Book a Kimpton Emerald Bowl Package and Feel Free to Curse, Boo This Weekend

December 22, 2009 at 12:49 PM | by Heidi Atwal | 0 Comments

For many, Christmas weekend will be a time of screaming matches, heckling, and cursing under one's breath. These forms of anti-cheer have nothing to do with Aunt Mable's fruitcake or Uncle Tim's drunken dinner table insults, but football, everyone's favorite helmet colliding sport of the season.

Fans are hightailing it to San Francisco en masse to catch the Emerald Bowl on December 26, where USC and Boston College will go at it just 24 short hours after tinsel and wrapping have been cleared away. Finding a place to stay over the holidays, especially in a choice destination like San Francisco, is no easy feat, but several Kimpton properties in the city are offering convenient Emerald Bowl packages. Overnight tailgating in frigid weather is no fun, don'tcha know.

A FANatic Package for College Football Fans

Go To The Hotel's Web

Before the SuperBowl comes all the little college football bowls. There are too many for us to keep track of but the big one to watch is the FedEx National Championship between Florida and Oklahoma on Jan. 8th in Miami at Dolphin Stadium.

And where there are football games, there are fan packages.

The Catalina Hotel in South Beach, (a college-student friendly hotel) is offering the FANatic package at $195 a night which includes accommodations, game day memorabilia for your favorite team, a pre-game viewing partying in the Maxine lounge, a special game-day menu with drink and beer specials and then an after-party at the hotel as well.

The package does require a three-night minimum which is sort of lame but no doubt the college football parties will last three days before and after the big game.
