Robert Pattinson Among Gucci Gawkers at the Plaza

That Gucci event Madonna hit up Wednesday night? Turns out lots of big-name celebs were there — and (control yourselves, Twilight nerds) Robert Pattinson was there too.
On Wednesday night, Gucci celebrated the launch of their new Tattoo Heart collection with a super swanky celebratory dinner at the Plaza Hotel's Oak Room.
According to Women's Wear Daily, it was like, a fun party that played Rihanna and was attended by "Gossip Girl" cast instead of string-quartet-stuffy soiree.
Man, Robert Pattinson is seriously loving life right now, isn't he? One minute he's just an awkward Cedric Diggory and now he's a megastar going to Gucci parties with Madonna and stuff. However, we don't think he actually stayed at The Plaza as he was snapped leaving the hotel. We guess even a tween vampire sensation can't afford the $775-room rate.

Madonna and Sean Penn Catch Up at the Greenwich

Possibly celebrating her divorce from Guy Ritchie (but more likely just sitting down to catch up), the ubiquitous Madonna chit-chatted over drinks with her first ex-hubby, Sean Penn, at Robert DeNiro's Greenwich Hotel Wednesday night. We wonder if the two of them picked the Greenwich 'cause Sean Penn was just in a movie with him (the underhyped What Just Happened — no, we don't know much about it either).
The always-informative Page Six puts the whole evening in context for us:
Madonna...had drinks at the Greenwich Hotel with her first ex-husband, Sean Penn, Wednesday night after attending a Gucci event with mega-manager Guy Oseary. Guy had reason to celebrate too, as his Maverick Films exec-produced "Twilight," the teen vampire movie, appears headed for blockbuster status.
Yeah, producing Twilight is a reason to celebrate for reals, especially considering such culty traveling fangirls all this Twilight hype seems to be generating. And yet another reason for Madge to celebrate: she was allowed into the Greenwich Hotel, which is more than some of us can say.
PS: what does Madonna drink when she goes out "for drinks"? Do they stock Kabbalah Water at the hotel bar?

Spotted amongst other depressing business news at The Wall Street Journal online: More than a month after opening their doors on the Palm Jumeirah, the Atlantis Dubai will be toasting their hotel tonight with a massive $20 million dollar shindig. The recession be damned, the Atlantis is going to party like its 1999 with Kylie Minogue performing and Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra serving as "Goddess of Atlantis."

Nicky Hilton Breaks the Rules at ME Cabo Hotel

Speaking of Cabo San Lucas, it seems that wannabe hotelier Nicky Hilton jetted down to the Mexican resort town to spend some time with her boyfriend at the ME Cabo Hotel. But perhaps Nicky thought she was in France because she was caught trying to suntan topless. Always on the alert for naked celebrity gossip, Page Six reports:
[Nicky Hilton] was spotted at the Nikki Beach hotel "sunbathing topless in a white Louis Vuitton bikini with her boyfriend, David Katzenberg. "Hotel staff had to tell her to cover up because topless sunbathing is not permitted in Mexico," our tipster giggled.
Actually, the Nikki Beach nightclub is on the premises of the ME Cabo Hotel and they also run the beach part of the hotel. It's kind of confusing because Nikki Beach does have some hotels out there as well as nightclubs. But we're pretty sure Nicky Hilton was trying to let her girls out at the ME Cabo. Still, why didn't she just book one of the level rooms with a private terrace?
Wanna be like Nicky? The ME Cabo is offering a "Cabo Delight Special" with 20 percent off regular room rates. Just keep your top on.

Dear Jennifer Aniston,
Hey, girlfriend. Loved you on Oprah last week. And you know what? You're right: what Angelina did was very uncool, but it was also rather unfortunate that Vogue pulled that little tidbit from your interview and used it as your cover line on the front of the December issue, dontchya think? Yikes. Guess they didn't clear that one with your people first, huh?
Anyway, we're not here to talk to you about that — nor are we here to point out that your lovah John Mayer is starting to look a wee bit Marc Anthony-esque (if this photo on People.com is to be believed) — but rather, your choice of hotels in which to make public appearances is getting a little, well, how should we say this? Boring, Jen. Really, really effing boring.

Oh, how we so wish we could give you a personal Party Dispatch from this weekend's Fontainebleau Miami grand re-opening festivities on this fine Monday morning. We do wish we could tell you all about how we stuffed our faces with hors d'ouvres and gawked at celebs on Friday night, and then we'd casually chat with you about how we spent Saturday evening joking around with the models from the Victoria's Secret fashion show before it was taped at the hotel's new poolscape that night. But, alas, we were not there.
But! We know enough about the guest list and the parties that, uh, we can tell you about it so we can all feel like we were there!

Serena Williams Stays at the Serena Hotel

Tennis superstar Serena Williams is in Kenya for a three-day charity tour and she's decided to shack up at a very fitting hotel for her, The Serena Hotel in Nairobi.
The one half of the William’s tennis sister-act and nine grand slam singles title winner, was befittingly whisked to Nairobi’s Serena Hotel where she will be based during her stay in the country.
Aside from having the same name as an athletic idol, The Serena Hotel is not a bad place to stay. The hotel has views of downtown Nairobi and the city's Central Park and has some of the modern comforts we need, like a pool, satellite TV and wireless internet hotspots. There's even an in-house salon for beauty treatments in case you spend a few days on safari.
While several reviews would probably not classify this hotel as luxurious in the vein of a Mandarin Oriental or Four Seasons, we're sure Serena is getting the star treatment in the hotel's presidential suite.

· Naomi Watts Hits up the Mercer: The Celebrity Babies Blog (oy) posted a snapshot of Naomi Watts at The Mercer Hotel today.
· Donald Trump Takes Care of J-Hud: Donald Trump has a heart. And he's giving it to the grieving Jennifer Hudson by letting her and her family stay at the Trump Chicago Hotel and Tower for free. [Chicago Sun-Times]
· Layoffs Hit Hotel Amenity Company: Marietta Corp. in upstate NY which makes small bottles of shampoos and other hotel amenity items has laid off 130 employees. Could it be due to the demand for sexy in-room dispensers?
· Anthony Bourdain is Loyal to the Raleigh: Speaking of The Raleigh Hotel today, Anthony Bourdain says this is his favorite hotel in South Beach.

Kim Kardashian Hits Up InterContinental's "Make-A-Wish Nightclub"

On Saturday night in Miami, famous-for-no-reason starlet Kim Kardashian hit up a "nightclub" for reasons that may have actually been noble -- and it appears she wore a tasteful outfit, too.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation threw its 14th Annual InterContinental Make-A-Wish Ball at the InterContinental Miami, a nightclub-themed evening hosted by Miami nightlife kings Michael Capponi and Shareef Malnik.
According to the invitation we got, Adrian Grenier was supposed to be there too, but we haven't caught any photos of him yet -- but then again, he probably doesn't take time out of his evening to strut around to different areas of the hotel to ham it up for the cameras like some people. Kim, unsurprisingly, got herself a nice little hand massage in the hotels MySpa and then headed up to the Royal Suite for another photo shoot before she made her grand arrival at the ball.
According to Gossip Girls, Kimmy K played "emcee for a live auction, which came amidst a mystical-themed dinner [and] a musical performance by The Honey Brothers."
We're happy to see her doing something for a good cause, but we seriously hope she didn't ask to be paid for this appearance. And, more importantly, was dreamboat Adrian Grenier there?

Hyatt Introduces Travel Personality Quiz

Usually we hate quizzes. We get enough silly quiz requests on Facebook that we're pretty much over them. But the new The Hyatt Travel Quiz actually has a decent pay-off.
Adapted from an "established" personality test, the quiz has 12 questions that aim to categorize what type of travel type you are: Romantic, Balanced, Energetic or Driven. Once they've figured out what you are, the results also give you tips on how to relate to other travel personalities out there and of course, cross-promotes any Hyatt Retreats packages and destinations that are suitable for your travel type.
Aside from finding out how you like to travel (like you needed a quiz to do that), the real pay-off comes for those who take the quiz before November 7th. If you do and find yourself to be a match with reality TV stars Trista and Ryan Sutter, you will be entered for a chance to win a Hyatt Retreats getaway with the celebrity couple to Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa in California.Let's just hope their celebreality quotient also matches up with yours.
We took it (after handing over all our basic contact info) and found that we were not a match with Trista and Ryan but that our Balanced travel type might like the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in LA, Hyatt La Manga in Spain and Hyatt on the Bund in Shanghai. Hotel Allegro Hosts Halloween Party and One Republic Drops In

For those of you who may have thought celebrating Halloween at a hotel was lame, think again. The Hotel Allegro hosted a Halloween and pumpkin carving contest during their regular wine-hour. And the rock band One Republic (you know 'em as "It's too late to apologiiiiize") popped in and mingled with the staff and guests.
While there are no pics of One Republic yet, we did get a few snapshots of the hotel staffers all dressed up. Those are actually the costume contest winners above. And because we know you love dogs in costumes as much as we do, there's a special one thrown in after the jump.

Pete and Ashlee Choose Hotel Bel-Air for Baby Wentz's Shower

We've given the Hotel Bel-Air a hard time in the past. Travel + Leisure named it the number one hotel in L.A. this summer, and we spent a little bit of time wondering if the property was worthy of such a title.
But nevermind what kind of recognition we think the hotel deserves: a very preggers Ashlee Simpson deemed it worthy of hosting her baby shower.
On Saturday, Ashlee's mom and famous sister threw her a co-ed baby shower in the hotel's Palm Room (above) with 40 guests and some crabcakes. Star Mag had the scoop:
"The room was decorated with yellow and orange roses, and guests were given jars of honey with custom-made labels that said 'Baby Wentz' and 'Thank You For Celebrating My Life' on them," says a party guest. "The girls were also given bracelets that had a big bumble bee on them.
Frankly, we were a little bit surprised that the fam selected the classic Bel-Air for the soiree rather than one of L.A.'s trendier, more modern hotspots -- especially given the faux-hipster-ish look of the young couple. Perhaps this means the choice to go with the classic, older-glam hotel is an indication that Ashlee and Pete are growing up a little bit ... or maybe they just didn't want the usual paparazzi to be all over them.
