Embassy Denver's Free $30K Wedding Winner Announced
You saw their videos and heard their stories, and now you'll get to pick out the colors (and more) of their wedding. Congratulations to Robin and Jeremiah, who won the Embassy Suites Denver's $30,000 "Win a Wedding" contest.
More than 10,000 people voted in the online contest, which was held on the hotel’s Facebook page. The couple will tie the knot in front of 100 family members and friends on Saturday, May 18, in the hotel's Crestone Ballroom. We're not going to call it a celebrity wedding, but it comes pretty close. That's settled, but the fun is far from done: Voting will start next week to select all the wedding details, from the dress to the entertainment. Each week there will be something different to vote on. Invitations are on the ballot now (as of Wednesday), and the wedding dress is next up on February 27th (we imagine that will be one of the bigger debates). You can vote on the hotel's Facebook page.

We told you last week the Embassy Suites in Denver needs your help planning a $30,000 wedding giveaway.
You'll be able to vote on every detail down to the dress, but first you must decide which couple deserves to walk down the aisle in style. The contestants' videos are out, and the voting is in full effect! Now it's time for you to weigh in and decide their fate!
Robin and Jeremiah had a family member sing a song about them which, we must say, is so bad it's... bad (you'll see at the end). Jennifer and Chad literally put all their cards on the (poker) table (above) to convince us to vote for them.

Embassy Suites Wants You to Decide the Fate of This $30,000 Wedding
Even though we've taken shots to the ribs of reality shows in the past, there's something about the Denver Embassy Suites wedding giveaway that has us intrigued.
The fact that the hotel is giving away a $30,000 wedding is impressive to begin with, but when you factor in the complete concept -- that you can decide the details of the wedding itself -- the whole thing begins to get bizarre in a "can't wait to see how this plays out" sort of way.
Three finalists/couples have already been chosen by the hotel and will be revealed tomorrow on its Facebook page, at which point it will be up to voters to decide who will walk down the aisle (for free). You'll be able to see photos and video of the contestants upon which you can base your decision, and the winning couple will be announced on Valentine's Day. From there, the attention will turn to the planning phase.

A 2,000 lb Submersible, Just Hanging Out In An Embassy Suites Lobby
What goes under water, is piloted by teenagers, and is sitting in our lobby? asks the Embassy Suites Lake Tahoe. And the answer? Why, a 2,000 lb, 14-foot, fully functional submersible, of course.
A photo on the hotel's Facebook page shows the vessel just hanging out in the lobby. But this isn't some misplaced piece of furniture—it's actually on display at the hotel until next month, when it embarks on a series of 60 dives in Lake Tahoe.

American Atheists Kick Out the Easter Bunny in Des Moines
While the good little girls and boys of the world are donning their pastel Easter outfits and running around searching for Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies, the American Atheists are going to be partying it up at the Embassy Suites in Des Moines, Iowa this weekend.
The God-less group is hosting their national convention this weekend at the hotel and an estimated 700 people are expected to attend. That might not seem like a lot but apparently the Embassy Suites is already sold-out so the AA is pointing the overflow to the nearby Marriott. Gasp! What will the Mormons think about that?
The convention will feature several different speakers but will also host a Costume Buffet dinner tonight and a DeBaptism event, which is exactly what it sounds like. Now, we wonder how many people will be dressing up like the Easter Bunny for the buffet dinner tonight?

Embassy Suites Wants to Hear Your Embarrassing Holiday Party Stories
Already, we're seeing an avalanche of holiday-themed promotions and packages at hotels, but here's one that goes beyond turkey dinners and a big Christmas tree in the lobby. In fact, this promo from Embassy Suites seems almost public-service like.
The chain's Office Holiday Party No-Nos Contest is designed to promote good behavior at that most awkward of holiday events, with a pretty decent incentive for doing so. All red-faced office workers with an embarrassing holiday party story up their sleeves have to do is tell the world—well, the folks at Embassy Suites, anyways—all the messy, juicy details of said slip-up.

Embassy Suites Houston's Magical Duck Memorial
Hey, remember that duck who was just minding his own biz in an Embassy Suites ornamental pool when a crazy guest ripped off his head and threatened to eat it in an Embassy Suites Lobby? Ah, yes, well: it seems an Embassy Suites has erected an homage to him in the form of this hideous basket-y thing.
This is a snapshot from the Embassy Suites Houston, and it was staring at us from behind the coffee maker. Everyone in the room had some commentary about it: "that's something my grandma would have" or, more succinctly, "ew."
We're happy, though, that Embassy Suites has honored Mr. Duck's memory — but this belongs nowhere near the gigantic flat-screen TV and other updated amenities.

Embassy Suites Gets a 'Suite' New Mod Look
While Jaunted clearly seems to be a fan of Hyatt Place, longtime Embassy Suites loyalists will happy to hear that the brand is getting a new look in some of its hotels. At the new Embassy Suites in Jackson, Miss. location (the first in the state), guests will experience a "hip casual" decor throughout from the guest rooms to the Flying Spoons cafe where guests can order a light snack, a full gourmet meal or grab a fancy latte on the go.
