Now that the “50 Shades of Grey” movie is in the works and Universal has picked its screenwriter, we are resigning ourselves that these themed hotel packages are just getting started. Plus, given the fact that Andaz replaced the Bible with this novel, you know this is serious business that's not going away for a minute. Alright, if you can't beat 'em (ha!) join 'em.
So here’s another package for those enamored with Christian and his antics. Boston's Liberty Hotel has a “Fifty Shades of Sin” package designed for a most titillating night out. Our funny bone is just a bit tickled that a hotel with the word "liberty" in it, has a package centering around a book that's all about domination and sexual slavery, not freedom! But, we digress.
Here’s what you get for the $599 starting price tag (depending on the room you select):
*An intimacy kit
*Dinner for two at CLINK, the hotel’s restaurant modeled on old jail cells
*A pair of handcuffs
*A grey silk tie
*A "Solitary" Do Not Disturb Sign
*A bottle of champagne
*A copy of "50 Shades of Grey"
Given that the Liberty Boston was the city's former Charles Street Jail, we do think that this particular package is especially fitting.
And now the really important question--who will play Christian?!

Here's yet another hotel that's playing off the success of the erotic E.L. James novels, Fifty Shades of Grey,-- W Atlanta in Buckhead , who is offering up its own Fifty Shades of Stay with two different packages. And just in case you happen to live under a rock, characters in the Fifty Shades of Grey novel participate in bondage, dominance and other naughty adult-themes.
The press release promoting the deals promised that you’ll be able to get your own naughty release from either package. How? Well. both packages include a copy of the novel, a bottle of Bollinger Grande Année Rosé, and a stay in an Extreme WOW suite (to get your WOW on) but the first package--at a cost of $3,240--includes a helicopter ride with a luxurious car ride to and from the airport, (sadly, Christian Grey does not pilot the chopper for you), a diamond tennis bracelet, a consultation from a personal shopper, and lacy lingerie, and a silk-eye mask for the turn-down service.

There's tons of hotel news flying around this week and we don't have time to give each and every story the love and attention it may deserve, so you will have to settle for some news briefs.
· Andaz Is Heading to India: Hyatt Hotels have just announced plans for an Andaz Hotel in Guragon, India. The hotel will have 275 rooms along with 75 serviced apartments. Very interesting. There will also be a multi-cuisine restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, a specialty restaurant, a bar and gourmet store, a six-treatment room spa, a fitness center and a swimming pool. And Andaz brand standards like free WiFi and complimentary minibar drinks and snacks, we presume. Andaz Guragon will open in Late 2014.
· Baccarat Hotel & Residences Definitely Opening in Midtown Manhattan: Looks like the Starwood Stalker was right. Baccarat Hotels, a super-luxe hotel brand that was conceived in the hotel boom years but never panned out, is coming to Midtown Manhattan in the old Donnell Library on W. 53rd Street. The New York Times reports the hotel will have 114 rooms and 64 condos spread over 45 stories. Interestingly, the hotel's design will meet feng shui standards.

Along with college girls, suburban grandmothers and soccer moms, we too were secretly titillated by E. L. James' erotic Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. We toted the books on planes, read by the pool in Sin City (with just about everyone else in Vegas) and sometimes, we sheepishly skimmed while waiting at the drive-thu for our coffee.
As we got deeper into Anastasia and Christian's complex relationship, it turns out that we were only doing our job. The Heathman Hotel in Portland as a prominent setting to the story made us wonder, 'Why doesn't the Heathman have a Fifty Shades of Grey package ?'
Well, it turns out they do.

We knew it was only a matter of time before we saw a hotel package capitalizing on the New York Times' #1 bestselling “Fifty Shades of Grey” novel. And lo’, a special just appeared in our inbox!
San Francisco’s female-owned Personality Hotels company whipped up (cough) a “Fifty Shades of Women” package designed to encourage ladies to take control of their lover.
First, you'll choose deluxe accommodations at their Hotel Diva, Hotel Union Square, or Kensington Park properties. Then, you’ll get an intimacy kit from Minna Life filled with a black satin scarf, an Ola vibrator, lube, limited edition designer condoms by Art of Lust(limited edition condoms? say whaaaat?),and, of course, the obligatory pompom feather (OK, does anyone really like feathers? Please, weigh in on this, y'all).
