Orchard Hotels in San Fran Also Offering Rooms for a $1

Yesterday, we were all excited over the $1 hotel rooms being offered at the Alexander Inn but we would have to find a way to get to Philly all the way from the West Coast (sadly, there's no 50 cent Megabus from LA to Philly.) Today, our prayers have been answered as we just learned the Orchard Hotels in San Francisco will begin offering $1 guestroom starting on April Fools day.
Starting at 10am on Wednesday, April 1 guests can visit the Orchard Hotels website and reserve a $1 room with the promotional code "Fool!". Only one "foolish" room is available per reservation per night. Additional rooms begin at $159 per night. The two Orchard Hotels are the original Orchard Hotel at and the eco-friendly Orchard Garden Hotel (pictured above), both which are on Bush Street.
The package also includes a complimentary morning newspaper and WiFi.
While the deal is very real, the chances are tough. Each hotel only has one $1 room per night. And once the 60 allotted rooms are sold-out, the package will be closed. So set your alarms for April 1st at 10am to get the $1 room deal. And of course, tell us if it worked or not.

Alexander Inn Introduces 'Guest Stimulus Plan' with $1 Rooms

As if finding a way to Philly wasn't already rather cheap, now staying in the City of Brotherly Love is extremely, unbelievably, insanely affordable. And it's all thanks to the new Guest Stimulus Plan at the Alexander Inn which is offering limited rooms from Thursday through Sundays for $1.. No, that's not a typo. One George Washington is all you need.
Hotel owner Mel Heifetz said he decided to do the promotion to help out guests with their budgets but also to help out the city of Philly. Since folks don't have to spend so much on the hotel room, they can spend a little more on "art exhibits, show tickets, and in other neighborhood establishments." We couldn't agree more.
The promotion runs from March 10 to May 21. We suggest holding out until late April if you can as the hotel is going through a renovation which will see the arrival of new furniture in mid-April.
After the jump is the nitty gritty on the deal.

Hong Kong or Bust, Thanks to LastMinuteTravel's 'World for $1'
Warm up your fingers for some fast typing and do some breathing exercises to keep from hyperventilating, because now begins the second and final week of LastMinuteTravel's "World for $1" promotion. Last week saw some serious chatter around the net as to how to best nab these deals, available for a random 15 minutes each day, and it looks like the tip sharing helped as LMT has announced that already almost 1,000 reservations have been made. They've broken down the winnings further on their blog:
Since the beginning of The World for $1 sale, 928 reservations have been made for less than the cost of a movie ticket! And 48% of these reservations were for high-end, luxury hotels! The 2,197 people going on these vacations are headed to 224 different destinations with Orlando, Las Vegas, New York, Cancun and Honolulu topping the list!
That's quite a lot of exclamation marks, but all well-deserved as this is one contest you can actually win. In fact, we're living proof of it. All the stars aligned perfectly for us last week, and we ended up booking 7 nights in a 5-star hotel in Hong Kong. Pairing it with Cathay Pacific's airfare deal, we're amazed and delighted to say that we're doing a week in HK for under $1000, all-in. And we leave today. Good luck with all the clicking, and even though we'll be on another continent in less than 15 hours, we'll still be rooting for you from over there.

With Rooms For One Euro, Who Cares About Conversion Rates?

You'll pay close to $900 just to fly to Budapest (coach, natch), but it will only cost you less than two dollars to spend the night there.
That is, of course--there's always a catch, isn't there?--you act quickly.
In honor of the first birthday of its Budapest property on October 1, easyHotel is offering rooms that night for just one euro. (One euro!) But with just 59 rooms, expect it all to go very, very quickly.
The hotel is located on the Pest side of the Danube River and is a short walk to Hero's Square. This being easyHotel, you'll pay extra for things like watching television, housekeeping services and Internet access, but at just one euro (one euro!) for the night, we think you can afford to the splurge. Heck, go crazy and order up some extra towels!
