Score 1000 Bonus Hilton Honors Points Just 'Cause It's Spring
Everyone wants to give you free things 'cause of the recession, we suppose. Or everyone wants to give you free things because the weather is getting nice and people are feeling generous. Well, probably the recession. But in any case: for Hilton stays between April 13 and June 30, 2009, you can earn yourself 1,000 Hilton Honors bonus points every night of your stay just by registering here.
You obviously can't qualify for the promo if you're not an HHonors member, and you won't reap the benefits of the extra-point thing unless you do the online registration thing.
But there are no blackout dates (hooray!) and you can choose to rack up your points in any of the following ways:
· Points & Points earnings style: 10 Base points and 5 bonus points for every eligible dollar spent.
· Points & Fixed Miles: 10 Base points for every eligible dollar spent and 500 miles, with the partner airline of the member’s choice.
· Points & Variable Miles: 10 Base points and 1 airline mile, with the partner airline of the member’s choice, for every eligible dollar spent.
Earn 'em and use 'em at Hilton, Conrad, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Hampton, Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Grand Vacations, Homewood Suites and Waldorf Astoria properties at your leisure. Happy spring!

Hotel Loyalty Program News :: How Would You Spend a Million Hilton Points?

When we buy lottery tickets a couple times a year, we don't expect to actually win. It's the worth the dollar though, to dream about how we'd spend the millions.
Hilton Hhonors' new sweepstakes with National Car Rental feels a bit the same way. Register at FiveMillionReasons.com and either book a night at a Hilton property or a National Car Rental by November 30, 2008 (and stay or drive by December 15) and your name goes into a drawing.
Then, five obnoxiously lucky people will win one million Hilton Hhonors points each. So since we're all dreaming here, we have to ask: What would you do with the prize?

Hilton's Super-Secret Hotel Lab Hidden Inside the LAX Garden Inn
Ohhhh, we love us some good top secret info: apparently, Hilton has a hidden secret lab -- so secret that it goes by a "code name." It's tucked inside a wing of the Hilton Garden Inn El Segundo, an unassuming LAX airport hotel.
Well, we suppose it's not so secret anymore since Portfolio wrote it up this week:
The secret wing, code-named University, is Hilton's "hotel laboratory," the place were the company tests and refines its next generation of rooms. A year or two from now, the ideas, concepts, and furnishings that have been tried out in El Segundo will make their way into Hilton-brand hotels around the world, including Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Homewood, Hampton Inn, and, of course, Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn
This is sort of like the much-hyped prototype "warehouse" that Starwood used to develop its Aloft brand, except the Hilton testing grounds are a bit different since HGI guests can actually stay in them overnight.

HotelChatter's Guide to Loyalty Programs:: Hilton HHonors

Until recently we thought hotel loyalty programs were for Account Executives rolling their business travel points into a family vacation at a bland resort every year or two. However, funny thing happened when we started investigating these programs -- we found some of them are downright useful if you know how to cut through the red tape. This series is meant as a jumping off point to full fledged discussions on each loyalty program we feature. So comment, contribute, question, and cajole here.
HotelChatter's Barbara Benham continues to look at hotel loyalty programs today with the break down of Hilton Hotels. Called Hilton HHonors, this program is good at any Hilton which includes all of their brands like Garden Inn, DoubleTree, Hampton Inn, Embassy Suites, Conrad Hotels, and Homewood Suites. We still don't know what the extra "H" is for but we do have the full program details for you after the jump.
