On a recent visit to Boston, Taylor Swift was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Celebrities Who Have Been Ignominiously Kicked Out Of Hotels (CWHBIKOOH), though as far as we know she hasn't written a song about it yet. According to the Daily Mail, the singer's time at the Fairmont Copley Plaza was cut short when someone at the hotel asked her to leave.

Taylor and her boyfriend, Conor Kennedy, were attending Conor's cousin's wedding, but when they showed up, the bride's mother, Victoria Gifford Kennedy, said she didn't want Taylor hogging all the attention away from her daughter's big day. In fact, she had already told Taylor, via text, she wasn't welcome, but Taylor showed up anyway. Real classy.

So many hotels, so many memories...

From Vancouver to Toronto to Charlie Chaplin's old house in Hollywood, Twilight co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart managed to cover a lot of ground in their days of hotel-hopping, filming scenes for their movies, and jetting off on romantic weekends together. But now, the trail of trysts is coming back to haunt poor RPatz.

While promoting his latest film, Cosmopolis, in NYC, the star allegedly checked into the Mandarin Oriental, where he figured five nights in the hotel's depressingly large Presidential Suite would be a great way to reclaim some much-needed 'me' time.

Or wind up crying in the glass-enclosed "shower for two." One of the two.

The ever-opinionated Karl Lagerfeld is once again slapping his signature stamp on a hotel.

This time, the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo has been graced with the designer’s over-the-top touch. A few spaces are been redesigned in the 19th-century Belle Époque property including the pool, terrace and gardens. One part has already been Lagerfeld-ized with 15 fresco-style etched-glass and backlit panels that recount Ulysess’ Voyages.

We also hear from the Telegraph there are some frescoes of Baptiste Giabiconi, the designer's favorite male model, in which he’s portrayed as a Greek god. Oh, lawd. It’s every bit as bananas as you’d expect from a man who made a Paris hotel suite with a chocolate model in it. (See below.)

Anyone who took a look at our NYC news brief on Friday knows that last week wasn't such a great week for the Peninsula New York. But when hotel freak incidents rain, they pour...

The NY Daily News reports that just hours after a man tragically jumped to his death from the hotel's 22nd floor rooftop, another woman—totally unrelated, and in a different part of the hotel—collapsed to the floor and began having an epileptic seizure. Luckily for her, a nice man came to her side and held her hand until the fit passed. His name was Stephen Baldwin.

The vine-covered terraces of LA's most legendary celebrity-frequented hotel proved the perfect spot for Katy Perry to do a little canoodling with newfound beau, a fellow pop singer of some note.

And while the hotel has seen plenty of celebs flowing in and out since day one (it's even rumored to be getting its own Aaron Sorkin-produced HBO series), on Wednesday night, photographers stationed outside got money shots of Perry sheepishly trying to exit the hotel unnoticed.

Which you obviously can't do at the Chateau Marmont. And which Katy Perry especially can't do when she's riding in the passenger seat of John Mayer's car.

A NY Times piece yesterday picked up on an artsy film screening taking place over at W Times Square.

The film, It's A Jackie Thing, chronicles the rise and fall of a "gender-bending party" called Jackie 60 that used to happen downtown in the 90s. The W, however, was chosen because its building used to house another 90s drag party called Bump. Who knew?

Tom Colicchio Looking for Top Staff for His New Hamptons Inn

July 9, 2012 at 9:16 AM | by | Comments (0)

Fans of the Top Chef judge will be excited to know that after the wild success of Craft and 'wichcraft (among others, of course), Tom Colicchio has decided to open his first hotel on Long Island, New York.

It won't be some flashy chain, or have any kind of gimmicky concept—at least not for now. The hotel is in fact an old, quiet 22-room inn in Bridgehampton called Topping Rose House (love the name!), and at the adjoining restaurant, Colicchio plans to use produce grown on the property in the dishes. Giving farmer-wannabe Andre Balazs a run for his locally-sourced money...

New Brooklyn Hotels Mean, Among Other Things, A Place For Lebron James To Party

June 28, 2012 at 9:02 AM | by | Comments (0)

91 days, 16 hours, and 54 minutes. That's the countdown to the opening of Brooklyn's new Barclays Center, a major new addition to the borough, and the new home of the Brooklyn Nets (formerly the New Jersey Nets). Understandably, residents are excited. Jay-Z (one of the arena's directors, and the opening night performer) is excited. Brooklyn hotels are excited.

And it seems, so is Lebron James. The NY Daily News picked up on a comment James made to Late Show host David Letterman, when he got asked how the Nets' relocation to Brooklyn will affect James and his teammates.

What do you suppose was the very first thing on his mind? Hotels.

The Spice Girls Reunite (Sort Of) Inside London's St. Pancras Renaissance

Yesterday, London's St. Pancras Renaissance played host to yet another momentous Spice Girls occasion (the first being in 1996, when the hotel was featured in their debut music video, Wannabe).

Posing together for photos on the same iconic staircase, the group announced a new Spice Girls-themed musical. Ooooh!

Just like the Spice Girls themselves, the St. Pancras has gone through plenty of changes over the years; the most major being its renovation and subsequent re-branding by Marriott in 2010. After being re-introduced to the world as a Renaissance, the hotel has received mixed reviews but never quite failed to stay out of the limelight—between the Spice Girls, a rave review by Elle, and a Kardashian appearance, St Pancras is still a London hotel people really, really wanna see.

We Hope The Lanesborough Knows What They're Getting Themselves Into...

The other month we reported that Kanye West and a few other rappers were living it up at The Lanesborough. Little did we know that West's new main squeeze, Kim Kardashian—as well as the entire Keeping Up With The Kardashians film crew—would be following him there. And so quickly!

The Mirror reports that Kim has officially landed in London, and though Kim's hotel hasn't been confirmed, it is likely that the pair will be spending a significant amount of time at The Lanesborough, where West has booked an entire floor.

Knowing how much both Kim and Kanye love holing up for weeks at a time in the world's trendiest hotels, we shudder to think what their hotel-hopping powers combined might accomplish. A flour-bombed, hot-boxed, multifunctional naked yoga and recording studio? With any luck, yes.

Back last fall, we were having some seriously lovey-dovey feelings after visiting the Peninsula New York's wraparound Sun Terrace, an intimate urban oasis, raised up on the twenty-first floor of the hotel with sprawling views of midtown, endless rows of black deck chairs, and most importantly, a strong sense of quiet.

Today, we learn that we're not the only ones with a strong sense of attachment to the place. Fellow hotel lover John Travolta felt so comfortable during visits to the tranquil spa that he was known to get a little, er....intimate with some of the male masseurs employed there.

Now, a former masseur at the hotel has come forward claiming Travolta's bad behavior landed him on the hotel's black list back in the early 2000s, after multiple male employees flat out refused to be alone in a room with him.

For a woman who's known for singing about butterflies and rainbows and daydreams, it's no surprise that for her fourth annual wedding vow renewal ceremony, Mariah Carey towed husband Nick Cannon all the way to Paris for a cutesy—and very public—display of affection at The Plaza Athenee.

Dressed in matching white outfits, the super-famous couple got down with some major PDA at the PAP.

The Daily Mail points out that while the actual ceremony took place on top of the Eiffel Tower, the couple invited photographers to the hotel afterwards so they could get a slice of the action. Yes, the tip of the tower peeking through in the distance is like something out of a fairytale, though we'd honestly be just as happy enjoying the same view from one of the hotel's award-winning bathtubs. We're easy to please.
