Remind us never to stay at the same hotel as Jennifer Aniston, as we might, in our star-struck, child-of-the-90s Friends nerd-dom accidentally get someone fired.
At least, that's what happened last week in Santa Fe at the Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado, when a hotel employee got the boot for divulging too much about Aniston's presence.
According to TMZ, a few guests had already spotted Aniston basking in the hotel's spa (evidently taking some time away from her usual LA haunt, the Sunset Tower). When shuttle bus driver Terry Siegler was asked about it, he confirmed she was in fact staying at the property, and even went on to talk her up a bit. But a few of Aniston's minions overheard the incident, and flipped out. Hotel management got involved, and before he knew it, Siegler was out of a job.

Lesser known but no less worthy, the fest has got former mayor Clint Eastwood weighing in on his namesake award, lectures and workshops, and VIP cocktail parties. There’s also a seaside cache no big city fest can touch with a Saturday night movie on the beach, the Filmmakers Beach Bash (think boatloads of Monterey County wine) and the elegant, pooch-tastic Cypress Inn.
Just two blocks from Carmel Beach, the 44-room landmark inn makes especially good sense during the Carmel Art and Film Fest not only for its vintage Hollywood beauty but also because of its co-owner, legendary cinema star Doris Day. Belonging to a collection of Carmel Boutique Inns and around since 1929, Cypress Inn is hodgepodge of charm and style with a Mediterranean vibe, in-room fireplaces, vaulted ceilings and that magically compact grandeur only seen in Carmel-By-The-Sea. You’ll get this right away on site of the hotel’s elevated, vintage entrance, something that always grabs us from the start.

Anyone looking to learn a little more about the world of extended-stay hotels ought to take a look at the brief report we posted last week. If, however, you're all too familiar with the notion of week-long or month-long hotel stays, and have been doing them for years, then you're aware that things can get boring. Fast.
Thank goodness, then, that Staybridge Suites has teamed up with TV personality G. Garvin to film a 25-minute video clip that helps travelers deal with the strain of being alone in a hotel room every night with nothing fun to do.
Garvin apparently knows a thing or two about being lonely on the road. That's what leads him to say things like, "I feel your pain," and then launch into a 25-minute discourse on life-saving matters like how women should pack less shoes, and how turkey chili, turkey quesadillas and turkey tacos are actually a really great "quick" meal to whip up in a hotel kitchenette.
Moral of the story: G. Garvin has a real thing for turkey.

While hotels in Atlantic City usually tend to hover around a reasonable $110 or $130 a night, rates have shot through the roof for the upcoming holiday weekend. In the days leading up to Labor Day, AC properties are asking for up to $500-$600 a night, and many of them are already sold out.
Including Revel, which has two special guests headlining at the resort this weekend: Cee Lo Green and The Eagles. Each of them will be putting on concerts—Cee Lo at The Social on Friday and Saturday nights, and The Eagels at Ovation Hall on Saturday and Sunday nights—to amp up the Labor Day festivities, which include fireworks on the beach, casino giveaways, BBQ parties, a White Party, and burlesque at the Royal Jelly nightclub.
But for those who just want the concert tickets without having to worry about secretly crashing in Revel's lobby, here are a few other hotels that still have availability.

On a recent visit to Boston, Taylor Swift was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Celebrities Who Have Been Ignominiously Kicked Out Of Hotels (CWHBIKOOH), though as far as we know she hasn't written a song about it yet. According to the Daily Mail, the singer's time at the Fairmont Copley Plaza was cut short when someone at the hotel asked her to leave.
Taylor and her boyfriend, Conor Kennedy, were attending Conor's cousin's wedding, but when they showed up, the bride's mother, Victoria Gifford Kennedy, said she didn't want Taylor hogging all the attention away from her daughter's big day. In fact, she had already told Taylor, via text, she wasn't welcome, but Taylor showed up anyway. Real classy.

So many hotels, so many memories...
From Vancouver to Toronto to Charlie Chaplin's old house in Hollywood, Twilight co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart managed to cover a lot of ground in their days of hotel-hopping, filming scenes for their movies, and jetting off on romantic weekends together. But now, the trail of trysts is coming back to haunt poor RPatz.
While promoting his latest film, Cosmopolis, in NYC, the star allegedly checked into the Mandarin Oriental, where he figured five nights in the hotel's depressingly large Presidential Suite would be a great way to reclaim some much-needed 'me' time.
Or wind up crying in the glass-enclosed "shower for two." One of the two.
The ever-opinionated Karl Lagerfeld is once again slapping his signature stamp on a hotel.
This time, the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo has been graced with the designer’s over-the-top touch. A few spaces are been redesigned in the 19th-century Belle Époque property including the pool, terrace and gardens. One part has already been Lagerfeld-ized with 15 fresco-style etched-glass and backlit panels that recount Ulysess’ Voyages.
We also hear from the Telegraph there are some frescoes of Baptiste Giabiconi, the designer's favorite male model, in which he’s portrayed as a Greek god. Oh, lawd. It’s every bit as bananas as you’d expect from a man who made a Paris hotel suite with a chocolate model in it. (See below.)

The NY Daily News reports that just hours after a man tragically jumped to his death from the hotel's 22nd floor rooftop, another woman—totally unrelated, and in a different part of the hotel—collapsed to the floor and began having an epileptic seizure. Luckily for her, a nice man came to her side and held her hand until the fit passed. His name was Stephen Baldwin.

The vine-covered terraces of LA's most legendary celebrity-frequented hotel proved the perfect spot for Katy Perry to do a little canoodling with newfound beau, a fellow pop singer of some note.
And while the hotel has seen plenty of celebs flowing in and out since day one (it's even rumored to be getting its own Aaron Sorkin-produced HBO series), on Wednesday night, photographers stationed outside got money shots of Perry sheepishly trying to exit the hotel unnoticed.
Which you obviously can't do at the Chateau Marmont. And which Katy Perry especially can't do when she's riding in the passenger seat of John Mayer's car.

The film, It's A Jackie Thing, chronicles the rise and fall of a "gender-bending party" called Jackie 60 that used to happen downtown in the 90s. The W, however, was chosen because its building used to house another 90s drag party called Bump. Who knew?

Fans of the Top Chef judge will be excited to know that after the wild success of Craft and 'wichcraft (among others, of course), Tom Colicchio has decided to open his first hotel on Long Island, New York.
It won't be some flashy chain, or have any kind of gimmicky concept—at least not for now. The hotel is in fact an old, quiet 22-room inn in Bridgehampton called Topping Rose House (love the name!), and at the adjoining restaurant, Colicchio plans to use produce grown on the property in the dishes. Giving farmer-wannabe Andre Balazs a run for his locally-sourced money...
91 days, 16 hours, and 54 minutes. That's the countdown to the opening of Brooklyn's new Barclays Center, a major new addition to the borough, and the new home of the Brooklyn Nets (formerly the New Jersey Nets). Understandably, residents are excited. Jay-Z (one of the arena's directors, and the opening night performer) is excited. Brooklyn hotels are excited.
And it seems, so is Lebron James. The NY Daily News picked up on a comment James made to Late Show host David Letterman, when he got asked how the Nets' relocation to Brooklyn will affect James and his teammates.
What do you suppose was the very first thing on his mind? Hotels.
