Andre Balazs Planning Two Hotels for London (and Some More Time with Courtney Love)

We thought hottie hotelier Andre Balazs had checked-out of his relationship with Courtney Love (and paid her hotel bill too) but when we noticed her in the Halloween pictures at the Standard New York, we started to get worried.

Then came this story in the Daily Mail where it was reported that Courtney considers Andre the second love of her life (after Kurt) and that she's willing to clean up her act and follow him to the UK where he will open not one, but two hotels.( See HotelChatter's scoop on one of his hotels here.)

Now friends say [Andre] is besotted with the 46-year-old former cocaine addict and they plan to set up home in North-West London.

‘Andre flew Courtney to St Tropez to meet his father in the summer,’ says a friend. ‘He calls her by her middle name, Michelle, and they often just spend nights in eating ice cream and watching movies. They feel very strongly about each other.’

To show how strongly they feel, they spent all night making out at the Standard's Halloween party. Vom. Cute!

Someone is Still Hanging Around The Mercer Hotel

Whatever the status of relationship with hottie hotelier Andre Balazs may be, it's clear that rocker Courtney Love has not lost her love for the The Mercer Hotel. Stalkerazzi caught her smoking and checking her cell on the hotel's bench in front yesterday. And in a twist, we actually like what she's wearing, shoes and all.

We're not sure if she's still forcing letting AB to comp her stay but if she'd like to be an independent woman, rates at The Mercer are firmly set at $595 a night this weekend. Or if things are getting too awk with her staying at The Mercer, she could try the Crosby Street Hotel, which is a HotelChatter fave or even kick at the original Soho "lifestyle" hotel, 60 Thompson (both hotels also have similar rates.)

Either way Court, there's a lot of other fishes in the sea...er we mean, cool hotels in Soho.

A Breakup with Andre Balazs Means No More Free Hotel Rooms for Courtney Love

It looks like the free hotel hopping is over for crazy-as-all-getout rocker Courtney Love. She and her hot hotelier beau Andre Balazs have called it quits.

We were in disbelief when we heard that Love was shacking up with Balazs, whose exes include Uma Thurman. After all, Love seems more like the type to trash hotel rooms than date a hotel mogul. But now that the Hole singer is no longer dating Balazs, things will go back to normal at places like Chateau Marmont and Mercer Hotel.

We really wouldn't expect any different sort of behavior from the wackness that is Courtney Love but we do think her recent hotel stay at the Driskill Hotel for South by Southwest last month is interesting in light of her recent love interest.

Here's how a Billboard magazine reporter describes meeting with Love to discuss her new album with her band, Hole:

In six hours at the Driskill Hotel in Austin, the day after two excellent, return-to-form performances at South by Southwest (SXSW), she will do the following: show off all her clothes; explain her new style, which she calls “kook”; display financial documents on her battered laptop which, she says, prove she’s a victim of embezzlement; Google her new crush’s ex-girlfriend; learn two Big Star songs; and yell at various people about various things. She will talk. She will smoke.

On two occasions, she will smoke, talk and pee with the door open, all at once.

Unforgivable. Andre Balazs Dating Courtney Love (And Giving Her Free Rooms!)

Yesterday we saw some news going around about our sexiest hotelier Andre Balazs dating druggie crazy Courtney Love. The hook-up seemed so impossible we tossed the notion aside, dismissing it as an erroneous report. We just figured Courtney and Andre were seen talking closely at an event and the gossip reporters took that close-talking to mean they were dating.

But, no. We were wrong.

Courtney and Andre are dating and even worse, he's letting her stay in his hotels for free! Namely, she's been shacking up at The Mercer in NYC (above) and the Chateau Marmont. (Check out these pics of her on the bench in front of the Mercer.) Not to mention, she also performed at the Standard New York on New Year's Eve, much to our surprise.

Even though this is a post about a New Year’s Eve party, consider it a Public Service Announcement: Courtney Love is performing at The Standard NYC on New Year’s Eve.

Now, we made that bold but we feel like it deserves flashing red warning lights around it. We can’t think of anything worse than spending the first moments of 2010 with Love, but maybe you’re the kind of person who digs watching train wrecks happen right before your eyes, and can steel yourself for an awkward emotional outburst from the messiest person in the room come midnight.

Maybe you’d even like to spend $250 and up for that honor? That’s the starting price for tickets to this “party”—and they go into the thousands if you want a table with views of the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty.

Courtney Love Allegedly Trashes The Inn at Irving Place

This is the state of rockstars today: trashing the crap out of cute little boutique hotels like the Inn at Irving Place. Sad. And not very nice. And Courtney Love, girl, you are sort of too old to be doin' that sort of stuff, no?

While we were hangin' out and watching fireworks this weekend, Miss Courtney Love was busy with other things. Namely, she was apparently "trashing" her room. According to Page Six:

While the rocker was visiting New York on June 17 with her 16-year-old daughter, Frances Bean, sources say Love completely ruined her accommodations.

The hard-partying 44-year-old widow of Kurt Cobain left dirty needles and used feminine hygiene products behind, according to sources, and also flooded the floor.

Ew. Ew! Courtney! Girl! Come on. You leave a mess like that behind and you've gotta at least tip your housekeeper (and, um, tip them like $5000), you know?

For those of you unfamiliar, The Inn at Irving Place is twelve-room hotel "furnished with exquisite antiques reminiscent of the New York of Edith Wharton." Quaint and sweet, with rooms that start around $445 per night. Not a trashable-by-rockstars kind of place. Edith Wharton would not be impressed.

Courtney Love Blacklisted at Claridge's Hotel

Celebrities are just like us! They get blacklisted at hotels.

The latest blacklist happened to rocker trainwreck Courtney Love who reportedly wants to stay at the Claridge's Hotel on her next trip to London but they won't have her.

Love reportedly started a fire in her $3,000-a-night suite after smoking a cigarette during her last stay and the room had to be completely redecorated. A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "She's desperate to stay at Claridges again, but when her people tried to get her a suite it was a no go. Even the best known fixers in the business can't get her in there."

Not that we blame Claridges. We wouldn't even let Love use our telephone.

Courtney Love Trashes the Covent Garden Hotel

Courtney Love turned 43 yesterday and celebrated by playing a gig in London's Bush Hall. In true Courtney Love fashion, she followed up her show by boozing the night away at the Covent Garden Hotel and totally trashing her room.

The Daily Mirror reports:

"She had used the place as an ashtray with butts strewn about and burn marks all over the bed, carpet and upholstery...Staff said the room was left in a right state - like a wild animal had been let loose in there."

Courtney's rep says the damage was caused by a friend "leaning on the table." Guess it was a magic table that, when leaned on, comes to life and burns everything in the room with cigarettes.

Get it together, Courtney. You're 43. Not even Britney trashes hotel rooms.
