It's Double Decker Transport for the Bieb in London

After being trapped inside a Liverpool hotel Beatles-style earlier this year, you'd think that the Bieb would make an effort to travel a little more incognito. Not the case. The pop star and sometimes rapper hopped onboard a private hire double-decker bus to arrive at the Royal Garden Hotel in London's posh Kensington neighborhood this weekend.

theWit Hotel Chicago Got Mixed Up with a Virgin and a Billionaire Last Night
Last night in a terrifically rainy Chicago, Virgin top dog Richard Branson filled up theWit Hotel with VIPs and held court on the roofdeck, joined by celebrities just in on one of Virgin America's first flights to Chicago from LAX and SFO. We caught Tim Meadows in the elevator, Adrian Grenier shying away from cameras, and Creed Bratton from The Office chilling...just to name a few. Of course Creed was our absolute favorite spotting of the eve.
It was a motley bunch, but in true Virgin style. The purpose of the whole thing was to announce to the Windy City that Virgin America has finally begun flights here, after three straight years of battling it out with the legacy airlines. It's such a big deal, that the party to celebrate the flights' arrival was also a Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Wines affair. And it's rumored that Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel joined Branson in his suite for pow wow.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson Do a Balcony Dance at the Copacabana Palace
The current big news on the celeb front has to do with the migration of the Twilight cast and crew down to Rio de Janeiro, where the honeymoon scenes of the upcoming Twilight: Breaking Dawn are being filmed. Stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are of course staying at the most iconic hotel in town, the Copcabana Palace, where their top-floor suite hasn't escaped the telephoto lenses of the paparazzi.
The Daily Mail claims that the duo briefly stepped out onto their terrace to wave and shimmy for the fans down below, but as you can see from the location of their suite on the picture of the hotel below, we doubt the fans without binoculars could even seen them.

Lindsay Lohan: The Philosopher of Soho House?
We know that any Soho House property is an instant celebrity-magnet, but luckily London's newish Dean Street Townhouse has managed to stay quainter, quieter, and believe or notcheaper.
And yet, while having breakfast one morning in the restaurant attached to the hotel, we absent-mindedly let our eyes run over the classic art upon the walls, until it hit upon this curious quote. Mystical and somewhat inspiring as it was, we could barely focus on anything but to whom the wise words were attributed. According to the Dean Street Townhouse, it comes from the mouth of the infamous Lindsay Lohan.
Let's take a closer look, shall we?...

Next On Our List of London Hotel Tea Times: The Goring
Next time we're in London and looking for the best afternoon tea in town, we know where we'll try next: The Goring.
We just happened to stroll past the proud facade of the stately hotel recently, and sitting as it does around the corner from Buckingham Palace, we hear that taking tea here comes with a slight chance of being in the company of royals. Of course, it'll cost ya. Afternoon tea service here runs from 25 GBP ($38) per person for the regular selection, or 34 GBP ($52) per person for the whole deal with a glass of champagne. And we haven't even talked about room rates yet, which occasionally dip as low as $450 a night, but that's if you're lucky.
Perhaps we'll return when the outdoor terrace opens up in mid-May, and then we have our tea and our royals and our champagne and our sunshine, too.

Is The Jane Hotel's Ballroom Reopening Or What?
What swank hotel watering hole opened in June 2009, quickly became a favorite of celebrities and a source of contention for the neighbors, before quickly closing in October? Why yesit's the Ballroom at New York's Jane Hotel, and although it promised to sort things out with its occupancy issues and whatnot, it hasn't yet reopened, even missing New York Fashion Week when it could have made dumptrucks full of cash.
But then this morning, rumors hit the web that the Ballroom would be back in business as soon as this upcoming Monday. Of course, just as soon as those rumors began to spread, the Jane Hotel's people told Eater NY, that they were "silly rumors" and "not true." But when we checked in with the hotel's reps later today we heard that the ballroom would be opening "soon" but there was "no finalized timeline."
As usual in NYC, pr signals are crossed. We'll have to wait and see if the Olsen Twins are rolling down Jane Street in their towncars come Monday or not.

Trade WeHo for Downtown L.A. Hotels on Grammy Weekend

Views of Downtown L.A. from the rooftop of The Standard
Awards season has hit its stride in Los Angeles, ushering an even greater influx of A-list celebs, parties, and traffic jams that are already all-too-common in the entertainment capital of the world. It's also an immensely popular time to travel to the city, meaning hotels, especially those luxurious playgrounds for young and rich US Weekly regulars are more packed than usual.
This weekend's Grammy awards are taking place at the gargantuan Staples Center, and there's still time to book it to La-La Land in hopes of seeing Taylor or GaGa or Beyonce (cue heart palpitations and OMG-ing). Rather than try to find rooms at Chateau Marmont, the Roosevelt, or other West Hollywood/Hollywood hotspots, we opted to do some research into what's going on Downtown, where the awards are being held.

Visiting the Infamous Hotel from the Movie 'In Bruges'
The hotel is the two matching wood facades over the canal
At this very momentbelieve it or notwe are in Bruges, and no not because of the tourist rush that the Colin Farrell/Ralph Fiennes movie "In Bruges" brought. We've just always wanted to head to the "Venice of the north," as the town is called, but while here we can't simply ignore the now-famous sites around town that became almost another character in the movie on their own.
One such spot is the hotel in which the main hitman characters Ray (Farrell) and Ken (Gleeson) are put up by their boss, Harry (Fiennes). In the movie, it's passed off as a quaint, home-run bed and breakfast, but in reality it's the 4-star hotel Relais Bourgondisch Cruyce. It's here that the characters ponder death, reveal secrets, and even one of them jumps from his room window into the freezing canal below.
Another picture and what we found, after the jump!

Go Down The Shore For New Year's at The Chelsea Atlantic City
In case MTV's show Jersey Shore hasn't completely scared/scarred you, Atlantic City is a great option for getting out and partying on New Year's Eve. It will be cold anyways, so all the action and fist pumping will be indoors.
First we talked about how The Borgata is having everyone and their moms over for star-studded events, but we're liking the quieter, more intimate offering at The Chelsea.
There are technically two options for ringing in 2010 at The Chelsea: the "Boardwalk" package which includes staying the night and more, or the "Double Down" package, which is only tickets to the festivities.

The Borgata's NYE Plans Include Everyone From Mariah Carey To John Legend
Made any plans for New Years 2010 yet? How about for January 2 as well? If you've got a long weekend on your hands, the willingness to go to Atlantic City during the winter, and a love of pop music, then you might want to book a package at the Borgata Hotel & Casino stat, since they're going to have Samantha Ronson and Jermaine Dupri DJing, followed by full concerts from John Legend and Mariah Carey.
Although individual admission to their clubs for the big New Year's celebration starts at $60, that includes none of the celebrity spotting. For that, you'll want the Rockstar package:

Finally, Ordering The Humble Pie At NYC's Standard Hotel Grill
As you may have noticed over the last year, we've got a serious thing for the newly-opened Standard Hotel NYC. We've done everything from sleep there to party there, and even walk the High Line below it.
But it was last week that we finally got a taste of the Standard when we had lunch at the Standard Grill, which only began serving meals other than dinner back in late August.
Now that the cold air has settled into New York and kicked out the fair weather friends and put the staff through the paces, we decided it was time to go and see if the grill really lived up to all the hype.

Katy Perry Takes Hong Kong...Or Just One Of The City's Newest Hotels
Although hotel plans around the US keep getting cancelled, in Asia it's a veritable buffet of grand openings and ground-breakings. Nowhere is this more true than in good old Hong Kong, where not one but a few five-star properties are set to open this fall.
The first, the Mira Hong Kong, looks to be your typical chic and scene-y boutique hotel, with all-glass revealing bathrooms, Arne Jacobsen egg chairs in the rooms, and a confusing flash-heavy website. They are admittedly after the "design-driven and technology savvy," but their choice of performer for their opening party says something else.
