Where The World's Most Beautiful Woman Vacations

People Magazine recently named Gwyneth Paltrow 2013’s "World's Most Beautiful Woman" and that set off a debate frenzy as to whether the actress deserved such a title. Even Paltrow herself has been quoted as saying that while she’s honored, it’s “obviously not true.”
Still, we’re more interested in where a woman with such a high honor go for a little R&R? Especially now after that much publicity. Well, we’re happy to say she’s a fan of some of our favorite places!
Viceroy Sugar Beach, St. Lucia
Paltrow visited the newly renamed and rebranded resort (it used to be Jalousie) with her children, Apple, 8, and Moses, 6. She wrote on her lifestyle website Goop.com, “We are just back from an amazing (and sadly short) holiday at Sugar Beach -- A Viceroy Resort in St. Lucia. It was heaven.” Oh, and she also had to clarify that Moses wasn't drinking a pina colada out of his coconut.
Read on for more of Paltrow's perennial favorites.

The DVF Rooms at Claridge's Reunite Besties Madonna and Gwyneth

It looks like we weren't the only ones frothing at the mouth over the Diane von Fursternberg rooms at the Claridge's Hotel in London. At a party to celebrate the new rooms, Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow "happily posed" for the cameras putting the rumors to rest that their "besties forever" relationship was over.
Also attending the celebration were DVF herself, Tom Ford, Victoria Beckham, fashion designer Valentino, Jimmy Choo's Tamara Mellon and supermodel Natalia Vodianova. Apparently not in attendance? The DVF rooms!
Marie Claire attended the party as did Grazia which was held in the hotel's ballroom with a pre-war theme, but no one snapped any pics of the rooms! We've been hounding the hotel's PR team and they keep telling us there are no photos just yet. Normally, we think begging is unattractive but screw it--please send us photos of the DVF rooms at Claridge's if you got 'em!

Do You Want to Stay in the Soho House's 'Broom Cupboard'?
Presumably not the Broom Cupboard
It was only a matter of time – in fact, we’re rather surprised it took this long. The Soho House Group – behind, obvs, the two transatlantic Soho Houses and Shoreditch House – has opened a hotel in London.
Dean Street Townhouse, which opened last week (with ole Gwyneth Paltrow in attendance, no less), is bang in the centre of Soho (on Dean Street, funnily enough), and just two blocks away from Soho House itself. It has a restaurant and 39 rooms, which look quietly chic – all greiges and stuff, but with a few Olde Englishe fabrics thrown into the mix so as not to be boring.
To be honest, we’re not massive fans of the Houses Soho and Shoreditch, but we are rather excited about this for two reasons. First, drumroll… it’s not members only. So the likes of you and us can get have a nosey into the whole private members club pretentiousness experience without having to shell out a third world country's GDP.

Gwyneth Paltrow Fancies Herself a Hotel Connoisseur: The NYC Edition
Gwyneth Paltrow's "Lifestyle" website, GOOP, teaches us how to live like Gwyneth. Each section on the site Make, Go, Get, Do, Be, See contains links to weekly newsletters with a treasure trove of invaluable advice on how to do such things the way she wants us to, and each one reads like it's written by the GP herself.
This morning's newsletter from the "Go" category featured hotel reviews once again. Now that she's given us her LA hotel wisdom, it was only appropriate that we learn which NYC hotels are her faves. While she has an apartment in NYC, she's says she's been "redecorating my apartment for a year so I have recently stayed in many hotels. I have only included the ones that I loved, but I did include The Greenwich, which I have not yet seen."
Funny! When we redecorate our apartments, we either suck it up and sleep with the paint fumes or go stay with our moms.

Gwyneth Paltrow Fancies Herself a Hotel Connoisseur
Gwyneth Paltrow's "Lifestyle" website, GOOP, is supposed to teach us all how to live like Gwyneth. Each section on the site Make, Go, Get, Do, Be, See contains links to weekly newsletters chock full of invaluable advice on how to do such things the way she wants us to, and each one reads like it's written by the GP herself (like this one, telling you how and when to wear a little black dress [answer: any way, always]).
This morning's newsletter from the "Go" category featured, you guessed it, hotel recommendations! For LA! Gwynnie's birth city!
She recommends a handful of places to stay in LA, none of which are accompanied by any significant explanation outlining why you should stay there.

Staying in Spain :: Batali-Paltrow Style

This fall, PBS will debut the series "Spain... On the Road Again," based on an enviable Spanish road trip taken by Mario Batali, Gwyneth Paltrow, New York Times food writer Mark Bittman and Spanish actress Claudia Bassois.
We're jealous of this trip for many reasons (as well as Gwynnie's command of Spanish), but mostly because, according to Food and Wine, the famous foursome stayed at a handful of paradores--churches, palaces and monasteries converted into hotels by the government--including the nearly-impossible-to-get-into Parador de Granada.
