Chuck Bass Stays Up Too Late 'Gossiping' at the Mondrian SoBe
Celebrities they really are just like us. On weekend beach getaways, they, too, find themselves sleeping through the sunny Miami morning and rolling out of bed sometime after the noon hour, looking sorta dazed and probably vaguely aware that they were supposed to check out of their room several hours earlier.
And look! It's Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr (a.k.a. Chuck Bass and Vanessa on Gossip Girl) doing just that at the Mondrian South Beach.
The spotted-everywhere-lately celeb couple was in Miami for the weekend so Jessica could host a party during Miami Fashion Week. According to People, the two were caught this weekend hangin' in a cabana by the pool sipping champagne and then Gossip Girls (ha) snapped these shots of the two of them emerging from their room after supposedly sleeping until 3:00 pm.
Perhaps they were just up late "gossiping" the night before. Ain't nobody judging here.
And with rooms starting at $345 (at the very, very least), we hope they at least got to check out late.

On the Left Coast, Chuck Bass Hits the Hollywood Roosevelt
Gossip Girl here. When our favorite Upper East Siders abandon their Park Avenue perches and go west for the sun, at what hotspots might we expect to find the likes of S., Lonely Boy, Little J, Queen B., Nate and, perhaps most importantly Chuck Bass?
Predictably, when removed from their hotel-centric NYC world of Palaces and Hudsons, Manhattan's young fictional elite (well, their real-life counterparts) manage to find their way to, predictably, the Hollywood Roosevelt.

Gossip Girl Hotel :: Either Way, Someone At The Mercer's Gonna Screw Nate
Oh, poor, poor Nate on Gossip Girl. He's gotten himself caught between a rock and a hard bitch -- and we're not so sure it's going to be so easy for him to get out with his pretty, pretty face unscathed this time.
On last night's Gossip Girl episode, NYC suffered a citywide blackout, annoying Jenny got fired from her internship because for being exceptionally annoying, Serena and Dan got stuck in a confined space and were forced to confront their relationship issues, and it would seem that Blair's boyfriend Lord Marcus (or, "Lohhhd Mahcus") is maybe gay. That's pretty much what we gleaned from the episode, though you can check out a much more detailed recap and analysis over at our super-perceptive brother site Jaunted.
Back to Nate: he's gonna get screwwwed by someone at The Mercer Hotel.

A Gossip Girl Celebrates Her Real Birthday at Her Fictional Hotel Residence

Everyone pay attention as we are about to do some serious hotel education here. Blake Lively plays Serena van der Woodsen on the hottest new teen drama Gossip Girl. Serena dates (or doesn't, depending on the week) Dan Humphrey. Dan Humphrey is played by Penn Badgley. Penn and Blake are dating IRL (in real life). Are you following?
Gossip Girl is often filmed in the Palace Hotel which--on the show--is owned by Bart Bass, Serena's step-dad. On the show the Palace is uptown, but IRL it's midtown. Confused?
Blake Lively hosted her 21st birthday party at the Palace this week. IRL. With the cast of the show. Is your head exploding? Ours is!

Gossip Girl Hotel :: A Series of OMFG Moments at the Hudson

Marcus and Blair in the Hudson Hotel library.
He's sleeping with her, she's his ex's boyfriend's mother; then she walks in on them rolling around on the floor and exclaims "oh my effing God" and the ruthless exploitation of someone's desire to keep her dignity and marriage intact begins.
Ah, just another day in the lives of Manhattan's elite, as depicted flawlessly on the Best. Show. Ever. If you missed last night's Gossip Girl episode, jump on over to our brother site Jaunted, where they've done a bang-up job of breaking down the series of plot twists and mind-blowing web of toxic sexual entanglements for those of you who don't understand why any "well-preserved" 38-year-old duchess would end up in the arms of a high-schooler (nobody had to answer that question for us; he's Chace Crawford. Um, hello?)
This week, the gang was all over the Hudson Hotel: on the rooftop, in the library...our thoughts after the jump.

OMFG: 'Live Like Gossip Girl' Package at The Franklin Hotel

[UPDATE: The hotel has changed the luxury car service from four hours to one hour.]
Because living like the Gossip Girl fixture, Serena Van der Woodsen, at the Palace Hotel in Manhattan might take some serious liquidating of bank accounts, there's a much cheaper (although still expensive enough to impress your friends) package available at the Upper East Side's Franklin Hotel.
The renovated property is offering their own girlfriends getaway and wisely chose to do a Gossip Girl theme over an already overdone SATC theme.
The package includes two nights in an executive king guestroom, a $100 gift certificate to Henri Bendel (which Jenny could like totally use!), a $100 gift certificate for dinner and drinks at the Mansfields Hotel's M Bar (we say arrange a meeting with Chuck Bass there), admission for two at the Metropolitan Musuem of Art (you know, lunchtime on the steps), a "Gossip Girl" Guide to NYC, and luxury car service for up to four hours. (Take it to meet Dan in Brooklyn!)
Have mom and dad or your very own real-life Nate Archibald pony up the $999 for the package which is available through October 2008. Visit the Franklin Hotel website to book. Note: Seven day advance booking is required.

Spotted at the Palace Hotel: Serena van der Woodson

Thanks to major media hype about the new CW show Gossip Girl, we totally tuned in to get the scoop. In truth, we only got about 20 minutes into it because we drank a bottle of wine at dinner. Not unlike many Upper East Siders.
Anyways, props to The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz for once again producing a show mostly full of white people. Also, these teens are doing stuff we didn't do until well into our 20s like drink martinis and buy clothes at Henri Bendel's. Actually we still have not done the latter.
Since we didn't watch the full episode yet we won't give it a critique. But we will say that we cringed at Nate Archibald's line (and name), "Do you ever get the feeling everything is all planned out for us? And we're gonna end up like our parents?" Snore.
What is of note is that the main character Serena van der Woodson and her dysfunctional family live at the Palace Hotel. Serena and her BFF-turned-frenemy Blair Waldorf (yes, the names of these characters suck) grab a drink at the Palace Hotel and reminisce about dancing on tables "at Bungalow" which we assume is nightclub Bungalow 8. Mind you they share these stories over some martinis at the bar. Last time we checked no one made virgin martinis (Virgintinis? Ew, gross.)
Now that our hangover is going away, we'll tune in for the rest of the episode. Or not. However, we fully expect the sales/marketing team at the Palace to put together a "Gossip Girl Package" by the next episode.
