You can now stay warm while you chill out in front of your own personal fire pit at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel’s new Beachcomber Fire Pit Rooms and Suites, where temperatures December through February can plummet to a horrifying 50 F (that’s a shout-out to all of you tough northerners out there who can endure -20 F in January – we’re looking at you Fargo).

With direct access to the beach, these four stylin’ rooms all have terraces with private fire pits so that you can roast some wienies or pig out on s’mores in a more civilised way than backpacking with a tent in tow and searching for kindling (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

The Beachcomber Fire Pit Rooms and Suites have a beachy vibe in sandy sable and beige, pebble grey, the lightest of sky blue, and sun-bleached flooring that all work to give them a bright and airy feel. The rooms are large at 375 sq ft, the suites even larger at over 600 sq ft, and both open up to their 250-square-foot terrace.

If you book and stay in one of the Beachcomber Fire Pit Rooms or Suites through September 30, you can get an added perk of a comp bottle of Surfrider Hang Ten Red from Rosenthal—The Malibu Estate, and a chauffeured road trip to the winery in the hotel’s sporty FIAT.

Rates for this package start at $568 and standard rates in January for one of the Beachcomber rooms start at $453.
