Is This The New Way to Get a Free Room in Vegas?

There are plenty of urban legends and myths about how to get free rooms, suite upgrades and other sorts of comps in Las Vegas but you may want to put all of those aside and consider a different (although drastic and permanent) route to your Vegas freebie---a tattoo.

Back in October over at VegasChatter we discovered that someone loved Caesars Palace so much that he tatted the logo on the back of his calf. Soon after, we learned that Caesars Palace was reaching out to him to give his something for this unbelievable act of devotion.

Today, Max Rudolph commented on VegasChatter how Caesars rewarded him---with a weekend stay in a suite and tickets to Cher. Amazing! Max also tells us that he's working on a new Caesars tattoo. We wonder what Caesars will reward him with next.

Which Vegas hotel would you tattoo on your body for a free room? Let us know in comments below. (Tattoo removal referrals are also welcome!)

Want a free (and chic) hotel room during your stay in Stockholm, Sweden? If you're a creative—meaning an artist, writer, designer (whether graphic, web, fashion or other) or musician—then the Creators' Inn By Elvine is for you.

A concept from the Swedish fashion brand Elvine, the Creators Inn has taken over a space within the Scandic Malmen Hotel in downtown Stockholm and transformed it into a 3-room suite with interior design and amenities based on answers to two questions:

1. "What are the most important needs of a traveling creator? How do they differ from “regular” guests?"
2. "What would your ultimate room for creators look like? What kind functions, products and services would be provided for the visiting creators?"

Marriott Will Kick Off Its Free Night Promotion on Monday

June 19, 2009 at 4:46 PM | by | ()

Anything for "free" will always get our attention so when we heard that Marriott Hotels would be kicking off its Free Night Stay promotion on Monday, we had to see what this was all about. And guess what? That free night stay can be yours but you will have to work at it a little.

When staying at a Marriott hotel in a city, you get the third night free when you book a minimum of three consecutive weekend nights (Thursday-Sunday.) But don't book that trip to New York or Toronto just yet. The offer is not good at continental U.S. or Canadian properties. However, it does apply to international cities like Berlin, Moscow and Paris (which has the pink-tastic Renaissance Arc de Triomphe.) In London, the free night is available mid-week only with three consecutive nights stay.

For $0, You Can Afford a Room at These Europe Hotels

February 24, 2009 at 4:01 PM | by | ()

Call us blasé, but we’re getting a bit bored of all the dirt cheap offers coming through at the moment. $99 in New York. £1 in London. Over it! What we really want is a free room – and our wishes are being granted.

First there was Elite Hotels' offer of a free night in one of their stately homes if you bought a bottle of Cristal. Nice offer, but at £278.50, still not that affordable.

But now it’s been joined by some rather less-heinously priced establishments.

Pop the Cristal and Get a Free Room at Elite Hotels

We’re getting used to hotels pumping out discounts and throwing extra goodies our way to get us to stay with them this year, but giving a room away for free? That’s taking it one step further.

Chi-chi UK chain Elite Hotels, which owns four sprawling countryside mansions in the south east of England including Luton Hoo (where such luminary films as Four Weddings and a Funeral and Eyes Wide Shut were filmed) is doing just that.

You have to spend a wedge to get the free room, of course; £278.50 (about $413) on a bottle of Louis Roederer Cristal 2002, to be precise. But then, there are worse things to throw your money at. Especially if you go for Luton Hoo, where rooms cost £275 and up in the first place.

The offer runs through the whole of February, excluding Valentine’s night – but if you cough up for the 14th and promise to buy the Cristal too, they’ll throw in an extra night for free.

And just think – if your loved one thinks you splashed out on a room fit for Hugh Grant as well as some rap-tastic bubbly, just how many brownie points will you have? (Don’t worry, they didn’t film the Eyes Wide Shut orgy scene there.)
