Sip the Pink Cotton Candy Cocktail in support of breast cancer research
As we mentioned last week, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and many hotels are "Thinking Pink", offering packages and programs to support breast cancer research. This week, you can do your part to help in this simple, but fun way--ordering these hotels' blush-hued beverages. Cool cocktails for a cause? We're so in!
The Pinkellini cocktail at deca bar at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago is a sweet and sour sipper of sour cherries, yuzu, lime and tangerine juices added to Brut Champagne. The cocktail is $14 and half of the proceeds for each drink will benefit The Lynn Sage Foundation, a local breast cancer research initiative.
During daily happy hour this month, the Mandarin Oriental San Francisco's Brasserie S&P bar will feature an assortment of pink drinks like the Victorian Drop made with Purity vodka, rose water, lemon, and hibiscus rose sugar. $1 from each beverage will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
The restaurants and Club Bar at The Peninsula Beverly Hills will shake up limited edition Pink Stoli Strawberry Cosmo cocktails. They're made with Stoli Strawberry vodka, Cointreau, fresh lime juice and cranberry juice. Order this sipper to support the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and many hotels are "Thinking Pink", offering packages and programs to support breast cancer research. Hotel geeks, you can do your part to help the cause in the simplest ways from buying a slice of cake, getting a manicure at a hotel spa, to of course booking a stay at one of these special properties. It's a twin-win this month.

Squeeze n' Sip: The Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village near Malibu is supporting Breast Cancer Awareness by inviting guests to be proactive about their health by participating in a $75 digital mammogram screening at their state-of-the-art California Health and Longevity Institute, and also their special Think Pink Pampering Package, which includes a customized 50-minute Tranquility Massage followed by a Pink Lady Mocktini which can be sipped poolside at the spa's Serenity Pool. The package is $130 per person and is available Monday to Friday through October 31, 2013. A portion of the package proceeds will be donated to The Cancer Support Community, a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families of those affected by cancer.
Get Pretty Feet and a Sweet Treat: The Surrey in New York City is offering a special Champagne Pedicure in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The 60 minute pedicure is $95 and includes two signature Cornelia cupcakes, a small bouquet of pink roses and dried lavender.
October is almost over, but hotels are still going strong with their pink-themed celebrations to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. That means you can still cash in on some great spa deals, yummy teas and more while helping raise funds for breast cancer research. Hard Rock Hotels are going pink again this month to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Heck, the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood in Florida hotel is going all out with pink drinks, a pink pool and pink shirts for staff. Dubbed Pinktober, the monthlong celebration will raise money for the cause.
You can do your part by sleeping in one of the pink-sheeted Hard Rock rooms; 25 percent of the room rate will be donated to breast cancer research and awareness charities.

Everyone gets psyched for October to celebrate Halloween, but there's another cause to rally around this month. Don't get us wrong, we love getting dressed up and hitting the parties, but breast cancer awareness is something that needs our attention.
