Ask and you shall receive. In a story the other week about the possible cold war thaw between feuding hoteliers Gregory Peck and Matt Moss (actually, that was just wishful thinking. The frenemy war rages on still), we asked for a copy of the Page Six magazine featuring some of NYC's hottest hoteliers.
And a kind soul sent us a copy!
In it, you see Jason Pomeranc (with ever-present arm candy/fashion publicist/girlfriend Ali Wise), Matt Moss and Greg Peck (totally did not pose together), scary Sean MacPherson and partner Eric Goode, the ever-dapper Andre Balazs, grunge hotelier Alex Calderwood of the Ace Hotel brand and chefs/restauaranteurs Todd English and Ken Friedman.
On Monday, we let you know that hotelier Gregory Peck was continuing on his own way (without "frenemy/hotel partner" Matt Moss) by opening the Crescent San Francisco in the city's Union Square nabe.
All we knew then was that he was going to redo the old Allison Hotel. Today we have some more detes.
The Crescent Hotel Group (Greg's company) is developing and redesigning the Allison. The Crescent Hotel Group will also manage the hotel once it opens. That opening could happen in nine to twelve months.
Like the Crescent BH, the hotel will have a restaurant and lounge. There will be 83 rooms, some with views into Union Square. With the other rooms presumably, the standard San Fran city view will apply.
While it's unclear whether San Francisco will be getting an Alcatraz Hotel or not, the city by the Bay will have a new hotel in Union Square from hotelier Gregory Peck.
As we mentioned last summer Peck was looking to spin off his Crescent Beverly Hills hotel and while we were hedging our bets that Palm Springs would be the place to do so, it turns out Peck is headed to San Fran.
Not much new to report here folks. Cooper Square Hotel is still not open. And it still has no website.
So we're highly skeptical of a late summer opening which was the last predicted date for the hotel (after the April/May 2008 time frame came and went)
Indeedy, we are even hearing some rumblings of a late fall opening, leading us to ask "Will we even care about this hotel when it finally does open?" Eh...we probably will. Afterall, we still got giddy when Six Columbus finally opened.
On another note, we hear Page Six Magazine managed to get the feuding hoteliers Matt Moss and Gregory Peck together for an article in its latest issue. Could this be the end of the cold war between the former besties?
(PS. We live in LA now. Not having the Post delivered to us daily is almost as bad as not having Dunkin' Donuts. Almost. Send us a copy of the article if you got one).
We can't believe it! Matt Moss and Gregory Peck, once besties growing up on Long Island, are like totally never speaking to each other again.
We kinda figured there was some trouble brewing when we interviewed Gregory Peck over the summer about the Cooper Square Hotel and he couldn't put us in touch with Matt Moss, only Matt's publicist. And then Matt's publicist was like "Whatever!" And then we had to rush off to P.E.
Anyways, the New York Observer totally outed the fight today and all these grown-up investors are like really POed that Moss isn't keeping them in the loop.
But like OMG, Matt Moss totally went behind Greg Peck's back and is starting MK Hotels with Klaus Ortleib and this is the group that will run the hotel. This is exactly what our Ouija board exclusively told us!! Major Dramz! But that's all for now. Gotta sing along to High School Musical. Luvya!

Flickr member Jebb of the East Village Podcast has dropped in a new photo of the Cooper Square Hotel in Manhattan. The exterior looks almost done but with a string of recent hotel delays affecting NYC and the rest of the hotel world, we don't think Cooper Square will open before Spring. But have no fear, we'll be keeping a close eye on the "enormous vibrator." (Jebb's words not ours.)
The hotel's backers are looking to buy three adjacent lots and the residents are to say the least, concerned. As you know, this is a pretty feisty bunch and they have resisted the hotel from the very beginning.
But what has them really concerned now is the planned second-floor terrace which ends just 30-inches from an apartment building next door. Thus they are presuring the community board to withhold a liquor license until the hotel can ease the residents' fears. And here is where Matt Moss speaks:
"The block association gave us a list of their concerns," says developer Matthew Moss of the Peck Moss Group. "We agreed right off the bat to half of them or so, but some of the things they wereasking for were a little difficult for us to agree to" and those are items that are still being discussed.
Still Moss agreed to soundproof the windows and air conditioners in nearby apartments so the residents won't have to deal with hotel party noise. The only glitch is that the landlord in the East 5th Street apartment building won't let installations proceed.
And the saga continues. We bet Gregory Peck is just relieved his name wasn't mentioned this time around.
Last Tuesday, we hit up the Crescent Beverly Hills for a Los Angeles Fashion Week party hosted by hotelier Gregory Peck and fashion designer Katy Rodriguez, who is also the co-owner of L.A. boutique Resurrection.
The party had a few purposes--one being to show off the Crescent BH's patio lounge area (obvs), but also to celebrate the launch of Audrey Bernstein's lifestyle and hospitality website, Oh Audrey and to showcase the newest issue of Big Magazine's "Big Show" issue, devoted entirely to fashion.
The party itself was rather low-key with guests from fashion and movie industry mingling both outside on the patio and inside the small lobby/general area. This cozy little space rather felt like someone's living room with party people kicking back on leather couches or sitting cross-legged on the floor as votives burned around the room.
Since our camera is a total booze-hound, the only picture that came out great is of the giant rum bottle from sponsor 10 Cane which had pretty girls serving passion fruit and lime daiquiries. But fortunately, we got our hands on some professional pictures which are posted after the jump.
