Geeks, Get Ready to Book Your Hotel for Comic-Con on March 9

Comic-Con may not be until July, but if you Trekkies, Twi-Hards—yes, the Breaking Dawn cast is rumored to be making an appearance—or other assorted geeks want a hotel anywhere near the San Diego Convention Center, get ready to plant yourself in front of the computer. Online reservations to the the largest comics and pop-culture convention on the continent open March 9.

Comic-Con's discounted hotel rooms go faster than free Scott Pilgrim swag, so it's important to book yours asap. Sure, a free shuttle runs between the convention center and conference hotels, but your best bet is to grab a hotel as close to the sci-fi scene as possible.

Some Last-Minute Hotel Options for Comic-Con Travelers

Comic-Con will land in San Diego next week from July 21 to 25, and while geeks all over the country are excited to attend and see J.J. Abrams, Joss Whedon, Ray Bradbury and Neal Adams, what's not so exciting is trying to book a hotel near the event.

Most of the hotels near the Comic-Con site have sold out, but there are still options for late comers to the sci-fi party. But book 'em now, because they likely will go faster than you can say "fanboy."

May the Force Be with You When Booking a Comic-Con Hotel Today

The Hilton San Diego Bayfront hosted Comic-Con's "New Moon" press conference last year.

Comic-Con fanboys and girls are busy geeking out over this year's slate of special guests, like comics guru Neal Adams, who transformed Adam West's campy Batman to the tortured "Avenger of the Night," but move away from the fan sites and secure a hotel room, since they go on sale today.

The 41st annual San Diego event goes down July 22 to 25, but hotel reservations open today at 9 a.m., Pacific time, online. Offered at a discounted convention rate, the hotels usually sell out in the first few hours, so it's important to book one of the 38 hotels asap. We offer a few suggestions after the jump.
