "World's Best Resorts" in 2006, and provides the ultimate man-cation hangout spot, with cozy leather armchairs, a fireplace, and an on-site Cigar Sommelier to help dad pick out his smoke of choice.
Got a good 'stache? In honor of Movember, Standard Hotels is running a Facebook contest that encourages people to send in photos of their frothy beer-soaked moustaches—the winner gets two nights at either Standard Downtown LA or Standard NYC. Plus $200 to spend at the Standard Biergarten. Gotta keep that 'stache good and watered!
Of course, we wouldn't be nearly interested in this if we couldn't take a peek at some of the entries submitted so far. Like contestant Ryan, pictured above, who is in the lead with 103 votes. Though we have to admit—we don't see too much froth happening on that upper lip! Looks like this contest needs some real gentlemen to step up to the cyber-plate.

Since you all seemed to enjoy our photos of Goldeneye in Jamaica, we thought we'd do you one better and post this video, taken inside one of the Beach Cottages. That hammock is possibly the most inviting one we've ever seen, and the cottage's spitting-distance proximity to the beach doesn't hurt either!
