The note is all a part of Hampton Inn's plan to assure guests that while Hampton might not be a five-star luxury hotel, the beds (and arguably the most important thing in a hotel room) are clean. And now, Hampton is updating the comforting of the bedding too.
The Clean & Fresh Hampton Bed has new fluffy duvet inserts and covers with streamlined bottom corners. The beds will also have four pillows instead of three and at least one of those pillows will be the Down Dreams Soft pillow, reportedly a guest favorite.
The post-it notes are also getting switched up, although we aren't exactly sure what they will say. If you see them in the wild, let us know!
Meanwhile, Hampton's free breakfast is also getting some new options as well as a new name.
Hmmm... this was definitely a new one for us. This weekend, we stayed at the Hampton Inn in San Clemente, California, while attending a wedding on the adjacent golf course, and when we entered our room, we found this note waiting for us, pressed on the headboard.
As snotty as it sounds, our first thought was whether the hotel wanted a cookie for this typically routine service. We also wondered if sticky notes are now the new way to communicate in our technologically advanced world.
But alas, the note is actually just a marketing opportunity by Hampton Inn. (We've seen another hotel use sticky notes before as a marketing gimmick too.)
A few years ago, the brand rolled out these printed sticky notes to assure guests that the sheets on the bed are clean. Which makes sense since our #1 fear is usually that the duvet cover hasn't been washed and contains god-knows-what kind of stains.
But while we definitely appreciate clean linens, we're not sure we need a note, much less a sticky note on the headboard, to remind us. This isn't Office Space, it's a hotel room.

Hampton Hotels, which include the Hampton Inns, Hampton Inn and Suites and the Hampton by Hilton brands, have been talking up their "Hamptonality" in advertisements and social media outreach for over a year now. Hamptonality is an obviously made-up buzz word that defines the friendly Hampton experience. It also is meant to imply free WiFi, free, hot breakfast, the Clean & Fresh Hampton Bed and 100 percent satisfaction guarantee. Hospitality meets Hampton and becomes...Hamptonality.
Yet lately, we've been seeing the Hamptonality ads everywhere. Why, just the other day we were placing our shoes in a bin at the airport security checkpoint and the bin was plastered in a Hampton Inn ad with the hashtag, #hamptonality.
As it turns out, Hampton is giving Hamptonality an extra push this summer and its geared specifically towards the most important hotel guest generation of all time, The Millenials (ok, we're exaggerating but not by much!)

Great, now we have a new thing to worry about that could potentially be killing us in our hotel room—or at least making things really uncomfortable.
A 26--year-old man has been arrested for setting up a makeshift "shake-and-bake" meth lab in his third-floor room at the Hampton Inn Philadelphia Center City.
But to make matters worse, Homeland Security chief Joe Sullivan tells Philly.com that this new practice of contaminating your hotel room with dozens of toxic chemicals while manufacturing methamphetamine is actually becoming a "popular" thing to do.

It turns out it's not just us hotel nerds that choose our hotel stays based on whether the joint has free WiFi or not.
According to CNN's Political Ticker Ann Romney, the wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, says that she prefers Hilton's Hampton Inn Hotels when she's on the road because they have free WiFi.
As someone who spends life on the road, Ann Romney knows a thing or two about hotels. Her favorites, she said Wednesday, are the ones that come with free Wi-Fi.
"It's so convenient just to be able to get your internet," Ann said on Mike Huckabee's radio show. "I personally like Hampton Inns, but that's an aside."
We knew that the Hampton Inn & Suites Miami-Brickell Downtown was going for the green, aiming for LEED-certification status. But, as this shot of one of the newcomer's guest room shows, the hotel thinks pink, too.
We kinda like those hot pink accents--and they are certainly timely since it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month--but we wonder how the straight-laced suits who bunk here while in downtown Miami on biz will like them?
One thing they will like in these cash-strapped times is the Hampton Inn Brickell's opening rates--which are as low as $129 a night this Friday.
Downtown Miami will soon get its newest hotel to play with, when the Hampton Inn & Suites - Miami/Downtown-Brickell opens, along with its mouthful of a name, in October.
We hear the hotel will have a soft opening next month, but according to the hotel's page on the Hampton Inn site, you can start making reservations from October 15.
While most of the new hotel action in Miami has been taking place (or about to) on the beach, another hot area of town is preparing for a new hotel, too: Brickell, in downtown.
Much ado was made about Brickell with the openings of the EPIC and Viceroy hotels--and the area is now filled with young professionals living in condos with bay views and hotel-like amenities. But the latest addition to the 'hood this fall will be a Hampton Inn.
That's good news for people who want to stay downtown without paying $300 a night. Developer of the property, Bernie Wolfson, tells GlobeSt.com that rates will be in the $100-$150 range.
