Book a Room at the W Boston, Get a Limited Edition Cynthia Rowley Scarf

We told you yesterday how the W Boston would be opening tomorrow but that rooms were unavailable for this upcoming weekend. Bummer (Are they not quite finished or sold-out? That is still the question.) However, rooms were open for next weekend at $260 a night for a Wonderful room.

But now it looks like the hotel has an opening "offer" that gives you some perks beyond just a room for the night. The W Boston Opening Experience includes in-room welcome cocktails; a chef-selected dessert at Market by Jean-Georges, a limited edition Cynthia Rowley scarf (exclusive to the W Boston) and a VIP Insider discount card to Cynthia Rowley that gives you 20 percent off all purchases at all Cynthia Rowley stores, even the ones in your hometown.

It's a great opening offer, if you happen to be Blair Waldorf from "Gossip Girl." So maybe it's a better Girls Weekend hotel than a Boys Weekend one. Rates start at $259 a night. The special offers link on the hotel's website is down right now but you can call the hotel directly to book. (617) 261-8700. Ask for the Opening Experience.

Today, we really wish that we could have brought you some stunning pictures of Cynthia Rowley's fashion show being held inside of the The Jane's revamped ballroom, but being on the list doesn't mean anything if the show is overfilled, and so we ended up just kicking it with the protestors across the street.

While the fashion types made the trek down from the Bryant Park tents to the far West Village for the show and queued up in the cold wind, a few Jane residents and their supporters held signs to draw attention to their position in the conversion of the property from SRO residency to hotel. In fact, a few of the signs were quite catchy, such as "are bed bugs the new black?"

NY Fashion Week Spills Over Into Big Name Hotels

February 13, 2009 at 1:13 PM | by JetSetCD | 2 Comments

Today is the day that stilettos and mascara wands invade the area around Bryant Park in New York City as Fashion Week winds up for weeks-worth of designer runway shows. With over 200 shows and presentations planned, not all can be held in the temporary tents at the official Bryant Park space, and this means that the city's trendy hotels end up with a healthy chunk of the action.

In case you happen to be in the Big Apple right now and are wondering why black town cars are whisking away fashionistas from your hotel stoop, we've compiled a list of the top hotel fashion destinations for events this week:

Cynthia Rowley Now Designs Hotel Uniforms

Fashion designer Cynthia Rowley has joined the newest hotel trend of designing uniforms for hotel staff. The NY Times reports the designer has just done the concierge and housekeeping uniforms at the Hotel Monaco in Denver, a Kimpton property.

So now we have Michael Kors for W, Narcisco Rodriguez for Gramercy Park Hotel, Daniel Vosovic for NYLO and Cynthia Rowley for Hotel Monaco. Who will be next?

As for the hotel itself, the Hotel Monaco was created by renovating two "landmark" buildings into one and incorporates "daring, rich and bold interiors" to give guest modern and luxurious accommodations. The rooms range from a double double room to Queen Deluxe and King Deluxe. Or you can shell out extra for the John Lennon, Grace Slick or Miles Davis suites.

The hotel was voted "Best Business Hotel" and one of the "Top 500 Best Hotels in the World" by Travel & Leisure magazine, and is within walking distance to the Colorado Convention Center and the 16th street mall, which is actually a free WiFi hotspot. But since the Monaco is a Kimpton hotel you get free WiFi anyways along with a complimentary wine reception each evening.
